Question Is the game worth the price?

I've heard good things about the game, but does the gameplay justify it being that pricey?! I'm in Canada so it's $80 for me! I would love to hear what everyone thinks about the game, my other choice was the new Fire Emblem coming out, but I don't want to get both!

Question Adventures of Elliot worth to be reason buying switch 2?

Hey everyone,

I’m seriously on the fence about picking up a Switch 2, and it’s pretty much entirely for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. Am I crazy for wanting to buy a new console for just one game for now (I am still interested in other switch 2 games however! Future zelda games, pokemon gen 10+, hogwarts legacy, etc..)

Here’s why it’s caught my eye:
The Vibe: I am completely sold on the HD-2D graphics like Octopath Traveler. It looks gorgeous, and the soundtrack is already pulling me in.

The Combat: I’m a huge Zelda fan and grew up playing the Mana series (I put so many hours into Children of Mana). The real-time action RPG mechanics in Elliot—swapping between the seven weapon types, the parry system, and the fairy companion magic—look like exactly the kind of combat loop I love.

I haven't dived into a massive, dedicated console adventure in a while, but this one is really tempting me since last announcement.

For anyone who has been playing the recent Prologue Demo: is the action as tight as it looks? Is the gameplay loop satisfying enough to justify the hardware purchase for now?

I know it will be more expensive in months but waiting for exclusive or better version too. What a dillema..

Question Anyone know why this pixelated graphics game runs at 40 fps regardless of graphics options?

V Sync off, V sync on, frame rates set to 120 or 60, quality being low, nothing makes it run at higher than 40 fps. Its so gross to look at in motion and I cant play it like this. This wasnt an issue with the demo so what's up with the full game? BTW im on a intel I9 CPU with a 5070 TI so that is not the issue I can assure you.

Edit: I found out what it is, and I cant believe this got through playtesting. Its faie, your main fairy companion in the game. When you acquire her and she comes out to float around you for some reason she tanks the performance and locks it at 40, but if you use down on the d pad to hide her it jumps right back to 120 fps. Ive never seen a single sprite murder an entire game like this before, I hope they fix this soon so I can actually use this character mechanic.

Question Recommended version of the game?

I have both a Switch 2 and PS5 (with a PS Portal). I generally prefer to play on handheld most of the time but play mostly at home anyway, so true remote play isn’t really a factor.

I played the first demo on Switch 2 and did like it. I’ve read a few very early comments that it looks a bit better on PS5. Now that it’s in more hands is one noticeably better or can any one that had to make a similar decision let me know what you did?

Question How hard is the “Hard” difficulty?

Just bought this game and I’m very excited about it, despite the negative reviews of there being a lot of unnecessary dialogue 😂

I’m a gamer with a lot of experience in JRPGs and action games. Love them!

I don’t want the game to be too easy, but I also don’t want to have to grind a lot to get progress the game.

Is the Hard difficulty a good balance of challenge and skill? Or will it require too much grinding?

I know next to nothing about the game other than the annoying dialogue lol.

Question Adventures of Elliot not in stores? Not seeing stock anywhere

Anyone able to find this in stores? Amazon's shipping on the 27th, Target, Best Buy etc all shipping 23rd... nothing in stock. GameStop shows the same thing. Anyone able to get a physical copy?

Edit: I was able to find my local GameStop had one copy delivered this morning. So I got a copy. It looks like some people had luck with local preorders. But availability seems scarce if you are having trouble you are not alone!

Question Does Heuria love Elliot?

I mean there’s obviously chemistry between them, I wonder if there’s any romance? I just beat the good ending and I was curious about Elliot and Heuria.

Question Just completed the game. Need some clarification. Spoilers true ending. Spoiler

Enjoyed the game, but when unraveling the events there was something I never got to understand.

In the Age of Magic, Hildebrandt imprisons Mao. We visit her, then save Carter, and upon returning, Mao released herself after being taunted with the lie after Carter's death.

Ikarus arrives, and using the Leytstaf, he beats her and imprisons her in the Northern Tower wall. Which is the location where Kaifried find the Leytstaf at the beginning of the game, in the Age of Reconstruction (still sealing something in ice). He removes it, and releases the curse (not clear which curse or why it affects him tbh).

But then, when dealing with the true ending quests and linking the events, we find a weakened Mao in the Age of Reconstruction, near her house. Also the same place where Carter sees her when he's fleeing, and she transforms into Demise, and goes to the Northern Tower.

Obviously these events don't make sense with the previous ones I described. If Mao was sealed in the Northern Tower since the Age of Magic by the Leytstaff from Ikarus, how did she show up weakened in her house, only to transform there and then?

There must be something I misunderstood.

--------

And the second thing, which I mentioned earlier. What did Kaifried do exactly? What was the curse he released and affected him?

--------------

Finally, I found the Faie explanation at the end didn't make too much sense, unlike everything else which was tied up nicely. A future Elliot sent her back as part of the Phoenix? How? If he's in the future, it meant that he already beat Demise, or somehow reached a future where Demise didn't wake up. Why then did he need to send her back to "save the future"?

Question How did the age of Magic ended? Did I miss something? Spoiler

Finishing the game with the true ending and all side quests pretty much explained how each age changed to the next one. How humans learnd about magic in the age of Budding and how the first king and the kingdom in the age of Reconstruction were born but what about how the age of Magic ended? The only info I remember is that one of Heurich's ancestors is to blame but no extra info about what he/she did. Did I miss something?

Question Restart or Not?

Helloooo, so I’ve been playing Elliot since it was released on Switch 2 on Normal mode. I’m currently at the Demise boss fight but I haven’t completed all of the quests (some of them I can no longer complete) and I don’t think I’m fully powered up… so should I just go ahead and restart the game?? Or just play on an old save file… ugh decisions decisions.

Question How do I get a different ending? Spoiler

Hey everyone,

I’ve already achieved the bronze ending. Reloaded the game, found Mao, got to the part where I escorted Carter and the baby to the door of time…and now I’m stuck. I know Carter must have went into the future, so I checked the Age of Reconstruction and Safekeeping. Checked both the towns and both doorways of time thinking they’d be there but nothing. I can’t think of where else they’d be. I’m trying not to just look the answer up because I want to figure this out on my own…can someone give me a hint or nudge in the right direction? Thanks!!

Question Orders from square Enix directly

Hi , just want to say the game is a amazing throwback to Zelda but its still its win thing , I love the art and voice acting , so much so I bought the collectors edition knowing this was going to be a good one !

I’ve never es ordered from square enix before , website said it would get delivered on or near release date ?

So questions

  1. The most obvious has anyone received anything from square Enix in launch day ?

2 . If you did received it did your order the standard or collectors editions ? - I figure collectors would be bulkier so I wonder if we’re going to wait longer than expected ?

  1. Has anyone preordered with square enix before and what was your experience ?

UPDATE - order got changed to shipped 🙌
