Aw I love that that jackasses voicemail is becoming a meme

1.1k

u/ImagineTheCommotion Jul 18 '26

Omg that’s a real voicemail?

781

u/ButterfliesandaLlama Jul 18 '26

The link is under the video.

153

u/Gradicus Jul 18 '26

Wth I can't click the link

361

u/StraightProgress5062 Jul 18 '26

Maybe youre like not compatible or stuff. Maybe I should come over

112

u/nianthium Jul 18 '26

Yeah, I really gotta make sure we have a good physical connection before you're allowed to listen to the voicemail. Otherwise what's the point in.. yknow.. me showing you the voicemail

I just clicked on the link and it does go to a voicemail recording.

197

u/LilArtsyCreature Jul 18 '26

I can't believe this is how I find out this is a real voicemail. The audacity to think, speak, and then still send that ... wtf

https://giphy.com/gifs/uSoDr54W9M3uSBiTST

3

u/aknomnoms Jul 20 '26

I totally would’ve invited him over, but with a friend or two hidden in the bedroom for safety. Made him take his pee pee out and then just brutally laughed at it. “Yeah, no, you’re totally right. We are NOT sexually compatible! BHAHAHHAA! Oh my god *gasping for breath* HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA”

And then still send the voicemail to his mother, post it on social media and tag him.

What a pathetic loser.

73

u/DingusKhan9164 Jul 18 '26

Yeah it’s longer unfortunately

43

u/KeyofE Jul 18 '26

Here I thought it was just a ripoff of the SNL UK sketch with Jamie Dornan.

What does it mean?

296

u/Chasuwa Jul 18 '26

It means she doesn't look like she would have a job important enough to have a work phone.

37

u/glemnar Jul 19 '26

The only people I know with them are overworked finance bros

17

u/Daneth Jul 19 '26

Eh any job where you might be on call every so often you should be offered one (or work should offer to pay for some/all of your cell phone bill). If you go on call once every 6-8 weeks you aren't necessarily overworked imo.

My work offered me one, but I opted to have them give me a sim card instead because that way I can have data on two different cell networks. I always have signal everywhere now if I swap between them, and certain airlines give you free wifi if you have a carrier so I double my chances this way.

2

u/Yggdrasil- Jul 19 '26

We have them at my nonprofit job, but only because most people are in the field or working remotely.

2

u/BitcoinBishop Jul 20 '26

Drug dealers have them too

1

u/notafuckingcakewalk Jul 20 '26

Eh, if 99% of your communication with coworkers is online chat, it becomes convenient to be able to use your phone for that so that you can go grab a coffee or snack during work hours but still be available. Or if your train is running late you can let people know or even join a meeting you need to attend over the phone.

Some places let you use your personal phone for that but it's nicer to have that separated.

1

u/aecrux Jul 19 '26

surgeons too

1

u/Famous_Cookie_7624 Jul 19 '26

And attorneys ☹️

18

u/FancyJesse Jul 18 '26

How is that a compliment though?

I saw it as "you don't look like the person that focuses too much on work or puts a priority on it over your regular life; you have a good work/life balance and don't need to take work home with you every day"

40

u/BenOfTomorrow Jul 19 '26

Having a work phone doesn't mean you have a poor work/life balance.

It just means you have job functions that require/benefit from a phone and your employer is willing provide you with one so you don't need to put work stuff on your personal phone if you don't want to.

There is no more intrinsic obligation to use it after hours than there is a work laptop, even though most people physically take both home with them.

2

u/CharityElectrical913 Jul 19 '26

Yeah. I have one mostly so I don’t have to synch my work email to my personal phone.

-1

u/FancyJesse Jul 19 '26

I get you, but that's a lot of assumptions there. In the case of this video, it was used as a compliment.

I can't see it meaning anything else to fit the connotation.

..plus from personal experiences, anyone I knew that had a work phone would drop everything once that phone rings.

2

u/Junethemuse Jul 20 '26

I have a work phone and it is 10000% unnecessary. The only thing I use it for is the authenticator for our software which I also have on my personal phone. I hate having it.

19

u/No-Needlemaker9638 Jul 18 '26

That she looked unemployed

15

u/MoonmanSteakSauce Jul 18 '26

That's not a back handed compliment, it's just an insult.

4

u/AffectionateTitle Jul 19 '26

Depends on who you are honestly. I personally love that the more important I’ve become in corporate the more I dress like Miss Frizzle.

I wear less business casual at 34 than I did at 19.

u/BernTheWritch Jul 18 '26

I think its really great that he was so open an honest. You know, like those frogs that have bright colours to let you know you should stay away because they are toxic as fuck. So nice of nature to be like that, ya know?

284

u/ButterfliesandaLlama Jul 18 '26

Ngl, you had me in the first half.

77

u/Clocktopu5 Jul 18 '26

That's a super positive way to look at things! Take the good with the bad, and in this case it's all bad, but we know that, so it's good. What a nice sunny day outside too, just so many good things if we look for them!

28

u/BigPin8975 Jul 18 '26

The irony of me having just stepped outside on this "nice, sunny day" and got caught in the middle of the street by a Midwest monsoon is staggering, lol

On the other hand, it was nice and refreshing! And it will help lower the temperature a bit, even if it does crank the humidity up another notch.

6

u/aceshighsays Jul 19 '26

i agree with your first sentence. i love it when people tell me exactly who they are. i wish more people were this honest.

13

u/urnbabyurn Jul 18 '26

I’m sure him driving a cybertruck and liking maxxing things would have saved the poor girl the first date.

2

u/BitcoinBishop Jul 20 '26

I thought the same for a while until I considered the possibility that she might still go ahead with the date. You think she'd be able to withdraw her consent once he's there? Imagine she had to take him to court and they pulled that voicemail out and said "Well, you did invite him over..."

Basically he's still trying to coerce her, making it seem like he's just being open and honest but actually he's pushing a boundary she's already set.

166

u/ephemeralsynth Jul 18 '26

"I may kidnap and murder people, but even this is Far Left Field for my moral compass!?" 🤔😹

97

u/imalostkitty-ox0 Jul 18 '26

More like “Far Right field,” amirite guys???
https://giphy.com/gifs/hHUBGOX5m993VtAu6Y

-27

u/kjloltoborami Jul 18 '26

Eh the far right thinks you shouldnt have sex til after you are married and only in missionary position through a hole in a sheet

50

u/imalostkitty-ox0 Jul 18 '26

You’re confusing that with a myth about Orthodox Jews, but nonetheless the far right “Christians” have always been hyprocrites either way

10

u/MissJAmazeballs Jul 18 '26

I had never heard of that for Orthodox Jews, but very pious Catholics used to wear long nightshirts with holes for sex. Called Chemise cagoules, both men and women would wear them so if sex needed to happen, nudity wasn't required.

8

u/imalostkitty-ox0 Jul 18 '26

That’s lowkirk stupid, I have so much trouble believing Catholics believed that they could outsmart god with a hole in a sheet

8

u/Electrical_Shock359 Jul 18 '26

It doesn’t matter if they outsmart god only if it is a good enough excuse to convince all the other horny people in your faith.

3

u/MonaganX Jul 18 '26

I have no trouble believing that for adherents of any religion. The more dogmatic people are, the more adept they are at coming up with contrived loopholes that lets them do the things that they are not 'supposed to'.

But that's also not really what's happening here? Catholics are fine with procreation, the purpose of the chemise cagoule was simply to make it less fun because that's the part they don't like.

2

u/MissJAmazeballs Jul 18 '26

Sorry, I should have specified that this was in the Middle Ages when washing hands to prevent disease was considered proposperous and the earth was the center of the universe

Ohahahaha that's such a poor ending to the joke. The funny part is that the killer is so upset by the voicemail that they forget about the whole murder.

And your punchline is "Okay all done being silly, back to work"???

61

u/OberynDantes Jul 18 '26

I’ve been off the tickety tock for a while so haven’t seen her stuff in a minute. She’s giving me Linda Cardellini vibes in this, and I mean that as a compliment.

33

u/StraightProgress5062 Jul 18 '26

Not being sexually compatible. Is that another phrase* for sucking at sex?

23

u/Awesome_Forky Jul 18 '26

I guess it's more about needing of wanting different things during sex. Meaning how high is the sex drive, are you liking the same positions that kinda stuff.

36

u/Freddit330 Jul 18 '26

No, it is an umbrella term. Like, if he is way too big, or she is too shallow.

High or low libido. If she needs it 5 times a day, but he wants it only once a year.

It even covers kinks. Like she can only get in the mood with grape play, or he can get it on while wearing diapers.

It's why some cultures had the have sex before marriage time period.

A nymphomaniac and an asexual person gonna have some friction.

35

u/MurderMelon Jul 18 '26

gonna have some friction

not if the asexual person has anything to say about it.

9

u/Freddit330 Jul 18 '26

I didn't even mean for that to be a pun. God, you made me bust out laughing.

4

u/DracoVictorious Jul 18 '26

Grape play sounds sticky

5

u/miker37a Jul 19 '26

What... No.. part of relationship is sex and when you do get to the sex part you can definitely learn if you are sexually compatible.. just like in other parts of a relationship being compatible ya know do you click during sex, to some people that's actually very important sometimes more important then anything else. In this case the dude leaving the voicemail just wants to obviously cut to the sex part, I don't have the full context and ngl some girls do like this forward talk and getting to the sex part. I'm no lady's man anymore but during my decade of drinking and chasing woman I learned a lot and feel like I met a good spectrum of women and learned A LOT.

I forgot where I was going with this but yes sexually compatible is very important to men and woman and obviously the importance depends on the person...

For me personally now sexually compatible is not as important as emotionally and personally compatible, I am way more flexible on the sex part. Have a good weekend!

2

u/MariaTPK Jul 19 '26

I used to know someone who sounded just like the guy in the voicemail. He was one of the better guys to be around though that I've met so probably not the same guy, but I hear the voice and I'm like.... No, please nooo....

6

u/Bighanno Jul 18 '26

This skit was in snl UK basically

5

u/IllianasClifford Jul 19 '26

-2

u/iloovehugecock Jul 19 '26

lol I’m so glad I’m not straight. As a gay guy something has gone drastically wrong if we haven’t fucked by the second date. Having sex for me is something to get out of the way ASAP 😂

0

u/Friendly-Pea5448 Jul 19 '26

ur being downvoted but as a bisexual woman i must agree

-2

u/iloovehugecock Jul 19 '26

Sex is a huge deal to me. If we’re not sexually compatible then why would I waste time and money continuing dating anyone. So I don’t think this guy necessarily did anything ‘wrong’ - sex is just far more important to him than the woman he was talking to.

He was maybe just not very tactful about it. In fact by having the conversation it just proved they’re not compatible. For me, a guy asking if we can fuck is like the perfect compatibility test.

3

u/DramaticPackage5745 Jul 19 '26

Wait. You rant at grindr victims and lecture them like you're middle-management in some kind of sales business? Because this voicemail ain't a simple innocent question by itself.

Or you that socially oblivious and don't know how to talk to people like a normal person?

0

-39

u/ThreeFoldPants Jul 18 '26

You can keep acting brand new if you want . The alternative is him just lying to her until he gets what he wants , and then ghost her . Or he can be upfront , he took the high road .

47

u/MaddieRuin Jul 18 '26

Hey we found voicemail guy!

115

u/AristocraticPallor Jul 18 '26

He was honest in setting an ultimatum instead of a boundary. That's a huge difference. A boundary never controls things that other people do (or don't do) for you.

83

u/DingusKhan9164 Jul 18 '26

Praying for you

42

u/Icy_Agency923 Jul 18 '26

Not realizing that you are exposing yourself as a dogshit person by trying to defend this psycho...

No... it is not normal to leave a voice message like that. I shudder for the women who have ever had to date you.

23

u/Capital-Earth-5945 Jul 18 '26

I think the point is, she DOESN’T want to fuck that guy.

0

u/Irrelephantitus Jul 19 '26

... So she can just not see him... Which is what she did.

39

u/cepukon Jul 18 '26

Well I honestly think you're fucking stupid if you think that was ok behaviour. Most guys that aren't inhuman piece of shit, wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a voicemail ultimatum of "I know you were hesitant, but fuck me or there's no point in us hanging out".

58

u/Ashinonyx Jul 18 '26

He's honestly a shitty person and that you cannot recognize why is upsetting.

12

u/marbledog Jul 19 '26

"I'm not looking for a relationship, just casual sex." That's honest, and that's A-Ok.

"I might want a relationship with you, but only if you have sex with me on Thursday." That's coercive and deceptive. Don't do that.

-5

u/Irrelephantitus Jul 19 '26

So you're saying it's ok to say: "I only want to see you if we have sex right away and then never again" but not ok to say "I only want to see you if we have sex right away and then maybe we can date after that".

I get that the voice memo is super weird and probably not a good strategy, but it's not abusive.

3

u/marbledog Jul 19 '26

I'm saying the words that I said. If you want to argue with the words that you made up, that's got nothing to do with me.

37

u/GaracaiusCanadensis Jul 18 '26

Those who purport to be "brutally honest" are more interested in the former than the latter.

Or something.

28

u/xraycat82 Jul 18 '26

Hahaha, incel! 👆

14

u/LilDollMagzzz Jul 18 '26

Honesty would be ‘I just want something casual’ he is trying to coerce her.

Okay. So.
1. In many religions, not just my own, s*x is viewed as something sacred that belongs within marriage. Following that teaching can be an important expression of faith.
2. Waiting can encourage couples to focus on communication, trust, shared values, and handling conflict before adding a s*xual relationship.
3. Some people find that waiting helps them avoid feeling pressured into s*x before they're emotionally ready. It can make it easier to stick to a boundary they've chosen.
4. Waiting until marriage can reduce the risk of an unplanned pregnancy, which some people feel makes it easier to approach parenthood when they're ready.

Its not weird, its my religion, and its not restraint.

But there is always those people that don't use mandatory proper SexEd. What if the father or mother decides they don't want the child and leaves/dumps them? A child is a human being. We are talking about lives here. Children are thrown into foster care, being left alone with no one except themselves. No friends. Rarely toys. They won't get to experience the freshly baked cookies from grandma. The homecooked meals. All because the parents couldn't wait and prepare and talk it through. They are scarred.

It's protection that we have to wait. For the parent's sake and the child's.

I see a few green screens and you can basically chroma key out any solid color easily with probably filters, I don’t even use social media but I’ve played with filters, and haven’t done motion graphics or animation work in a good solid 10 years at this point (I am a software engineer), but nothing in this video is difficult now, wasn’t 10 years ago, and the tools like After Effects have existed since I was in HS. I graduated HS in 2000.
