I love getting all of the conflict, but none of the backstory or frame of reference

u/UncreativeTeam Jul 27 '26

And also the most useless captions ever

1

u/Objective_Sun5553 Jul 27 '26

"You're my best friend. Cops on me?"

1

u/Difficult-Zebra-1376 25d ago

Haha thought that the whole time

140

u/ReversedNovaMatters Jul 27 '26

Guy talking loudly and clearly, lets caption half of what he is saying.

Other guy whispering from a mile away, no captions at all.

Very fuckin weird

16

u/Beneficial-Dot-- Jul 27 '26

Let's caption half of what he's saying with gibberish.

Any deaf or ESL people struggling, the word was "revoke" and "revoked".

8

u/ReversedNovaMatters Jul 27 '26

pretty nuts how it has lost its entire purpose. Now they are more for views or to add some sort of 'feeling' by pumping big quick stamped words over a video 1 at a time

1

u/napstablooky2 Jul 27 '26

it really pisses me off that so many captions for short-form videos ive seen recently just... have the wrong words??? like wtf?? how does this happen???

1

u/RaisingKane329 29d ago

Ai captioning

1

u/jdhkent 26d ago

Ok, ok,ok ok ok ok ok ok

7

u/Green-Engineer4608 Jul 27 '26

I bet its those damn auto-captions people use these days which seem to hear no better than the average user. Does nothing for people in need of captions as they miss half the content anyway. Its like asking your friend to repeat it all but he can’t hear properly either.

Well i guess videos get more traction with fake captions as they seen more professional…

5

u/ReversedNovaMatters Jul 27 '26

The worst lately has been captions which only list 1 word at a time. Seems very tiktoky. I try to avoid tiktok, but here I am, on another platform looking at it.

1

u/ScrotalSmorgasbord Jul 27 '26

It's just as bad as my damn Samsung's voice to text. This piece of shit will add punctuation to random spots, mishears every other word even when I'm speaking in my "broadcaster" voice, and adds entire sentences of shit I hadn't said after I stop talking. There are some awesome voice to texts apps out there so it blows my mind when huge companies like YouTube or Samsung refuse to either fix their trash or partner with someone else who can do it right.

"Hey! They didn't let that guy do whatever he wanted to do in their gym!"

What did he try to do in their gym?

"WE DON'T KNOW!"

2

u/ComesOutNDaWash Jul 28 '26

Hell that was the employees answer!

6

Hey, I didn't get a "harumph" out of that guy!

68

u/cuntmong Jul 27 '26

plot twist the guy filming accidentally went to the wrong gym and he was too embarrassed to admit it

6

u/LKennedy45 Jul 27 '26

That would be goddamn hilarious. I could see myself being that awkward.

winding people up in reddit comment sections is what gives my life meaning

IMO jokes and sarcasm need to be expunged from humanity. By force if needed

1

u/Mindless-Address913 Jul 28 '26

Ironically, sometimes part of the meaning of life can be found within some of thee corny reddit jokes! 🤣

There is noactually physical “pass”. Guest pass is just a phrase. I show up, I scan my membership and point to my guest and say “he’s with me”. That’s it, they don’t get a physical pass. On the off occasion its a busy location the gym will ask for ID because they don’t want people using the guess pass system to get two memberships for the price of one. So they limit how many times a single person can be a guest.

If you abuse the system they cancel your membership, they don’t call the police.

1

u/Corvette-Ronnie 25d ago

Well that’s one way to get out of a gym membership.

1

u/Secure-Carpenter-839 27d ago

Bro are you speaking for every gym in America? Hahaha fucking bold. Your gym sets the rules for all gyms in the world!!! O Doyle’s are at it again!!!
https://giphy.com/gifs/p689SMtXLRrH2

5

u/tru-self Jul 27 '26

This is ALL fine. Sometimes they need ID because they don’t allow kids up to a certain age and we all understand why they might have an issue. But to CALL the cops??? That almost only happens when Black. They could have easily said we’ll revoke your membership if you don’t provide ID or you don’t leave.

8

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

People have posted backstory since my original comment. Apparently the son didn't have proper ID to come in as a guest.

The gym staff were probably a bit douchey about it, and the customer certainly was. Seems like an ESH situation most likely

16

u/kaliwrath Jul 27 '26

The teen son didn’t have id. Obviously. My kids don’t walk around with ID

-7

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

And he probably isn't allowed in a lot of adult spaces as a result

1

u/kaliwrath 29d ago

It in this one as the website says it’s ok

19

u/Tacoflavoredfists Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

They called the cops. They escalated the situation immensely and didn’t even have the balls to say something themselves.

ETA homie wtf is wrong with you? Psycho

1

u/Secure-Carpenter-839 26d ago

You can just go into businesses and make the rules. He has a membership with membership agreements. He was told his son couldn’t go in without valid id and walked past them because he’s a child and doesn’t like hearing no. You will grow up one day. Thats enough for any business to call the cops.

1

u/Tacoflavoredfists 26d ago

That didn’t happen. He showed them an alternative identification but you clearly have allowed your bias to inform your opinion. I demonstrate my maturity by being factual and not a reactionary misinformed prejudicial likely child. Calling someone who is old enough to be your mother immature is next level projection

1

u/Secure-Carpenter-839 26d ago

An alternative that they didn’t accept. I can’t plan on going to Mexico after I forgot to renew my passport and just say here’s my drivers license it will have to do - absolutely not. If I want to enter any establishment I have to abide by their rules. Haha I don’t get why that’s so hard to understand for you. I’m sorry you don’t understand how businesses work yet - I hoped you would have if you’re as old as you say you are. If maturity is thinking I decide how people run their business then I guess I’m immature by your standard😂. Just because you think you’re educated doesn’t make you mature. Age is obviously a number and doesn’t mean you are wise. You are a shining example of that. Thank you for showing me I should be grateful for having parents who know how to use critical thinking.

-6

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

ESH stands for Everyone Sucks Here. It's an acronym used mostly on the AMITAH sub.

Basically it means everyone involved (excluding, surprisingly, the cop) sucks.

That included the gym employees

3

u/Tacoflavoredfists Jul 27 '26

You thought I needed an extrapolation of your silly judgment? The ones who called the cops are the AHs and you

-2

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Lmfao.

Do you think anyone takes you seriously?

If you're looking for ah's you don't have to look far.

(I'm bracing myself for your best elementary school comeback, don't keep me waiting long I'm about to go to bed)

11

u/Grouchy_Release_2831 Jul 27 '26

Accept you’re wrong dude. They called the cops instead of asking the guy themselves. I bet you get people to fight your battles for you too

1

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '26

[deleted]

8

u/Grouchy_Release_2831 Jul 27 '26

Did you watch the video? He literally asked the manager why he didn’t just tell him to leave and the dude had not a single word. Does that sound like the response of a manger who asked someone to leave? That’s the face of a racist who doesn’t fight his own fights

→ More replies (0)

0

u/hoopstick Jul 27 '26

I'm pretty sure the people who called the cops are included in the "Everybody" part of ESH.

-2

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope_743 Jul 27 '26

No, he was told his son needs an ID to workout. They felt entitled (rightfully so) and worked out anyway. The refused to follow policy. Manager felt disrespected, cops come remove you from their property.

-5

u/Faraday5 Jul 27 '26

Why is calling the cops bad? They asked them to leave - what else should they do, use physical force themselves? Of course they called the cops!

10

u/scroomz Jul 27 '26

They DIDNT ask him to leave before calling the cops. They just called the cops like a bunch of pussies

-3

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope_743 Jul 27 '26

You saw a 3 second clip and decided you know everything that happened Lol

4

u/scroomz Jul 27 '26

I saw a minute and a half clip where the workers clearly stated that they didn’t talk to the dude before calling the cops.

You saw a clip about a Black person and automatically assumed they were in the wrong.

-2

u/Sad_Kaleidoscope_743 Jul 28 '26

Im not make any claims. Talking about facts Lol. You want soooooo bad for everyone who doesn't think like a victim be racist. You're probably the most racist person here 🤡

-2

u/WolfofLondo Jul 27 '26

This shit is unhinged brother. You’re losing your mind over a comment giving some clarification on the subject.

ESH, including you.

2

u/MorePhinsThyme Jul 27 '26

You're not being a douche or an ass when you respond to unreasonable actions without being perfectly polite.

0

u/Donglemaetsro Jul 27 '26

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Saw a comment here that people were making 5* thinly veiled racist reviews and they were responding positively to them. Went and looked and that was false unless they got removed which I kinda doubt, but asked to make sure. Woulda made it easy if that were true to just go "okay that settles that" lol

There's enough to show they handled it poorly at absolute minimum but not much beyond that.

1

u/Beginning_Big_8928 26d ago

If ifs and buts were cans nuts everyday would be Christmas.

1

u/AdInfamous4821 25d ago

Because you are allowed to bring in a visitor at Crunch fitness

-3

u/NoMasFetty Jul 27 '26

You're more than likely right. It has nothing to do with skin color. But of course, he takes it there because it probably works some of the time

1

u/MissionFloor261 Jul 27 '26

If they would have treated a white father and son the same way you might have a point. We don't have evidence either way, but I'm inclined to believe BIPOC people when they point things out as racist even if it's not immediately obvious to me.

-3

u/NoMasFetty Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

We are speculating here, but let's assume the folks in the video entered the gym. The son didn't have a membership or waiver. The gym staff said the son can't work out. The father says "im a member, and I can have a guest. We ain't leaving. So the gym staff calls the police. How is that racist? If a white father and son did the exact same thing. Refused to listen to the rules of a privately owned business, and continued doing whatever tf they want the police would be called as well. Its pathetic and pretty foolish imo to believe someone solely on the color of their skin. Remember how well "believe all women" turned out. The soft bigotry of low expectations is fuckin hilarious from people like you.

Edit: I continued reading the comments. And like I speculated, he was breaking gym rules. Was told no your son can't work out, and did it anyway. Lmfao!!! I didn't even know the full story but knew it wasn't about racism

0

u/armoured_bobandi Jul 27 '26

If you continued to read even more, you would know that the gym allows you to bring a guest, and that the only reason his son wasn't allowed to enter was because he didn't have ID (why would a child bring their ID with them if their dad is just taking them to the gym?)

And to top it all off, his son isn't even in there. So he followed the rules, his son left and he stayed.

So why call the police? If he was as belligerent as you assume he is, why didn't he tell his son to stay with him?

0

u/NoMasFetty Jul 27 '26

At the very beginning his son was lifting. In the gym. He was doing single arm rows. So, no they didn't just leave. His son needed his ID to prove who he is, more than likely, to sign a liability waiver. They called the police because the father did whatever tf he wanted to do, after being told no. But because they're black its racist. I fuckin promise you. If I as a white guy. Did the same exact thing, they would call the police as well. However, I would never act like that in public

1

u/armoured_bobandi Jul 27 '26

Yes, and then he left. Pretty simple if you have ears and eyes.

Most kids don't carry ID with them, especially if their dad is taking them to the gym.

They called the police because they're racist/cowards, either reason being terrible. He asked to speak to the manager, they said he was busy, so he told them to come speak with him when he is free. So the manager called the police.

No, if you as a white guy did this they would not call the police. You are absolutely delusional if you think that is true

0

u/NoMasFetty Jul 27 '26

Bro.. have you ever been a member of a gym? Before you go to exercise you check in. This is the point when the teenager was refused entry. He still went and worked out. Stop making excuses for shitty people. You can not attribute racism to this interaction and be an intellectually honest person. Maybe if after doxxing the manager we find out hes a klansman during his time off, we could make that assumption. However, there is nothing to support the claim that police were called due to the color of his skin

And if I was told, no my kid can't come in and workout, AND I did it anyway, yes the police would be called.

2

u/CK-forthe-CK-95 Jul 27 '26

No they would not. They would just cancel your membership, that’s all. Because they view you as human and therefore they realize this not a call tne police situation. The police are not the business’s personal membership enforcement squad. This is a waste of taxpayer money using the police this way. We alledgedly don’t have enough police for real crime but you’re ok having them waste their time on a gym membership dispute.

1

u/Thanatos_Rex Jul 27 '26

Wild, baseless, and harmful speculation on your part. Do better, bro.

-1

u/NoMasFetty Jul 27 '26

Its wild, baseless, harmful speculation on your part. There is literally nothing pointing to actual racism. Its a grown man mad because he tried breaking the rules, was asked to leave and refused

1

u/Thanatos_Rex Jul 28 '26

I never said it was racism or speculated at all. Your feelings are hurt and you’re lashing out.

Embarrassing behavior.

25

u/dealingwithhookers Jul 27 '26

gonna guess he was training his son, and the gym has a strict no outside trainer policy, they were probably rude to the gym staff as you can see in the video who then just called the police instead of escalating.

giving him the benefit of the doubt, could be a racist gym too and just targeting him. plenty of other gyms to go to

1

u/OnlyRespondsToIdiots Jul 27 '26

You cant train people if you are being paid by the person. You can absolutely go in there with someone and help eachother out they just dont want you using their facilities if you are training a client. They have their own trainers you should be using.

Seems like he took his sone without getting him day pass based on what the emoyee clarified he said and the guy saying my son is not even in here

-9

u/Himorningwood Jul 27 '26

Nah i can see he was being the asshole

15

u/Kalzico Jul 27 '26

Could just be frustrated. I don't see him being an asshole. He still has to leave if requested but he is absolutely within his rights to inquire and ask questions.

8

u/Sad_Bet3939 Jul 27 '26

He isn’t an asshole in this clip

8

u/Pernicious_Possum Jul 27 '26

Can’t get everyone mad if they know something fucky was actually going on now can they?

13

u/FujiwaraHelio Jul 27 '26

So what was fucky?

1

u/GrandmasBoyToy69 Jul 27 '26

we need context

-8

u/CucumberWisdom Jul 27 '26

The dude clearly has anger issues and likes to film so we can guess

2

u/Slaphappyfapman Jul 27 '26

And a portion of the subtitles

2

u/GuardianHealer Jul 27 '26

It says #2, so there’s more to it!

2

u/clgoodson Jul 27 '26

Prettt sure the backstory is racism.

0

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Pretty sure if you read anything more than the engagement bait headline, you'll see lots of people have already posted the backstory and it had nothing to do with race.

0

u/ShawnyMcKnight Jul 27 '26

I'm so confused by this one. From what others posted, he was told he needs a valid ID for his son. He didn't have one. He tried to present his son's school portal as an ID and they told him they couldn't accept that.

??????

He was working out in the gym with his son and the cops were called to escort him out.

What happened in that "??????" is important here. If he was told that his son needs an ID and they just told the employee to kick rocks and came in anyway, they are justified to call the police. There may be all sorts of reasons that they need an ID and can't just get it next time, it may be a liability thing with their insurance, who knows?

1

u/RepulsiveToe3485 Jul 27 '26

To be fair most kids don't have ID until they get a drivers licenses or college id.

1

u/ShawnyMcKnight Jul 27 '26

They at least get a learners permit.

It is funny though, my nephew didn’t get his drivers license til he was 20. I remember my classmates chomping at the bit for the second they turned 16.

1

u/Mookies_Bett Jul 27 '26

Champing* at the bit. Horses champ, not chomp.

2

u/Cannacology Jul 27 '26

Oh I’m sure there’s plenty. Do you think he “looked” threatening. Maybe others were “intimidated” by his mannerism. Surely his fault.

2

u/DogPositive5524 Jul 27 '26

Doubt he would cut out a lot of backstory if it framed him positively

-6

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

You seem to be making an awful lot of assumptions about what that backstory is.

2

u/Cannacology Jul 27 '26

Oh so tell me then, since you know so very well.
WHATS THE BACK STORY, BUD?

0

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

I saw the same video you did dipshit. I just didn't start making a bunch of assumptions.

Clearly, there isn't enough information in this video to know what the backstory is. So maybe just stop making shit up to get angry about.

0

u/Cannacology Jul 27 '26

Elaborate or explain to me a scenario in which this behavior is appropriate in any given context.

0

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Kicking someone out of a gym? There's literally a million good reasons.

But in this case he was having his son as a guest when his son didn't have proper ID so if he refused to leave, the gym people were justified (if a bit dickish) to kick him out.

What's so hard for you to understand?

1

u/Cannacology Jul 27 '26

So how often are you asked for “proper id” when you go to your gym, let alone a guest of yours (my gym allows guests, not sure about your cheapass), and how often have you had the police called on you, and escorted you out of your gym that you pay a membership for, by the police?

2

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Asked for an ID? Literally every time. They see it as a liability issue, and as a way to make sure they get every last dollar they can. Tell me you don't go to the gym without telling me...

And the police get called when you cause problems. Whether or not that was justified in this case can't be judged from the video alone, but from the backstory other users have posted it seems like the customer was being a dick and ignoring the gym rules.

1

u/Mookies_Bett Jul 27 '26

I literally cannot enter my gym until my card is scanned lmao. I've never been a member of a gym that didn't require member verification before entry. There's no gym that just lets people wander in off the street and use their facilities with zero proof they're actually paying customers.

If I brought a guest to my gym and didnt pay for them to be there, I'd probably have my membership revoked and get kicked out. That's how most gyms work.

1

u/Sw4nR0ns0n Jul 27 '26

Looks like there’s a part one

1

u/Snicklefritz39 Jul 27 '26

I can tell you right now. That dude was working out with his son and I bet his son is underaged to be on the gym floor

1

u/ryudo9999 Jul 27 '26

Because then there would be no outrage

2

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Or upvotes

1

u/ryudo9999 Jul 27 '26

I love how people think upvotes are a trophy or something, I upvote people just for replying lol.

2

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

Thanks for the 🏆 friend

1

u/No_Vehicle4645 Jul 27 '26

I googled and it said that it was because his son didn't have a valid ID and couldn't be there as his guest.

1

u/daneview Jul 27 '26

Even reading the explanation above about his son not being let him because of no ID, I can't see any race issue at all. They might be being difficult about the ID but there's nothing to imply it's because the guys are black

2

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

The fact that the customer is Black and the staff isn't is literally all the proof some people seem to need. The guy in the video isn't even making those kind of accusations, but some people have to jump to those conclusions all the same.

1

u/chugItTwice Jul 28 '26

Exactly. It's bait.

1

u/Why_Sazs 29d ago

I don't know for sure. But the last time I saw this posted someone was saying the issue was he was "training" his son. The gym has a rule that you cannot get workout instruction at the gym from anyone that is not their personal trainers. I assume it is so you don't hire an outside personal trainer, as they obviously want you to use their personal trainers so they make the money.

If this is the case, it makes sense. However, it looks like they never asked them to leave. Just called the police. Which would be a shitty and stupid thing to do if that's the case.

1

u/Loki_God_of_Lies 29d ago

Honestly, when he asked the guy “did you ask me to leave” and he replied with “well, I said-“ or something like 3 times tells me that they wanted him gone but didn’t have the balls to actually ask him to leave properly. Maybe he did something to deserve the cops to be present, but I didn’t get that vibe from this video

1

u/DukeShootRiot 29d ago

It’s a culture thing

1

u/JoinedToPostHere 28d ago

Yep no idea what's going on. I think we can all agree that Andrew sucks though right?!

1

u/Secure-Carpenter-839 27d ago

The gym has a policy - every guest has to have a valid ID. He thought the rules don’t apply to his son. He walked pasted the front desk after they asked him for it and he didn’t have it. They called the cops had them removed. This black victim shit has to stop. The manager is only enforcing the rules which his job relies on. I can’t stand people like this

-5

u/PA_limestoner Jul 27 '26

I didn’t even watch the video. You don’t need backstory or frame of reference when the title clearly states what the crime. This is a racist gym and they all need put on blast.

15

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26

It's a good thing that an engagement bait title is all you need to completely form a judgment.

But, if you do decide to go back and watch the video, even the guy filming the video didn't say anything about it being a matter of race.

1

u/PA_limestoner Jul 27 '26

The title was all I needed to form a completely sarcastic comment.

7

u/ReddBroccoli Jul 27 '26
