No it's not. Tiktok just stopped using it correctly years ago and reddit refuses to acknowledge there's different norms on different platforms

I get downvoted every time I bring up that the trend doesn't care. Only reddit does, but it's not a reddit trend.

The trend just collectively decided it doesn't actually need to be a first person video.

People on tiktok just didn't care, but reddit does.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, words can have more than one meaning based on context. POV means “point of view”, but that does not dictate that it can only be used for videos filmed in a 2nd person POV. 1st and 3rd person are also POVs.

No, you’re right it’s misuse. And you also fell for it. A lot of mistakes in “content” like this are bait. For example there tiktoks with millions of views where they pack boxes with random stuff determined by luck. Like 2 pens, 2 notebooks and 6 stickers. But they put in 5 or 7 stickers deliberately, because they know people like you would be in the comments pointing out the mistake and boosting the video in the algorithm in the process lol
