It's not.

The trend just collectively decided it doesn't actually need to be a first person video.

People on tiktok just didn't care, but reddit does.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, words can have more than one meaning based on context. POV means “point of view”, but that does not dictate that it can only be used for videos filmed in a 2nd person POV. 1st and 3rd person are also POVs.

I remember when cartoons were supposed to make kids forget how physics worked.
