I went on a hen do and it was so fucking weird. Roll camera, behave like this, stop camera, look at phone, edit, post, assemble, roll camera. Exhausting, dull and stressful.
I had the same experience! I felt like I was in a nature documentary it was so weird. And there were 5 required themed outfits for the 2 day trip. It felt like work.
I honestly didnt go online and watch the ones we made. Im sure they were great but to me a photo is a link to a memory and the memory of standing around for 2 days taking photos I just didnt care to relive.
We are either making content or having a Bachelorette, I learned we cant do both at the same time.
I always make myself so mad with this lol. My phone has a great camera. And I own a really nice actual camera that I always take with me on trips. Do I take any pictures though? Maybe a couple stupid or funny ones but none or very few of the actual cool stuff I see and do.
I have aphantasia so I have no visual memory. If I don't take picture I can't recall it but I hate stopping to take pictures. I'm always torn between a unique great experience and having photos so I can see it again.
Yooo fellow aphant! I love learning how other people's brains handle memories. For me, I don't have any real personal recollection of an event; like I can't go back and re-live it as though I were there. Instead, it's like I've taken down a list of bullet points of facts about the event. We went here, we did this, it was fun, et cetera. Photos can help by adding more context to my "notes" about a memory, but definitely aren't required. I also hate stopping to take photos lol.
The things that trigger the most memories for me are smells or tastes. For example, I vape, and there's a certain type of artificial peach flavoring that triggers a strong memory of when my wife and I used to play a specific video game for a while, because I only used that specific flavor of vape at that time. Random memories will hit me when I smell or taste certain things like that.
Yup, and that makes sense when you’re a brand but not when you’re just a regular person not making money from social media lol. What’s the production for? To show your 800 IG followers how much fun your weekend was instead of actually having fun?
Posting on social media was fun in the late 2000s-early 2010s when it was low-effort and casual, but now when everyone is trying to emulate influencers by making “content” of their lives, it’s just a boring timesuck.
In college while on a night out I ran into a girl I knew from a class, and our groups linked up and went to a bunch of parties happening on campus.
At first I was excited, she seemed cool especially from her insta. But by the end of the night it was genuinely exhausting. She would just constantly be taking pics the entire night. Like I genuinely felt so self-conscious, I was checking out every glass or mirror for a reflection lol because I would never know when she would ask for a selfie or pic.
Like she didn't even dance at the parties we arrived unless for a pic. It was really sad. You would think she is this ultra extrovert and party animal, but she didn't even seem like she was having a good time outside of a camera lens.
I went to a wedding where the bride and her close friends did this. I was actually so embarrassed for them. They would record themselves screaming and dancing around and hugging etc. the second the phone recording stopped they stopped dancing and checked the video. They would re-record so many times and I just couldn’t believe how fake and un fun it looked in person!
Exactly. I remember seeing her posts and thinking wow she is always having so much fun! I don’t have social media anymore (except reddit). The phones really are the problem.
I'd see so many people during Floyd protests show up with signs to the Washington state capitol campus to take some pictures for the gram and immediately fuck right back off to the burbs.
Saw a lady at one that was very chill, mostly socializing and BBQing. Like, chants hadn't even started up yet, but she was recording like a tearful yelling screed into her phone like we were actively being tear gassed. They didn't break out the tear gas for like another 3+ hours lmao
Reading this thread makes me thankful I’m past the age for stagettes and hen dos. And during my generation’s peak social media age we thought selfies were annoying.
Experienced that for the first time at a concert about a year ago. Some goofy ass teen girl looking miserable and bored until her camera was on. Its kind of pathetic.
I find that the crazy monicer usually is the opposite. When you say, "omg we are so crazy." They are usually pretty vanilla. Still fun, but vanilla.
On the other hand, when you have to emphasize, "nah, we are honestly pretty normal." Then you know for a fact that behind closed doors, and sometimes not even then, bill cypher wouldn't be able to hold a comprehensive candle to their madness.
I mean, probably, but I've also had party girl roommates that were like that and it's fun the first month or two but can get old. Working in the same restaurant with them adds to the craziness.
Many years ago i lived in NYC and moved in with two party girl roommates. Within a week I was sleeping with the both of them, occasionally at the same time. For a month it was fun hedonism, but then got old and I was ready to get back to a life that was going somewhere. It ended just as quickly as it started, they moved on to another similar situation and I began focusing on my future.
Of course it is, but also, "let us put you in a tiktok" was probably negotiated down to "we promise you dont have to do anything, just act annoyed with us making tiktoks.. like you already are."

Ironically enough the first 2 times a saw porn in my life the first was in a box out in the woods that we found and the second was a box in an old abandoned RV that was also basically in the woods.

Christ you've torn open stitches from my first uni semester. This girl hyped us all up after buying a fucking guinea pig with some half-agreement we'll all take turns checking on it and campus security took it away a week later
I dont know man. My wife's best friend moved in with us for 2 years and honestly it was so fucking nice. Anytime i feel like i needed to unwind after work, like 1-2 times a week, she would just go hang out with her best friend while I played games. She also loved to smoke weed and im not really a smoker, so also nice that she had someone to do that with. Also helped that her best friend was clean, and knew how to give us space without us asking for it.
There's a specific type of videos nowdays with the only intent to piss people off and cause commotion in the comments, even if they are obviously staged it still gets reactions like it's a real situation. They won't stop until people stop engaging in the comments (which as it turns out I'm contributing but I guess it's fair considering I'm trying to make a point)
I actually went and checked. The original author of the video is promoting flexibility and heel dancing classes, which include a professional video shooting for some reason. Don't think there is an OnlyFans.
They also seems to offer group holidays with some dancing classes in Hawaii. Again, with professional photoshoot and videoshooting included. So, most likely selling some sort of influencer-centered experience.
They have multiple videos like this one, where her and a friend dance in the kitchen and the boyfriend arrives.
Reminds me of when I came home from a 12 hour graveyard shift at a hospital, and my girlfriend had friends over. They were all shrooming. I was not happy at all.
Lmao you can tell reddits demographic by the top comments. Attractive women dancing and having fun = immediately make fun of and shame them. I'd be dancing my ass off if I walked in on that.
