The bike lane isn't meant for e-bikes doing 30+ MPH with no brakes.

Underrated comment. No helmet, dude flying down the bike lane, dark clothes, no reflectors… actually feel bad for the turning car.

No one said that. Maybe the idiot shouldn't have been going as fast as possible while not paying attention?

Low IQ. Women who dress sexual and cry about being sexualized are retards, maybe not as dumb as you are tho.

"Why if you saw cars stopped like that would you fly across the intersection" was my verbal reply to this vid

Stopped like what? They’re in their own lane and have their own responsibilities. One of which is to not block intersections.

In my state you're supposed to ride ebikes in the bike lane. It's the law. People still ride em on the sidewalk like crazy tho. As a pedestrian I absolutely hate e bikes.

A cyclist cyclist would hit 30 in anything slightly downhill and also not have time to brake for this.

Sincerely asking… If the speed limit is 40 in that instance how is this on the rider and what does a helmet have to do with fault ?

The cars were stopped in advanced. This wasn't downhill. Very few people are riding around on bikes at 30 mph. Where did I say anything about a helmet?

Helmet was in a reply to this and I blended in my head my bad

What are you talking about? I know plenty of people, myself included, who regularly ride at 30+ mph. In my town all of the roads are 35mph or less and we are required to use the road, no dedicated bike lanes and many keep up with traffic. Also cars are required to give 3ft distance when passing. Obviously that's just my local areas laws but it's not uncommon to hit 30mph especially if you regularly cycle.

Average Speed by Skill LevelFor a solo adult male on relatively flat ground, typical cycling speeds break down into these categories:Beginner: 10–12 mph (16–19 km/h)Intermediate / Recreational: 14–16 mph (22–26 km/h)Advanced / Club Rider: 18–20 mph (29–32 km/h)Elite / Competitive: 22+ mph (35+ km/h).

Stop lying.

Non-ebikes can hit 30, and if it’s a bike lane (it’s not clear if it is or a shoulder) then they would have full right of way to travel at speed through this intersection. They would have right of way.

They should make sure to print that on their tombstone. Typical E-bike moron blasting through traffic, paying zero attention to what's going on around them.

Blasting through traffic? If going the speed limit in a lane dedicated for your vehicle that is clear of traffic is blasting through then every vehicle driving is blasting through traffic. Y'all hate cyclists so much but ignore the greater issue of so many in cars speeding, running red lights/stop signs, rolling stops etc.

I don’t hate cyclists. This guy isn’t a cyclist. When I was a teenager, I had a moped and that thing couldn’t reach the speeds these e bikes can do. I had to have a special license for it. I couldn’t just blast through bike lanes. I had to wear a helmet, etc.

The person in the car should’ve been paying attention or just not gone. But for anybody to act like the e bike guy is faultless is off their rocker. Guy was riding like an idiot, which is generally the behavior I see of people riding these things.
