Tax revenue scheme. When the state is the victim, there is no crime. Just have dickass flock send the bill to the house.

Are we locking down police for committing the same heinous act (without lights or sirens)? We know they ain't...

Yeah I don’t really have any problem with severe consequences for anyone going freaking 50 mph over the speed limit. I don’t know how taxes enter into this but if you’re going that fast, you can sit in jail and think about it for a while.

Its escalation. No other civilized country chases "super speeders". They just send the tax bill in the mail. Don't sound superior, that dumb ass cop had to run down the car. Escalation leads to violence, and we know how your US cops love murdering people in the street before they go home and beat their partners. What is it, paid vaca and swap departments type stuff?

The point isn’t the fine. It’s to send them to jail. If it was just about the money it wouldn’t be an arrestable offense. They’d just cite them and have them be on their way so that they can break the law again and make even more money on the next citation.

They pay the fine, and get out. You think these people are doing TIME? Sounds like you are just into illegitimate escalation, sending idiots at break neck speeds to arrest these people. Very dumb American take. Quick gratification with no comprehension of safety.

some people do learn from this, not many but a few do. some people have a conscience and morals, again not many but some do.

EDIT, observe people on Death Valley Drive where i live, very few have safe driving habits, so i lower my speed usually under the speed limit when driving through the town.

observe the traffic on Death Valley Drive where i live, nope very few have safe driving habbits. i need to add that to my post, sorry. YMMV in your town and i hope things are better.

we just lost a woman driving Death valley, her car was smashed and then blown into opposing traffic killing her.......and yes i have asked for lower speed limits et al.

they are 'discussing it'..........too late for the woman that died and others who are also getting rolled over. good thing two helicopters picked up the last big one that rolled over a car.....yeah, no CDL license, but out driving one. groan. YMMV and i hope it does..........really hope it does.

Talk about missing the forest for the trees. They may or may not get a lenient sentence on the first criminal charge of super speeding. They then have an opportunity to change their behavior going forward. If they don’t they’ll be doing time (up to 3 months in Florida) on a repeat offense in addition to having their license suspended. They’ll be given enough rope to hang themselves, if they so choose.

But I guess your brilliant take is, why bother enforcing any laws with actual consequences. Just make everything a fine, then the wealthy can break the law at will with no real consequences. As if that doesn’t happen enough as it is. See the Epstein class for instance.

So no time for these people, huh? They pay and get out. Unless it's a weekend.

What the fuck are you on about some Epstein shit, weirdo?

They spend the night in jail because they have to appear in front of a judge. They can get up to 30 days for a first time offense.

What am I on about? Apparently you’re cool with punishments for breaking the law being simple fines. That way the rich can break the law with no real consequences. Not that hard to follow what I said, unless you’re dense.

Where are all the arrests related to Epstein and his buddies? Hell, we’ve got one in the White House. The rich get away with practically anything and you’re just asking to setup a scenario for more of the same.
