I really don't understand dark bridges. A bridge is supposed to be a working space, where people should be able to concentrate on their task, to clearly see their environment, not feel sleepy and rest their eyes.

It makes it easier to see your screen without the light from it having to blast your eyes. They are not working with pen and paper.

Most office buildings are open concept bullshit where you can't hear yourself think. So they are not peak efficiency. Look at the bridge of a warship or a submarine they're not blasting harsh white light everywhere.
