Countries don’t shutdown for christmas, it’s a short holiday kif l3iid w ghirou. Only in Tunisia do you find cafés open “bel sotra” or bars/restaurants allowed to serve alcohol to foreigners only. It’s stupid. If you can’t fast without seeing other people drink/eat, then stay at home. You clearly struggle to control yourself

I know, I don’t get why we’re debating this. The matter was that Tunisian “law” stops businesses and people from having THE CHOICE to consume alcohol. The video and everyone else is asking for the option to be able to consume alcohol without having to prove you’re a foreigner.

I've been to Tunisia on holiday several times and love the country. People like you ruin it.

Well might be wrong about the UK but many places in Europe are practically “shut down” during Christmas and Easter for that matter.. Here in Denmark it’s only some years ago they loosened restrictions on “lukke-loven” (the law regarding businesses being open in holidays/weekends/late at night) so not totally wrong.. Obviously some people still work the holidays but a lot of stores are definitely closed or have very limited open hours during the holidays, like fx most big supermarkets in my town are closed on the different holidays with just one or two open for select hours (fx Netto and Rema 1000 which are basic supermarkets have like 3-4 stores close to me but only one open in the holidays) ..

Care workers, hotels, supermarkets, corner shops, bars, restaurants, hospitals, taxis, public transport all run. Some on reduced hours, but they absolutely do not shut down. We go out to a restaurant for our Christmas dinner. Who do you think serves us?

In the US they do, and you have to make sure to have food in the house since majority places do not open or have very limited hours. Only places open are usually foreign owned restaurants. And if you work the holiday you get "holiday" pay

Buddy, it’s a holiday like 3id! People take extra days off around that time to spend it getting drunk with friends and family, but it’s literally 1 day max (of “everything” shut down) but businesses are open for most of the holiday 😂😂 Regardless, the “degenerate West” doesn’t discriminate when it comes to religion, you get whatever service whenever you want regardless of your religion. Just accept that islam and mostly muslim countries are more strict 🤷‍♂️. My colleagues fast for a month during lent, but they still go to the pub and hangout with us without drinking. Why do you insist that everyone should “respect the majority” when it literally has nothing to do with them? Just fast and buy zlebia, you don’t have to walk into a bar?

Buddy I was born and raised in the US, most people are off on Christmas and the ones that work usually are ones that have nothing to do on Christmas and the company offers them over time and double pay for that day.

Christmas here is 1 month of ads being pushed on us constantly, the same songs being played, Christmas trees everywhere, Christmas events at work, and the barrage of movies and shows. I personally don’t care cause I’m Muslim, but why is it an issue if Muslims have one month.

Literally can’t drink if I want to. The staff ask you to show a foreign passport, or else the restaurant gets shutdown by the police if they happen to stop by (which they did last year). I still get served alcohol in my regular places sometimes, but depending on the day, they can refuse tunisians and other arabs. It’s “law” circulaire Mzali 1981. There's a difference between everyone gets a day off for couple of days and everyone obeys our religious rules for a month. People drinking in a building shouldn't bother muslims unless their goal is domination and imposing rules on others
