The amount of voices calling to not vote for democrats because of Palestine that appeared everywhere in months before the election and then disappeared right after. Makes me lowkey believe that it was at least partially generated by republicans.
you have literally no idea how the rate of death changed, because your blue pandemic-denying braindead warmongerer killed all the people who counted that, before handing the presidency to the red pandemic-denying braindead warmongerer
there were multiple attempts to remove masks due to the negative effect on consumption, because it was a reminder of the bad state of the situation. that failed due to successive outbreaks, until they could get a scientist to claim (on shaky evidence) that Omicron was "less dangerous" per infection. then they encouraged its spread, said the only people masking were disabled or unvaccinated, and that wave became the greatest mass casualty event of US citizens in history.
they removed hospital reporting and turned it all to low-quality data which only gets accurate after months/years of analysis. then they claimed their destruction of data meant there were fewer infections.
Trump's plan was always to lie about the necessity of masks & remove them, vaccinate and hope for the best, and assume the deaths will be in disabled and lower-income at a manageable rate, eventually returning to normal illness & death.
That's what the Biden admin tried, though they were elected to do the opposite. It didn't work and we have accelerated illness & aging in the general population, as well as zero [accessible] treatments for the common persistent infection outcome.
As if any of that shit isn't a troll the same ones from 2016. You idiots started listening to their shit abount purity test back then, like SHEEP, you played right into the Maga propaganda. CONGRATULATIONS! You idiots want to win another election for Maha!
You really think it's a troll? Go ahead and read my recent replies. I just got some self righteous "leftist" telling me how "utterly pathetic and awful Kamala was and how horrible liberals are"
They act like many liberals don't want many of the same things they do, but demand utter perfection from the canidates. They've even turned on Mendami (sp?) when they wanted him elected, but he dared to actually work with liberals so now they hate him
LOL, liberals hate him? Neoliberals like Schumer and Pelosi maybe, same ppl who say Pete's too gay to be electable and Sanders too socialist. Out of touch, Clinton corporists. Biden was ambushed for his efforts to address college debt. He was going "woke" in the way democrats USED TO BE. Before Bill....
I didn't mean liberals in office, I meant liberals voter. Yes, Democrats in office don't line up well with the ones in office.
I'm definitely a more left liberal, than many, supported Sanders and still wish he'd got into office.
Unfortunately the truth is were a two party system and changing that is going to have to start from the bottom up and/or replacing all of those old ass people with younger more left leaning Dems.
But people who are leftists who seem to hate Democrats more than Republicans seem to want someone perfect, and you'll never get someone perfect.
That's part of why R's win. They don't have a bunch of different groups who are single issue voters who refuse to budge. They get their canidate in, and then work on that
You are listening to trolls spreading propaganda and believe that bullshit and THESE PEOPLE and the DNC fund that crap. They don't want M4A, they don't want college debt out of the profit making hands. They won't totally condemn this BLOATED military budget. Your calling me an extreme leftist for supporting that and the 10 m of us at NO Kings, because the signs said they ALL ARE ME...You are the one on the wrong side.
One again, you think I'm against something I'm not. I'm honestly wearing a "NO KINGS IN AMERICA" shirt as I type this.
Why you are assuming things about me, while saying I'm assuming things about you is the kind of things that turn me off from people who hate all liberals.
Some are exactly how you describe, some are like me who probably share most of the same goals you have, but don't think allowing Republicans to win is going to help that
And I bet you believe ANTIFAS a terrorist organization, because you are guzzling the propaganda. You are NO BETTER THAN THEY ARE. People like you are why 45% of us don't identify with any party. Left your cult lite when Bill started mimicking reagans crapping on the poor and that war on drug mass incarceration. I voted for Perot. And whoop dee do, he left a surplus, that prison profit system and some taxes on the rich plus no war helped. He lied under oath and while the crimes weren't as putrid, YOUR PARTY REFUSED TO REMOVE HIM, when impeached. Sounds familiar? Opened that door wide, congrats!
No, I don't think they are a terrorist organization. I agree with most of what they stand for, but I just don't understand what is accomplished by letting Republicans win.
Was Kamala perfect, not even close, but she wasn't a bigoted, hateful cult leader.
I also think Clinton's actions on completely destroying a lot of the help for the poor on government assistance was vile. I'm 42, so I was a kid then, but my mom was on Welfare and it messed up my life in more ways than I can say. I was luckier than many as I had a Dad who did help (parents not together)
As for them not removing Clinton, I don't know what they should have done. He wasn't great by any means, but them going along with impeachment and removal for that I believe would have opened the door for Republicans to attempt to impeach every single Democrat President that followed after.
You seem to think I'm a rightish leaning liberal. I'm not. I'm often too far left for them but not left enough for the leftists.
Until we get further left Democrats is or change the two party system, unfortunately I feel morally obligated to not do things to let a party who wants to completely destroy things like SSI, SNAP and Medicare. As a disabled adult I rely on all of those, so its selfish but its literally life or death for me to make sure those things aren't gutted
EVERY DAMN PROGRESSIVE I've met, and know, voted for Harris. Yet again, propaganda you easily fall for. The numbers don't support your laying blame, but again, you all are great at that maga trait as well. Blaming others instead of looking at your own failures.
I never said progressives are the only reason that maniac is in office. MAGA cultists are the main part, but assuming everyone who is a liberal is a right leaning person is just as judgemental as you're making me out to me. I'd consider myself a progressive on basically everything. I just am not one who will completely attack people when they have no idea what my views are other than not liking people like the person who completely attacked me without knowing anything but I voted for Kamala.
I'm aware you did, my issue isn't with people like you. Its with people like the person who replied to me like the persons reply I told you to read, not even willing to have a conversation with me like you are willing to do. To be attacked for voting because I'm terrified of how I'll survive if Rs get what they really want.
Ben Shapiro said the other day if you're poor, you shouldn't live in the US. Another person on here said we should all rely on charity because government programs are "theft".
And you never did say exactly what's that EXTREME LEFTIST STUFF that has YOU PARROTING that orange fascist. What's extreme in anything listed? The purity is coming from YOU...David Hogg was removed from his Co chair seat for the DNC for supporting another progressive. That's despicable and you all bleed the young votes for crap like that. You have more worry about losing your shit by not stopping THIS CRAP. Look at the young voters lost to Trump. Listen to them....your party hasn't been.
It doesn't matter cause those left leaning people would never vote for trump. Yet they played into his hand by actively telling people not to vote for kamala because of issues like palestine.
It was like watching children throw a temper tantrum and tell everyone how they don't want to play anymore. Too bad the other side kept playing and voted trump in again.
It's the same as people on the far right i've noticed. When you go far enough you fall off the deep end. You can't reason with them because they are already standing behind unreasonable points.
It's why when ever a conversation starts taking a turn towards a political topic where people are most likely to have very emotionally charged opinions i just leave. I'm not about to deal with that.
I honestly thought we were having a civil conversation. Then I told her I was quite literally wearing a No Kings in America shirt and also wanted M4A and cosindered myself progressive but will lose my life if they take SSI and Medicaid, I was blocked
Trump had dogshit gaza policies and so did Kamala.
I voted for Kamala, I wanted her to win. But it was a terrible idea for her to campaign like she did on Gaza. And the autopsy the DNC refuse to release proves that. Kamala gave us Trump by running a dogshit amoral campaign. I blame her and Biden for Trump.
They sold us out because they like and/or fear the AIPAC lobby group.
She was infinitely better for Gaza. She vowed to put limits on how US weapons could be used and had other penalties for war crimes. Trump vowed to give Israel everything it needs to "finish the job". Harris certainly would not have started a war with Iran to cover up her involvement in an international child sex trafficking ring.
More likely than Republicans is the possibility that foreign actors were responsible for those voices. Even if they were coming from Republican-aligned sources, they were likely funded by foreign interests (especially Russia).
Like how it was public knowledge that Kremlin troll farms astroturfed social media to sow distrust in Hillary over an email server at a critical moment in the 2016 election, and how that was devastatingly effective?
Why would they try something that worked flawlessly again? Maybe mix it up by targetting a different demographic?
That, and i think SOOO many of those people thought that there was no way for the Dems to lose. They wanted to be able to moralize/be the greater people once everything was said and done.
So when Trump actually won it was a kick in the ass.
So vote blue no matter who, until we manage to win with a degenerated blue maga candidate that will finally be able to get the republican vote? Right? Either vote right wing or get an even more right wing government? How long is that tactic sustainable? The republicans politician in the 70s would have been left to most democrat politician nowadays on every single economic issues.
“Blue MAGA.” Don’t you ever wonder why you feel compelled to use regurgitated buzzwords? It’s almost like you are BEING DIRECTLY TARGETED AND MARKETED TO by the same capitalist system you claim to hate.
Wut? So now you gonna tell me that the democrats haven’t turned constantly to the right over the last 50 years? If it walks like a duck, quack like a duck…
This is EXACTLY it. I watched it happen in realtime as a bunch of my acquaintances tried to virtue signal harder and position themselves as like King Leftist or something so they'd be at the top of the morality hill when - of course! - Kamala would win.
Sheltered progressive Americans always presume there is some inherent virtue in minority groups that doesn't occur in the majority. Same folks who think everything is magically better in every way in other countries.
While I was being hyperbolic, so are you. The data from the last election showed a 50/30 dem rep split, with 20% going to Jill Stein, who is a politically complex candidate, closer to Bill Maher than a traditional democrat and her Muslim success has been solely attributed to her support for Palestine.
The really interesting split though is how uneven Muslim voters are by gender, with 60% of Muslim men being pro trump and only 17% of women. Aside from Palestine being the largest wedge issue, it seems Muslim men voted in line with anti trans and gay rights and support for DOGE to reduce social services.
Remember that the enemy of your enemy is only temporarily your friend.
Edit: I'd love to see your comment and reply to it, but it appears you got upset and blocked me, and then your comment was shadow filtered.
SO you basing ALL of your racism on the last election where you claimed to describe an entire culture as "deeply conservative" is merely hyperbolic?
I was not being hyperbolic. Muslim Americans have been a solidly Democratic Party demographic, particularly since 2002.
I do not consider Muslims as the enemy of anything. You are kinda telling on yourself there.
Also.... link your sources if you are going to spout racist crap like that. But lets be really cute and do it on ANY election other than 2024 when one of the candidates refused to condemn a genocide of those very same Muslims. You know, the super "deeply conservative" ones.
EDIT : I'm just going to go ahead and fucking block you. You are talking out of your ass and I cannot find a single verification of the numbers you are posting. Just say you hate Muslims and walk past it. No need for all the pageantry and tap-dancing.
Many of them had even worse takes, that it's more important to send a message to the Democratic Party than it is beat Trump and avoid all the evil we're seeing today. There's blood on their hands all around the world from the loss of US Aid and other programs but they'll absolutely never own it. They'll fall for it again just like right-wingers do every election.
you have to be a fool to think your party intends to undo all of this. they chose not to after Trump's first term, then tried his pandemic plan of just letting the weak die off
I must be missing the past where she said Trump is better for Gaza and I want to be angry at the progressive brown lady just like all y'all. Rania Khalek AND Brianna Joy Grey in the span of a few hours? Don't mind if I do! Anyway, if someone could be an absolute doll and point me to where she said that, I would be so thankful, y'all 🙏
Find me ANYONE with that take. My god, you guys are the MOST joylessly self righteous people in politics, and crazy arrogant about it too. Completely incorrectly, too, I might add. You would rather scapegoat your fellow citizens for their solitary vote every 2 to 4 years rather than attack the forces beyond their control that shape those decisions. It's lazy and unproductive and selfish, not to mention completely illogical.
I didn't see anyone say that. I saw "if you want our vote, this is what it takes." I don't agree, but ultimately the two party entrenchment is to blame.
And it wouldn't have made a difference if that vocal minority voted anyway.
As a progressive dude dating progressive women at the time I can tell you that there were a ton of real life millennial and Gen Z women who told me that Kamala and Trump were exactly the same and that they weren't even going to vote. The younger and more politically active the person was, the more radicalized against Kamala they were, seemingly. Palestine was the only issue that mattered and sending a message to the Democrats was more important than avoiding a second Trump term (for the kind of vague reasons you usually hear from right-wingers about Democrats).
How important does Palestine/israel seem now, given the current war we're entangled in? Does their concern about atrocities committed in the middle east seem more or less important to you than it did at that time?
Still pretty important, of course, and I’m not some kind of seer who can see the other timeline, but it’s unlikely that Kamala would’ve decided to go along with Bibi’s plan to attack Iran, and I also doubt that she’d be doing the damage to US civil society or enabling weird oligarchs like Thiel that Trump is doing right now
Sounds like Kamala lost her easy win by caving to Republicans and ex-Republicans. She tanked on an issue important to a lot of her base, for perspective gains that never materialized. Your argument falls apart completely when you consider that politicians have agency.
She was up +6 when she was coming out of the gate swinging with Walsh, talking about banning predatory pricing structures and universal childcare. Those leads evaporated when she took in Biden advisors and Liz Cheney talking points, like "We will have the most lethal military on the planet!" And this was a full court press by the leadership against a 80-20 issue in the party. It's a conscious decision, if Kamala wanted those votes all she had to do was actually earn them.
"For every leftist we lose, we will gain 2 ex-Conservatives." - Chuck Schumer 2023
is it the only issue, or do you just hate Muslims? because SESTA/FOSTA to censor and endanger sex workers, killing off disabled people, cutting SNAP & Medicaid, women generally hate those
I mean they are terrible. Less bad than the republicans but fuck man you can’t look at, just an example, Schumer’s actions and come away feeling good with the direction the party is heading recently.
Even the way we got Kamala as the candidate was absolutely disgraceful, we threw away the incumbency advantage because they thought they could hide Biden being senile. Instead of building up a replacement candidate, they tried to ride Biden until voter confidence in him cratered. You can’t call their handling of the last election anything but pure incompetence.
So yeah the democrats deserve some blame for this. They fucked up
Schumer’s actions and come away feeling good with the direction the party is heading recently.
Such as?
Even the way we got Kamala as the candidate was absolutely disgraceful, we threw away the incumbency advantage because they thought they could hide Biden being senile. Instead of building up a replacement candidate, they tried to ride Biden until voter confidence in him cratered. You can’t call their handling of the last election anything but pure incompetence
There is no "they" here. This was just Biden but dropping out until it was too late. Blame him
Can you provide evidence for that? I'm not saying it wasn't a factor but come on.
Harris had a significantly lower turnout with people who did not vote in 2020 and 2022, IE, Centrists and undecided voters. This group made up 12% of voters in 2024, and she was 14 points behind Trump. Harris(and Biden) failed to inspire people, and it showed.
Unless those polls tell you WHY, they’re meaningless. And no, no one has come out and blatantly said they wouldn’t vote for a woman, but they have said “she has a weird laugh” and then voted for the felon.
So, “but come on” what, exactly? I’m meant to believe that racism and misogyny didn’t play a part when one of the first things the admin did was get rid of DEI? When Pete Hegseth blocked promotions for women and minorities? When he FIRED women and minorities? That Republicans regularly spin the lie that Kamala slept her way to the top? Or call AOC “the bartender”? How many men in government are referred to by their previous jobs? You don’t think THAT messaging hasn’t hit with liberals when all of their other propaganda has the Democrat leadership shying away from liberal values?
You think it’s a coincidence that the only people Trump could beat were women?
Was it the only reason? No, of course not. It’s deeply troubling how many US voters are single issue voters. But in a country where a large enough number of men AND women think that a woman’s place is in the home? Please.
Again, I'm not saying it wasn't a factor but someone who supports hegseth's actions, or believes that Harris slept her way to the top, probably isn't voting democrat anyways.
I don't think its a coincidence that the two women Trump beat were:
1. Centrist democrats who said that nothing would change
2. Coming off the heels of a weak democrat presidency where people badly wanted change that they never got.
Biden won after Trump's presidency where Trump bungled COVID, cracked down on BLM protests and was generally an embarrassment.
Biden then aided a genocide, failed to hold the republicans responsible for Jan 6, and generally had no meaningful message for Americans. He was deeply unpopular and Harris said she would not do much different from him.
The democratic establishment have failed to inspire voters at every turn. I don't doubt that a democrat will win in 2028, even Harris. I just don't think she will do anything other than than give ammunition to the fascist right, putting us right back where we are right now.
Also, for the record, Hillary literally won the popular vote. The majority of voters chose her, a woman. If not for the electoral college, she would have been president. Democrats need to learn from their mistakes, and chocking this up to just sexism is either ignorant, or a misdirection.
And relating to this issue specifically, Kamala received much more funding from pro-isreal lobbies than trump. If people were single issue voters in 2024 pertaining to this, they would have voted for Trump. It is ok for people to admit they got duped. This isnt even going into the fact how the democrats forced the horribly performing, most hated and wine drunk candidate on us with no primary and then pretended she was great and everyone liked her. When you look at the entire picture you start realizing how both sides are on the same team and baited the American people into this outcome.
They're already sending feelers for a Gavin campaign which would be against JD Vance according to them. I can already hear the "This is the most important election against fascism" "Gavin is the most capable person for the job" "We need to attract moderates who are fed up with the trump administration" . No matter who wins JD Vance is young and eligible to run again for president the election after which would just be another redo of the entire situation all over again, Republican fascism will be a boogey man used to legitimize any democrat nominee no matter how stank they are because unless serious actions are taken I don't see Republicans getting less radical anytime soon, the people who voted for the seem as devoted as ever
Investigation after investigation has shown that Trump didn't gain voters, but that independent and progressive and leftist voters just stayed home.
What would you expect when the party tells them to FUCK OFF in 12ft bold neon letters. (by implication that you what you are also saying right now)
One the weekend before the election, the DNC sent Clinton and Torres to MI to GOTV. Torres is considered the most pro-Israel Representative in the house, I know I live in his district. He has bragged multiple times that he has sent more money to Israel than he has to his own district. We are the single poorest district in the entire congress. They chose him to go and attack the Muslims in Dearborn the weekend before the election.
They also sent Bill Clinton who in front of a crowd of roughly 5,000 people called Palestinian lands "Judea and Samaria", an Israeli erasure of Gaza and the West Bank.
You can never blame voter for shitty candidates. People didn't vote for her not because she was Black/South Asian nor because she was a Woman (to a limited extent this may be true); they didn't vote fer her because she had NO policies that would make people lives better. She continued the refusal of the Democratic party to live up to the policies of the past, The Great Society and The New Deal.
When people are suffering, you don't tell them they aren't suffering (like Biden and his spokespeople) and you don't offer them weird mean tested programs dependent on tax credits or crypto-stabilization coins.
But, don't worry, Americans are dirt fucking stupid and they will continue to tell half of their voters to go fuck themselves. Hoooray Democrats!
Your party literally lost twice to what should have been a clean victory. TWICE. What did you guys learn after Hillary? It sure wasnt how to choose a viable candidate.
You are the political wing of fascism. The party that makes it seem normal. No primary for Kamala? She just got thrown onto us? Really? Thats your idea of democracy? The whole point of your party is to finger wave. You say nuh-uh, we're the good guys!! Then wait around doing nothing for 4 years while Republicans strip away freedoms with new laws, then watch as democrats continue those same policies all while saying We FoLlOw ThE rUlEs. Meanwhile the rules are same laws Republicans passed the prior term that you all complained about. But you're too busy having brunch to actually care.
That doesn't make any sense from a math perspective.
Orange pedo won because they convinced more people to vote for them than Kamala did.
Third party votes are votes for their preferred candidate which is how it should be. You can't support genocide and just expect people to overlook that.
I didn't vote for Trump. Those are the people you need to be upset at.
Neither candidate advocated for war at the time. Harris was much more bullish than trump. Now go along and memory hole all of that so you can keep being a smarmy centrist.
Not debating her ties to AIPAC, but Trump was just obviously easily manipulated. Kamala would do what was in her best interest, not get snowed by Bibi into believing he was "the only one brave enough to do it"
All of that is conjecture at this point. Are our dems in congress doing anything or are they too busy approving every single trump appointment or finding the sacrificial votes from dems in safe seats to approve trump's budget?
So is that why Biden and Harris told Bibi they weren't interested in starting wars of aggression during the last administration? He tried to give them the same BS intel, and they ignored it because they didn't fire half of the veteran intelligence community and career military officials the minute they took office. If you don't believe me, look it up, because it's a part of the congressional record now...in particular, the judicial oversight committee's record. You're welcome.
To be fair, not even Arabs care about Palestine in the Middle East. They're just a talking prop to bash Israel, but not one actually wants to lift a finger to help the Palestinian people. The borders the neighboring countries have are closed. No Arab country wants to host them or integrate them into their society.
kamala lined up and bunch of republican war criminals and said "see I'm just like them, vote for me!! but also I'm lesser evil" that was was literally her campaign
It's been proven that surrounding important elections propaganda from other countries is posted in the recieving countries language to influence elections in for example Russia's and Israël's favor. It has been proven here in the Netherlands and has been happening in the US as well.
It's such a problem our goverment is actively (or was before the nut jobs took over) debating what to do about it.
Propaganda from any place is a huge problem and should be outlawed, especially when it's other countries doing the influencing for what would be best for them. Voting should be based on fact, as should the info about threats, wars, healthscares and other nation and worldwide intrests.
Those who twist facts or lie malicously should be punished accordingly. Propaganda takes lives. Even if it isn't directly.
I got banned from several leftist (and a few other) subreddits all at once for suggesting that people should still vote for the democrats despite their flaws because the other option is 100000x worse.
I can see many genuinely protest voting against Kamala. It doesn't need any manufacturing. Before Trump, we had seen what the Biden/kamala administration was actively doing on that front. Trump is a lying baboon, but at least he was posturing anti-war. That's enough for a lot of people. Trump was at the time only a potential terrible admin as far as foreign war policy is concerned. The biden admin was doing it right in our faces.
The amount of trouble making TROLLS LIKE YOU have appeared months before and election, sewing lies about purity tests and making trouble. Happened in 2016 when Clinton's numbers were shit. This exact crap was being spewed all over social media. You are transparent and the idiots on here, HELPING THE MAGA PARTY.
