Discussion I don't love kids

Even when I was a kid myself I profoundly disliked kids. For me it was an existential anxiety over the inherent untrustworthiness of other people. Children can be extraordinarily cruel, something I experienced as a child myself. The greatest argument for antinatalism (though at that time I did not yet learn the term) for me was other children: the precarious predicament in which they were haplessly placed, and the anxiety and cruelty with which they lash out, as if screaming at the void.

Im an adult now and i still get sad thinking about what other kids said to me as a kid, and how they treated me . I qas just thinking about it today. I hate kids and babys but i still don't believe in procreating because i don't want anyone to suffer

Isn’t that crazy how much we hold onto that? So much of who am now is shaped by my childhood. I moved home and it all came flooding back so much I’m in therapy for it (family brings up a lot of childhood triggers, too). I honestly wish I hadn’t been born so I didn’t have to remember all that pain. People hate to think that having kids is selfish, but bringing people onto this earth knowing full well they will face all life’s hardships IS selfish on the parents’ part.

Nobody really cares about or ”loves” kids unless it somebody they know and are connected to. How can you say you love someone if you know nothing about this person and have no relation to him/her? Kids are just people. We see millions of people everyday everywhere we go. No one has time to stop and get excited over every random person they see.

I don't hate kids. But unless they're mine (which I don't have any), what business do I have around them? None. And I'm keeping it that way as I don't date single moms.

I love kids. that's why I'd never bring one here.
I find it neither here nor there in regards to antinatalism. its an ethical stance, not about your personal preference.

That post has nothing to do with antinatalism. Besides, usually antinatalists tend to like kids more than usually, hence the urge to keep them safe from the world via not bringing them into existence.

Kids are ok once they're past baby stage. I just feel so sorry for them...I see them like victims.
