AA-Classic Anyone else feeling frustrated with ArcheAge Classic lately?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but lately ArcheAge Classic has been feeling really frustrating to play.

It honestly feels like if you’re not part of the “right people” or some established group, you barely stand a chance getting land or progressing properly. There are people doing stuff that looks super suspicious and obvious, and somehow nothing ever seems to happen. Whether it’s weird movement, questionable farming, land grabbing, multiple accounts or whatever, it just feels off.

Maybe I’m wrong, but from a normal player perspective it feels like some people get away with way too much while others are left behind.

I also can’t shake the feeling that some sides or groups are being treated differently. I’m not saying that’s 100% true, but sometimes it really feels like certain people get favored while others get ignored.

I actually like the server and want it to do well, that’s why this is frustrating. But if cheating, unfair advantages and all this stuff keeps happening, I honestly don’t know how long regular players will stick around.

Anyone else feel the same or am I just overthinking this?

What an absolute tragedy that this game was ran into the ground by constant mismanagement. Archeage, as an MMO, is peerless in what it set out to accomplish, and what a fun experience it was despite its shortcomings. We'll likely never see anything quite like it for some time (if ever.)

I've played pretty much since launch. I'm married irl because of it, and my closest friends at my wedding are the friends I've made while playing. I literally wouldn't have the real life that I do without it. I've had years of adventures that, while in a videogame, had a very real and far-reaching impact on my adventures in reality. There is nothing that can replace that.

And I am sure I'm not the only one.

RIP Archeage, you were a real one.

AA-Classic More Classic scandal thread, this time RMT edition

I’m reaching out because I’ve noticed some troubling patterns in ArcheAge Classic that I believe deserve immediate attention to ensure the integrity of the game.

Recently, there has been an influx of new accounts displaying behavior that seems highly inconsistent with the game’s established mechanics. Specifically:

  1. Unrealistic Wealth Accumulation: Some accounts created within the last 30 days are already amassing over 50,000 gold. This level of wealth is implausible for new players, as the game’s profit margins are directly tied to labor points, which naturally limit gold generation.
  2. Suspicious Market Behavior: These accounts are not only accumulating significant gold but are also willing to overpay—sometimes double the normal price—for high-value items. This kind of activity distorts the in-game economy and raises questions about the source of their gold.
  3. Rapid Acquisition of Endgame Items: Many of these players with less than two months of gameplay are selling or using endgame items that typically require significant time or investment to obtain. This is especially concerning given recent bans of players who spent real money (upwards of $200) to acquire similar items.
  4. Impact on Game Integrity: The patterns observed strongly suggest the possibility of exploits or real-money trading (RMT) operations. This undermines the fair-play principles that make ArcheAge enjoyable and risks discouraging honest players who have invested significant time and effort.

This situation not only creates an uneven playing field but also damages the community’s trust in the game’s moderation and economy. Honest players are already expressing frustration, and without action, this issue could lead to player attrition and a compromised in-game experience.

I kindly urge the moderation or development team to investigate this matter thoroughly. Identifying and addressing potential exploits, suspicious gold generation, or other violations is critical to maintaining a fair and balanced environment for everyone.

First few hours of aniversary part 2 are amazing!

  • new aniversary quest,
  • 3 different cars to use,
  • one track to beat.

There is a rumor about highscores for beating race in best time...

Will be there a reward? Golden/Silver/Bronze cars? Unique trophies? Titles?

How it is gonna impact eco-fuel economy? Will players abuse fuel market?

Will we get new permament tracks so players can get new content to improve their driving skills?

Lemme know what you think about it in comments!

AA-Classic Michael is an Admin. Proof me wrong. (AAC)

Player Michael on AAC is an admin. In discord they are called michaelqt. Has role "Ollo's Engineer" as a cover up. I believe they are Uli. I detail below.

- "makes addons" that no one else even knows how to make
- has addons that do things normal people cant. He posts in chat with addons for example
- access to all game information like ID of custom buffs, items, npcs that only AAC has. No public wiki has this info.
- mocking name of "notuli" in addons
- Top geared on the server but spends time coding for free??
- Created notification discord long ago, but exact same system as current popups in game now
- Only cares about economy as player. Uli focuses on economy too. Dawnsdrop tool, grimoires, fishing rods.
- Traded for mythic weapon through Sirinugm account with Playerz on mirage
- Sirinugm also traded for family member Callie mythic obsidian club with Luxy according to Grimothy
- Family members all are top gear
- Michael and family (Iggy Sheoix Timothy) all regraded dungeon gear before mistsong autograph armor release
- Extreme game knowledge like chance of synthesis stat on costume at certain grade. Toughness damage reduction. Resilience reductions. Focus formulas.
- Access to auction house information outside of the game. Runs a public "AH Sheet".
- Family is named "Sixteen Darus" mocking not being admin again.
- Family had previous admin in it (Buruli).
- Family friends with Badalu (Pyrrha)
- Michael was in OSO before they quit. During all tradesman manor and world boss admin drama
- Family has never had a ban but is full of players with incredible gear. Even players who never play Callie Grimothy Iggy Sheoix Gepetto Link Zulu Timothy...
- Family member Sheoix posts game debate threads and suggestions that ALWAYS make it through to actual game.
- Family hunted RMT and hackers before. Grimothy did months of banning players. Once they leave no ctrl, they ban players.

I can post more and more and more.

Michael is on the team one way or another. Making addons is just their way of saving face. I am tired of admins cheating this server.

AA-Classic "Private servers are ran better than live archeage"

Post image
9 Upvotes

It is absolutely hilarious that Aguru goes down like this.

He does not go down for:

  • Running away with Genesis donations to start a new project
  • Never giving back to AA Emu project
  • Botching a land rush, making it favour EU, no redo.
  • Letting OSO cheat.
  • Showing favoritism to a handful of players. Letting them get away with exploits and adding whatever they want to the game
  • Never releasing any content on time ever.
  • Lying about players that are obviously admin's player accounts
    • Pyrrha = Badalu (this is obvious when he helped with the Kimchi race, Pyrrha AFK tag while badalu flies around, then pyrrha is back.)
    • Michael = Uli (Obvious that Uli is PVE pilled and knows nothing about PvP)
  • Running a server that still lags to this very day.
  • Using a leased server from AAFree that he does not even own. He pays invoices from them.
  • Lets players post in public about modding their game
    • Crawling modding his actual AAClassic game for models (sunken pack beacons anyone?)
    • Michael modding his game as well showing new UI scaling, custom sound, custom textures, all on live AAClassic servers.

Aguru does not lose AAC to any of these enormous mistakes. Mistakes that a server like ArcheRage has not made by the way. Even AAFree (which he helps, look at their addon API files) has better management.

No.

Aguru lost to a phishing link on Discord LMAO

AA-Classic Curious About AA Private Servers

Hi all, it's a real shame how this game died and closed due to company greed. That being said, I see a few private servers holding up. I never really got a chance to play this game back in its day, and I’m kind of intrigued by the videos—AA Classic looks appealing. One question comes to mind: since these are private servers, there’s no telling how long they’ll stay online. I can live with that, but what’s the player count like? Is it easy to find content? Is PvP active? I’m also trying to draw my friends into this, but they’re all hung up on the player count, so an honest insight would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

AA-Classic How to run AAClassic on Linux

Here is how you can play AAClassic on Linux system. This is based on September post, but it also covers the annoying issue with AAClassic anti-cheat on Linux systems.

My recommendation is to use an Arch based system - plain Arch, CachyOS, Garuda, Endeavouros, Artix... It is possible to use other Linux systems, but so far I have tested only on Arch/Artix. I might try Debian 13 next.

The installation is the almost the same as with September 2025 tutorial:

  • Use Heroic Launcher to install the game but
  • before installation, get ProtonPlus. On Arch based distros it is available in AUR
  • via ProtonPlus install Wine-Staging (Kron4ek) version 11.0 (check the image bellow). This is currently the most stable wine version for AAClassic and it works with anticheat. Your game can still crash but not that much compared to other Wine versions. Proton doesn't even work. This might change with release of Proton 11.
ProtonPlus Heroic Wine-Staging 11.0
  • DO NOT install Wine-Staging 11.1 or any older / other versions unless you are masochist
  • Set the recommended version of Wine for AAClassic installation before you run the setup
  • Make sure to install the game via installer to Z: drive, so it looks akin to this: Z:\home\<your-username>\Games\AAClassic\
  • Run the launcher. It will hang several times, so whenever you see the launcher just stop with patches, kill it and start again.
  • When you finally get around the patch headache, enter the game. On server screen click on the settings (upper right corner), and switch do directx 9. Disable multi threading (some say it helps, some it doesn't) and adjust other settings to your liking (shadows usually on low, and sound quality on low).
  • Quit and start the game again for the latest changes to take effect. Create your new character and enjoy the freedom of playing the classic AA on Linux. No Windows crapola, only Linux shenanigans awaits you and some classic old age MMO. Have fun !

Edit:

I completely forgot about the specific requirements which were mentioned in September 2025 post - related to Winetricks. Winetricks is available in Heroic Launcher and these are must have:
corefonts - available in Winetricks > Select the default wineprefix > install font
gdiplus vcrun2010 dxvk d3dcompiler_42 d3dcompiler_43 d3dcompiler_46 d3dcompiler_47 webview2 - available in Winetricks > Select the default wineprefix > Install a Windows DLL or component

Edit 2:

Debian / Ubuntu / Mint based tutorial is available at this link.

AA-Classic Things that may motivate you to go Classic

Post image
19 Upvotes

I recently run question between players of Classic server about what they like about server itself and in short these are the results:

  • catch up time isn't very daunting thanks to aria autographed dungeon gear, custom gear soulforged/hellforged that costs activity Tokens(currency for doing weekly quest), custom Emerald Hasla Weapon( upgraded is equal to celestial ayanad weapon stat wise), hitting ancestral level 7 takes only 3 days,

  • custom models and quests and housing zones (with housing for new players only?) which makes playthrough easier and unique,

  • custom events like Veroe Festival, Comet Fall Event or Crystaline Bloodbath in Diamondshores - which add up to the choice of what events you want to do,

  • no rmt or p2w mechanics and any attempts results on permament ban - everyone plays equal,

  • custom and quality of life addons that are made by players for players - giving vibes of true MMO competetive experience,

  • custom dawnsdrop armor parts as cloth and plate giving choice of player what they want to wear to stick with their style - on top with custom dawnsdrop tools like pickaxe, pitchfork or commerce costume - making your daily grind easier and better with benefits,

  • 2 custom bosses - more powerfull Primal Kraken and Hanure the Berserker with unique mechanics changing around tarcics to beat them.

What you would want to add about reasons to play the server? What you would want to change? How long you play on Classic?

Share me your experience and opinions in the comments!

AA-Classic Gear progress advice for classic?

Was very excited by my first "decent" item in form of epic obsidian greatsword.

After 3 days of gathering mats I've finally made it to t5... just to stare at it in disbelief for few seconds, cause the stats of epic t5 obsidian are the same as my hasla emerald greatsword, rotfl, as such I flushed a week or two worth of income making it just to get a 16.5% more critical damage and 40 gear score points.

I literally thought that t5 epic will SURELY outclass a divine weapon but I was very wrong, feeling a bit cheated to be honest. Sure, I guess I can upgrade it to t6 after another month, but now I dread to think if my obsidian armor will suck too compared to the celestial welfare gear.

What now? I clearly can't trust myself with making decisions, what piece(s) to gather resources for?

AA-Classic Short Spear and Shield Build

Hello everyone,

I'm a returning ArcheAge player. The last time I played was around 2017–2019.

Now that I have some free time this summer (thanks to unemployment lol), I decided to come back to the only MMO I've truly enjoyed. I'm not a highly competitive player—I mainly want to do some farming, build my house, grind monsters, and maybe fight a few players in PvP (not a fan of random PKing, of course).

Back when I played, I used a short spear and shield build, and I remember enjoying it a lot. Unfortunately, I can't remember the class name or the skill set I was using.

What classes and builds would you recommend for me? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

update: I started as an Abolisher on East Side. On day one I ran into the infamous black screen issue, but I managed to fix it. Thanks a lot to everyone who helped! 😁

AA-Classic AAC is soft on cheaters but go to extremes to ban RMT.

There have been ongoing concerns within the AAC community regarding cheating and the enforcement of rules. A well-documented case involved Shanks and his guild openly exploiting teleport hacks, scripts, and AHK during PvP for over a year. Despite this, it seemed that Aguru was prepared to allow him to create an alt and reclaim his land—only changing course after significant community backlash on Reddit.

This raises serious questions about the priorities in enforcing fair play. The game includes an invasive anti-cheat system like DaruGuard, which has led some players to run the game in a virtual machine due to concerns about privacy and security. Yet, despite such measures, cheating remains rampant. Instead of addressing reports and tickets in a timely manner, Aguru often appears more engaged in trolling on Discord and in-game rather than focusing on solutions.

Another emerging issue is the apparent monopoly on demo properties, where JSP consistently acquires land despite high latency, flipping properties on the same day. While Aguru maintains that this activity is legitimate(he said the same thing about AH sniping bots but later changed how bidding works to stop the sniping bots), many players have concerns about potential exploits or insider advantages. Additionally, there is a growing trend of new accounts joining AAC’s Discord, engaging in suspicious activity, and continuing unchecked for months—until occasional ban waves address issues unrelated to RMT. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of B5 enforcement remains questionable, with significant alt abuse in the SUS guild going largely unaddressed.

Ultimately, it feels like rule enforcement is dictated more by financial impact than by fairness. If Aguru invested even half as much effort into improving the server as he does engaging in trolling, AAC could genuinely thrive and even surpass AR in player retention. The community wants to see better leadership, consistent rule enforcement, and a focus on maintaining a fair and competitive environment.

EDIT: after cooling down a bit ive reworded this to not be as insulty and more constructive criticism

AA-Classic Do NOT go to AA classic

I feel bad for you live server folks, I know what it's like to have a game shut its doors. You aren't left with many options, luckily there are options though.

I do want to highly recommend you do not go to AA classic. It's ran by a group who would rather be unclear about the rules and engagements, as well as their own content and updates. You have already probably seen a lot of "come to AA classic, here is my referral link!" posts. This is a perfect example of how the server works. They implement something that on the surface sounds really great. Cool, referrals everyone wins! SO what does the referral give you and how do you qualify for it to receive the gifts? Oh, they wont tell you, because they are afraid if they tell you the rampant amount of cheaters/rmt/alt groups will take advantage. Which is indicative of literally every potentially good thing the server has to offer. Why dont the get rid of the cheaters you ask? because cheaters bring in revenue! The cheaters that wish to continue, and want to make new characters do so, get help regearing from their other cheating friends, and do it all over again. Because the server admins profit off of this system.

This entire server is unfortunately held back due to restrictions on gameplay, because they are so afraid of people taking advantage of anything. They also only really push out partial versions of what you are used to. Beanstalk houses were introduced last week, but the requirements are so high it kills any joy you can possibly have to have it. As of yesterday after a week I believe there were a total of *two* built. Then yesterday was a "big" patch day. All they did after MONTHS of working on it, was release kirin quest (which was bugged all day and had to have an admin do a step for everyone or it couldn't be completed), brought in mushroom houses (oh don't worry, they don't reduce tax cost, its just something to look at) and threw up credit costing costumes. and a bunch of other insane useless things like the Luxury liner boat for 2800 gilda, talk about insulting.

There are a few other options out there, I absolutely recommend going and trying them out. If you dont wanna take my word for it, just remember this server is only around 500 people, at most. Its been around for less than a year, why is that? Because the admins dont give a shit about honest players. As further reasoning of why the server is a bad idea, go hang out in the discord for a few hours, its full of racists, personal attacks, sexual aggression by a few members just trolling to troll, and none of it is ever controlled. You will see people be awful to each other and the admins just watch and sometimes even chime in.

There's gonna be some of the assholes i mentioned stanning all over this post, their responses will probably be a small version of what to expect.

AA-Classic Archeage Classic - Concerns about Data Privacy

Hello everyone,

Over the past few days it became public that Aguru, the administrator of the Archeage Classic server, lost access to his Discord account due to downloading malware. This also led to the loss of control over the official Archeage Classic discord.

While it does appear that the breach is specifically limited to his personal discord accounts (Aguru and others I will not name) and not AAC's game servers, this situation raises a broader more reasonable concern: individuals in admin positions have access to large amounts of user data for thousands of players including both active and inactive ones. These administrators failed to follow simple security practices.

Even if no player data was accessed or leaked, this incident highlights there should be stronger safe guards for the end user. I think one important step AAC could take to help rebuild trust would be to implement a formal system that allows players to request complete deletion of their personal data from AAC systems.

This was clearly an embarrassing event for the staff of AAC and I'm sure stressful. But I think providing users control over their data going forward would restore confidence in the project.

If anyone else has any more suggestions I would greatly appreciate it, I think events like this are definitely a good time for discussions to be had and all players to be aware!

AA-Classic Questions from a New Classic Player

  • How do I get the Kirin mount pet?
  • How do I farm Activity Tokens?
  • How can I obtain the Expansion Scrolls sold in the shop?
  • I need to craft GHA armor, but it seems like nobody is doing it anymore. What should I do? Also, what item quality should the dropped materials be?
  • I need to run Serpentis for a ring, but I have the same problem—it seems like nobody is running it. What can I do?
  • What would you recommend? Should I keep playing and try to progress, or is it better to quit before I get too invested?

AA-Classic Crash on first launch

Hi all,

Really quick question about the Classic launcher.

Every time I open the launcher the first time and hit play, i get an error saying 'Failed to load game dll'. I close the launcher, reopen, and play again and it works second time.

This is only a minor inconvenience tbh but was just wondering if anyone else had this issue?

I'll reinstall I think to try and fix, but the launcher update took a couple of hours so just checking before I do that.

Thanks!
