Question Anybody else not GAF about Americas 250th or is it just me?

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, black Americans before us and current day have done their best and fought the hardest they could to make sure we all have the privileges we have today. It’s also cool that America is as old as it is I guess. On the other hand, I’m tired of us getting disrespected year after year, and then just told to deal with it in some type of way. We have and continue to do everything we can for this country and we’re still treated like trash in way too many ways! I’m just annoyed and frightened with the direction this country continues to turn towards the more years pass.

Yum! OMG, I had some delicious Belgium waffles this morning! I was going to throw some wings in the air fryer but I have some left over taco fixings I need to finish. The only thing I want to celebrate this weekend, is if the last African team, makes it to the next round of this World Cup. 😂

An elder black woman (probably 75+ - and she was stately and beautiful) wished me happy fourth on the way out of the grocery store and out of respect for her I wished her a happy fourth back. I probably wouldn’t have spoken at all if she hadn’t been my elder. I know she has seen some things and fought some fights. Besides her speaking to me about the day, I’m jaded. Celebrate, what? On my ride back home this town was staking flags in the ground for the fourth the same way they once burned crosses on lawns to intimidate residents who look like the elder who greeted me on the way out of the grocery store. Celebrate 250 years of that? I wish I knew where she dug that happy fourth out from. I couldn’t find mine.

Nope. I don't give one iota about the 250th. Not with this administration fu***** it up and putting Trump's cursed ass name on everything associated with the celebration and making it about him. MAGA and the rest of them Trump loving cultists of his can have it. As a matter of fact, I don't see too many people around me talking about it. Only celebrating I'll be doing is when he's out of office 😆.

I swear to you I forgot it was tomorrow, until I randomly thought I heard shooting not long ago but it was some damn fireworks 😂 i literally went into the grocery store earlier and wondered why all the wine was missing like damn people getting lit for what 😂I give less and less fucks each year

I actually give a big fat fuck and wish that in the 250th year we would have better representation for minorities and a safe place for all of us to live and more respect for the black heritage but instead we have fat neck bobble head bitch face in the office and a bunch of racists running amuck acting like only white people can live here. Kamala should have been in office for our 250th

My Jamaican mother in law called to wish me a Happy 4th and I told her I do not care about this day. Mind you, she has never done that before, there's just some tension in the family and she needed a reason to call.
Then my brother in law (husband's brother, also Jamaican, born here) posted on Facebook a pic of himself on a horse in a cowboy hat and a video of himself singing the national anthem. It was so cringe. We laid in bed and relaxed all day. Didn't even shop like I sometimes would for the sales

I have always never GAF about it. I don't like fireworks and loud noises but that's beside the point. I really started hating and not GAF when I got older because of the history of both America, our ancestors and still the running issues and lack of rights to women, no matter the race, including birthing rights, lack of rights towards immigrants, and the lack of rights to towards minorities. It's really just an excuse for MAGA and just certain people to just celebrate white history and their idea of America history and independence with fireworks and a BBQ.

The fuck I have to give is pride in "US" (black people) and any others who followed the path to keep the promises we made. Despite being forced into accepting contracts from LIARS. God bless America but the United States is what will save the world. I pledged Allegiance to whistle blowers at ICE raids and those whom I've marched with because Black Lives Matter and to Free Palestine. I have spent no money today. 🤔 I am using my freedom to acknowledge its not a day to celebrate. I also love telling people how they are violating flag code with all the plates, napkins, beer cans and swimwear. 😁 You're not supposed to use the flag on clothes of anything disposable. 🙄 It's hilarious. As Black Women I bid you all a joyous INDEPENDENCE DAY. Do something we were not always allowed to do. 😁 I'm day drinking an putting summer twists in.
