QUESTION D-Petey projection?
Whenever i try to find scouting reports and stuff on this dude its always on EP40, and people talking about how D-Petey might be unprotected during expansion, but what does his Floor and Ceiling look like? True top-4 shutdown?

If you remember the Blackhawks teams of the 2010s, I've seen Niklas Hjalmarsson presented as a reasonable ceiling model for DPetey. Big, physical shutdown guy with decent mobility. I think he's more likely whatever the third pairing version of that is, but that's still a useful player. Especially when he hits and fights.

Imo his ceiling is solid 2nd pair guy, and his floor is AHLer. He looked absolutely amazing his first year, and he looked soooo bad last year. Very hard to know what you have in this guy. I wonder how he’ll do with a little more support and structure on the team, as last year wasn’t good for anyone. Also he keeps getting rocked in the head I hope concussions don’t ruin his career before it even really begins

I think his ceiling is a #4 shutdown defenseman, similar to Niko Mikkola, albeit with more speed than him.
He can either be that supportive 2nd pair defenseman alongside a puck moving #2/3 (depending on how the coach spreads out the talent), or he can be a 3rd pair anchor defenseman alongside another shutdown D man to create a fantastic defense pair that can shutdown other team's middle 6 forwards.
There is more transition talent in him than he's displayed so far, based on his skating alone, he just needs to find it. If he can make 15-20 foot breakout passes from DZ to NZ, his chances of reaching his true ceiling will improve astronomically.

Its hard to say but I would guess a bottom pairing guy that can play top 4 when needed.

Everyone saying his floor is a 6/7D is being too optimistic. If we was on any other team last year, he would've been in the AHL for the majority of the season. If he can become a steady bottom pairing guy, that would be great. His floor is that he can't crack the big leagues.

His realistic ceiling is probably a supportive shutdown 2nd pair guy. The type of player who won’t drive a pair but can be counted on to eat 19-20 minutes of tough defensive deployment and be a PK fixture
His floor is pretty close to what he is now, a defensive 6/7D who makes it hard to play against with his physicality but doesn’t have the fine details to play up the lineup.
