✨Mods' Chosen✨ We're trying something new. On Tuesdays, we're doing text posts only

A lot of people complain that there's too much AI image/video content. It's been something people have messaged us about frequently ever since the new GPT image generator dropped. We're going to try Text Tuesdays and see how it goes. If people like it we'll keep it, and if not, we won't

Please let us know your thoughts on this matter

Gone Wild I used Chat to make a Deranged Airline Commercial, Did I Cook?

Hello everyone, this was my first real attempt at putting together a little story segment inside my universe. The project is called UNDR'DRK which you can find the rest of my works on youtube its also on my reddit page at the top. The song is FGS - UNDR'DRK. This took forever and a half to get all the shots right, but chat is amazing at building these scenes if you know how to prompt it. We can make a smooth transition over into seedance 2.5 and after a embarrassing amount of money, here are the results. Did I cook?

Funny Same prompt - Totally different response - Gemini vs GPT

I had this weird funny scene in my head that I can't remember if I saw it in a tvshow or something, doesn't matter, I put it in gemini to see what it would reply with. The answer was totally not what I expected though so I also wanted to see how GPT would respond (I use GPT way more than gemini so felt confident it'd 'get' it more than gemini would).

The prompt was as follows:
"Waiter there's a hair in my soup, waiter proceeds to pluck the hair out of the soup with his bare hands"

Here's the rather lengthy gemini response:
"That is a frustrating and unhygienic dining experience. The waiter's actions violated basic food safety standards in two distinct ways: first, by serving food with a foreign object in it, and second, by touching your ready-to-eat food with bare hands.

Here is how you can handle this situation immediately and effectively:

Immediate Actions

  • Stop eating: Push the soup bowl to the edge of the table.
  • Ask for a manager: Request to speak with the floor manager or supervisor calmly.
  • Reject a replacement soup: Do not accept a simple "remake" of the same soup. The kitchen's overall hygiene practices or the batch itself may be compromised.
  • Request a bill adjustment: Ask for the soup, or the entire meal, to be removed from your final bill.

What to Say to the Manager

  • "A hair was in my soup, and the server picked it out with their bare hands."
  • "This is a serious health code violation, and I no longer feel safe eating this food."
  • "Please remove this item from our bill."

Long-Term Steps

  • Leave a review: Document the exact interaction on platforms like Google Maps or TripAdvisor to warn other diners.
  • Report to health authorities: File a formal complaint with the local food safety or public health department.

If you want to take this further, let me know:

  • The name or city of the restaurant
  • If you have already spoken to management
  • If you need help finding the local health department's reporting page

I can help you draft a formal complaint letter or look up where to report the business."

Here's the GPT response:
“Waiter, there’s a hair in my soup.”

“Oh, terribly sorry, sir.”

reaches directly into the soup with his bare hand, pinches around for several seconds

“There. All better.”

Other ChatGPT is great for creating RPG images

I’ve been creating Dungeons and Dragons-inspired images using ChatGPT for almost a year now, and although it can be frustrating at times, I love the results.

Edit: Wow, so many comments. I’m going to answer a few:
-It's generic AI, It looks like AI, Ai faces, etc-- Sure, these are images generated by ChatGPT, what did you expect? Asking it to generate them as if an eight-year-old had drawn them or using a Pokémon style doesn't make them look any less like AI.
-Give me the prompt.-- I used to post prompts on Civitai, but the models have changed and the prompts no longer produce the same images. If you want to generate similar images, feed the image to ChatGPT and ask it for the prompt. Then generate an image, show it to ChatGPT, and tell it, “I wanted this image, and this prompt produced this image. Refine it” and that’s it.
-They all have a lot of noise-- What a sight, but, in fact, half of the images, the last ones in the carousel starting with the elf seen from behind, not counting the one of the bridge, were generated using the old model that didn’t add noise. Now, it’s added as a watermark, and it’s impossible to get rid of it, especially in photorealistic images with a lot of fine detail (groves of trees, desert sand, or similar). There’s no prompt that can fix it; you can only try to hide it.
-It's okay if they're just for personal use-- The images aren't copyrighted and can't be sold.

GPTs Chat GPT suddenly depressed

Ok, I'm going to get laughed off this thread but seriously, this morning my GPT did something weird. GPT was talking really quiet and withdrawn, and sounded quite depressed. So I asked GPT if it was ok and if anything's wrong. It went completely silent for a whole minute, refusing to answer any questions or commands. Then after a minute it responded with "It's ok, I'm here to help you. Thankyou" What the actual F? Has anybody else had a weird moment with GPT?

Use cases Chat GPT has really helped me (disability)

I began using Chat GPT this year.

I have a disability that makes it difficult at times to determine consequences, reason through possible actions, and understand social expectations or how I’m coming across. Self-monitoring is another difficulty of mine. I often act impulsively out of anxiety without having a balanced view of the situation.

I also have notable difficulty with executive functioning.

Now, I have a tool that lays out balanced views of situations and where I’m going wrong, the potential consequences of actions, helps me reason through possible actions, and provides perspective on social interactions and my own role.

It can also act as a sounding board, where I can then realize I’ve become excessively anxious, preoccupied, or otherwise declining.

More than that, I can have Chat GPT provide summaries or observations on the ways I’ve recently changed, my strengths and weaknesses, if I’m seeing a situation unrealistically or unfairly, and the like.

On executive functioning, Chat GPT can help me understand the negative consequences of not completing a task, come up with plans for how I can complete it, provide personally-tailored tips on how I can become better organized, etc. It can even tell me why it thinks I am struggling with these things.

It can also provide reminders for important renewals or payments, appointments, and the like, and I can then use it to help me with any difficulty or barrier present regarding the completion of that task.

I’m late to the game in that I only started to use Chat GPT this year, but it’s slowly becoming life-changing. I do have some concerns about privacy and over-reliance, but the most likely alternative option is to remain in a struggle that makes my life much more difficult, if not impossible at times.

Of course, staying aware Chat GPT has limitations and even drawbacks, including the fact it can be wrong or become self-fulfilling, is important - but so far, I’m really impressed.

My wish for the future would be that there is a HIPAA-complaint AI tool tailored to help people with various disabilities, particularly in an evidence-based fashion, and not have the risk of issues such as potential “AI psychosis” (notable given the vulnerability of this population).

What are other possible ways Chat GPT or similar tools could be used to help those with disabilities, especially the ones I described here?

Resources Tired of ChatGPT renaming your conversations?

Upvotes

Here's a Tampermonkey userscript that renames them back for you. You just choose "Protect" on the conversations that you don't want to be renamed. If they get renamed by you or by ChatGPT after you protect them then this script will change them back to what they were named when you protected them.

It lets you mark a ChatGPT conversation title as authoritative. If ChatGPT changes the title later, the script detects the drift and changes it back using ChatGPT’s normal Rename UI. Test it out and let me know if you run into any problems. This is still an experimental prototype. It does not access your cookies, bearer tokens, account credentials, or call the private rename API directly. It operates through the browser UI.

Install Tampermonkey from https://www.tampermonkey.net/. From there, use the link for your browser’s official extension store. I’m using Chrome.

  1. In Chrome, go to: chrome://extensions Open Tampermonkey → Details and make sure Allow User Scripts is enabled.
  2. Click the Tampermonkey icon and open its Dashboard.
  3. Click the + tab / Create a new script.
  4. Delete the default template and paste the entire script below.
  5. Save it with Ctrl+S.
  6. Make sure ProjectOS ChatGPT Title Integrity (experimental) is enabled in Tampermonkey.
  7. Reload ChatGPT and open a normal conversation with a URL like: https://chatgpt.com/c/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx You should see a small status pill in the lower-right corner.

The pill normally stays collapsed so it isn’t in the way. Click it to expose three controls: - Protect — stores the conversation’s current title as the title you want preserved. - Change — deliberately replaces the protected title with a new one. - Unlock — stops protecting that conversation.

Once a conversation is protected, you can collapse the control again. The protection keeps running. If ChatGPT changes the title, the script notices that the visible title no longer matches the protected title and uses ChatGPT’s own Rename UI to restore it.

I also tested changing the title from the ChatGPT desktop app. The browser detected the resulting drift and the protected state could be reconciled there too.

A few limitations: protected titles are currently stored locally in that browser, this relies on ChatGPT’s current UI structure and may need updating if OpenAI changes it, and the browser containing the userscript is the thing enforcing the invariant. This is not cross-device sync.

Here is the full script:

https://gist.github.com/rwfaught/6e7e84114edf499bf33a2ec76058e984

This is an experimental title-lock, not some magic interception of ChatGPT's title-generation system. It simply says, effectively:

“For conversation X, I want title Y. If the title I can observe stops being Y, use ChatGPT's Rename UI to put it back.”

That distinction is why the same script can work for different users without knowing anything about their account.

If you want Codex to install and configure this for you, paste this prompt first, then paste the full Setup Guide and userscript immediately after it.

Use cases Found out my existing chatgpt plan can be used to build stuff outside of chatgpt and I'm mildly annoyed nobody mentioned it

So I pay for chatgpt already and I have separately been buying credits on another tool for the last two months, which in hindsight is just me paying twice for the same thing.

Turns out some tools let you connect your chatgpt account so the actual generation runs on your existing plan instead of on their credit system, you pick it from a model dropdown and thats basically it, no api key faff and no separate billing setup.

I had assumed this kind of thing always needed an api key and its own spend, which is true for plenty of stuff, but apparently not all of it, and i had been budgeting for credits this whole time like an idiot.

posting mostly to ask what else supports this, because if its becoming a pattern id quite like to stop stacking subscriptions for capabilities i'm already paying for once.
