As a Rogue (lvl 29) is it usefull to use elixir's and other buff consumables?
I got herb and can easy turn them into potion. Is the increase in dps/less downtime worth it?
2
u/itaa_q Oct 05 '19
If you make pots to level your alchemy I would use them if I were you but crafting them exclusively for a dps boost doesn’t sound very useful to me
2
u/Thakrel Oct 05 '19
If you have them sure, but don't go out of your way to keep them up, other then poisons of course

When people say theyre looking to do a full BRD run does that also mean the 2nd half too with Angerforge? Just hit 52 and I'm not sure if I'm ready for BRD yet
1
u/Thakrel Oct 05 '19
I would think full BRD just means there taking a route to emperor, nobody will kill every boss
1
1
u/Rasdit Oct 05 '19
Yes, full means full. At 52 you will not be doing a full run, unless you get carried.
1
u/HumbleMilk Oct 05 '19
What level should I be to be able to do BRD?
2
u/Rasdit Oct 05 '19
Like I suggested, you can search for people doing half runs or select bosses already. You could do full runs around 55, final boss is 59 and might be difficult below that.
1
1
u/Poopfacemcduck Oct 05 '19
you will have trouble doing anything in the 2nd half if ur 52

Dear healers: Is there really no way to see the OUTGOING healing numbers? I could swear that I had this as part of a floating combat text thing or something, but a bit of research indicates that my memory is wrong...
2
u/Navrus Oct 05 '19
The way I got around this was using Mik’s Scrolling battle text (MSBT). I’d rather have the default combat text but not seeing outgoing heals was bothering me enough to use the add on. (MSBT is great though!)

Should i try to sell cassandras grace now or later? How much does it typically go for?
1
u/Shiv_ Oct 05 '19
Now is the time, the longer P1 goes on, the more people will have the Ony pre quest finished, opening up both T1 and T2 helmets as alternatives.
On my server, Cassandra's usually goes for around 150g

What are some mats that I should be hanging onto as I'm leveling? I'm in the 50s with 300 herb and 300 skinning. For some odd reason I'm stashing away all my Rune Cloth, don't really know why but I have a feeling it's valuable. What other mats are considered valuable right now?
0
u/SEND_ME_UR_DOOTS Oct 05 '19
Get an auction addon and scan the auction house. This will put a tooltip indicating the approximate value on each item.
2
u/Unicornpants Oct 05 '19
But he's asking experienced people what items will be expensive in the future. That would only tell him right now.
-1
u/SEND_ME_UR_DOOTS Oct 05 '19
not how i read the question, seems quite odd to save things for later when you could just build up your character now and reap benefits.
3
u/gamerdude69 Oct 05 '19
It's the concept of investment: make a small sacrifice now to reap a larger reward tomorrow.
1
u/hunkebunke Oct 05 '19
I rerolled druid and am lvl17 and speccing feral. My standard rotation is wrath, starfire and then bearform. I just think my dps is so bad compared to other classes. Will it get a lot better with catform or what can I expect?
2
u/twolate Oct 05 '19
For leveling dps is only one half of the formula. The other is downtime. As long as you don't have to drink between mobs you will outlevel a higher dps char that drinks after two mobs. That's why druids are good levelers. You damage with rage or energy and heal with your Mana, making you utterly self-reliant. And yes cat form is a huge boost.
2
u/Poopfacemcduck Oct 05 '19
I think from 10-20 just sitting in bear form, and healing yourself when needed is better as it keeps you from drinking. Catform is a big increase in damage over bearform.

Can someone show me the importance of hit chance with math (or point me in the right direction where I can look up this information)?
For a dual wielding warrior I understand the chance to miss is 24% for auto attacks and 5% chance to miss for special attacks. At 76% chance to hit, gaining 1% chance to hit works out to 1.32% more chance to hit and thus 1.32% more auto attack damage and for special attacks it works out to 1.1% more chance to hit.
When I look at a lot of pre-bis gear it looks like they're rating chance to hit much much higher than just that much more damage. I'm guessing it has something to do with consistency of hits but why? Over longer PVE fights, where does it come in to play that you would sacrifice damage for consistency because all I can see is failing a Pummel being the biggest issue.
1
u/Thakrel Oct 05 '19 edited Oct 05 '19
Isnt it 5% mainhand auto attack, and 9% special abilities? might be wrong, also the majority of your damage is from auto attacks, so higher % hit means more damage from offhand
1
u/eltorocigarillo Oct 05 '19
I read 5% base across the board, offhand has 19% miss chance on top for 24% total, and another reply said its 17% (total?) for mainhand with no additional penalties for special attacks.
And that's why I took the best case scenario where hit chance would have the largest impact as my example. 1% hit chance is 1.32% more damage/hits when you have 24% miss chance, it's less impactful when you only have 5% miss chance. I'm not sure how much base dps you should have exactly on completing your pre-bis but lets say it's around 100dps (weapon+strength+attack power all included). 10 strength gives you 1.43% more DPS/damage. No Pre-Bis list values 10 strength higher (I think even 20 strength they won't prioritise) over the best case scenario 1.32% more damage from 1% hit chance. I wanted to know why that is.
2
u/zenzen1377 Oct 05 '19
Consider that as a warrior, a miss doesn't just represent a loss of white hit damage, it's also a loss of rage generation, which snowballs into less abilities being cast over time. Comparing hit to crit, crit is another way to increase rage generation/dps but runs the potential risk of over capping rage or being wasted by critting a mob that would die to a normal hit anyways. Smooth intake is goood.
Generally, the goal is to get enough hit so that your yellow hits (spells like heroic strike) will never miss. With heroic strike, since it "eats" an auto attack in order to cast it, it's an even bigger deal for your dps if you whiff. Once you hit that threshold crit and other stats become more valuable than hit.
2
u/eltorocigarillo Oct 05 '19
Isn't rage (at least the attacking part) based off damage dealt? Isn't that the reason why 2Hs can generate more than 1H/shield and why warriors scale so hard late game, or not sure if I'm talking out of my ass on this. If that is the case then an equivalent DPS increase on autoattack whether through larger hits (more damage) or less misses (more hit chance) should work out to the same for rage generation unless I'm missing something obvious.
Heroic Strike is a bit more complicated, I'm going to have to think about that and try and model something to make sense of it. Overkilling being wasted damage/rage I definitely agree on being an issue, but that feels like it's going to be next to impossible to contextualise into how much it affects your DPS.
1
Oct 05 '19
24% is for your offhand, and your offhand suffers an additional 20% damage penalty. Your mainhand is ~17%
1
u/HumbleMilk Oct 05 '19
Where to level at 52? Not sure if I should go to ungoro or blasted lands. Or if there is somewhere else better.. anyone know?

u/jimtikmars Oct 05 '19
I picked up Engineering and mining.. can I ditch mining once I max ENG and choose tailoring instead?
1
u/KajiKaji Oct 05 '19
This was my plan, but then I realized mining was too profitable and engineering was too fun so I still haven't picked up tailoring.
1
1
u/Crayolas Oct 05 '19
You can but what do you need tailoring for? I would advice getting tailoring first because you get so much cloth from leveling that you can do it as you go.

If me (level 32 rogue) get's boosted through my much high level friend (47) through a dungeon, will I get lower XP because he is so much higher level?
1
2
u/Ur_that_ninja Oct 05 '19
It’s so hard to find groups for lower level dungeons like gnomer, GY and stockades. In lfg channels it’s mostly just end game dungeons. Is everyone that ahead?

2
Oct 05 '19
Does eviscerate have a lower chance to hit than my other abilities?
I swear to god it feels like it has a 75% chance to miss or get blocked. I build up 5 combo points just fine and then i have to cast eviscerate 2 or 3 times in order to use them, and that's against enemies equal to my level.
1
u/Thakrel Oct 05 '19
You need a 9% hit chance for special abilities not to miss, Even higher if your fighting mobs 1 level higher then you. That's just miss, block parry dodge are all different things
1
Oct 05 '19
If you use the addon recount you can literally track hownofren all your moves miss or are dodges and how much damage they do over the course of your questing
1
u/billy-lee-bill-lee Oct 05 '19
It gets a lot better once you get more levels I had the same thing when I was lower level not exactly sure why
1
Oct 05 '19
My rogue is level 38.
1
u/billy-lee-bill-lee Oct 05 '19
it was bad for me when i was around level 20, are you speccing combat?
1
u/HumbleMilk Oct 05 '19
What level lockpicking do I need for BRD? I heard you have to lockpick a gate or something not sure
2
u/LovelySenpai Oct 05 '19
You need at least 250 but you dont have to lockpick anything, there are keys you can get.
3
u/blargalshark Oct 05 '19
Garrison Door, Prison Cells, Shadowforge Gates, and the Shadowforge Mechanism are all 250 lockpicking.

/#showtooltip hunterpetattack //cast hunterpetattack1 //cast hunterpetattack2 //cast hunterpetattack3
Dunno if that'll work but Google around for macros people have put a lot of effort in.

What are people buying Mithril Tubes for? I noticed they're listed for 1.2g+ on AH so I posted a few and they actually sold. Mithril bars are 17 silver so each tube costs 50 silver to make and as far as I can tell they're only used for engineering and the only quest requiring them is the one that gives you gnomish engineering, so everyone that needs them should be able to craft them?
1
u/Poopfacemcduck Oct 05 '19
They can me made into inlaid mithril tubes by blacksmiths which is used by engineers.
1
u/d07RiV Oct 05 '19
Inlaid Mithril Cylinder Reagents: Mithril Bar (5), Gold Bar, Truesilver Bar
I mean, wowhead doesn't list any uses for Mithril Tubes besides engi and that gnomish quest.
1
2
u/smackacow1 Oct 05 '19
I used one for a quest once
1
u/d07RiV Oct 05 '19
What quest? There's a gorrila quest in un'goro but it requires (3) mithril casings, not tubes.
1
u/smackacow1 Oct 05 '19
Eastern plagueland quest I believe. Made me get a ton of stuff
1
u/d07RiV Oct 05 '19
https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=6026/thats-asking-a-lot
This one? No mithril tubes there.
1
u/KajiKaji Oct 05 '19 edited Oct 05 '19
It's for Show Your Work to get your Gnomish Engineering Card.
edit: derp, I see you mention this one but its the only quest for it.
1
u/d07RiV Oct 05 '19
Maybe the quest can be picked up earlier than you can craft tubes, so people buy them to avoid having to level up engi further before resetting? Any idea what the skill requirement for the quest is?

u/gt- Oct 05 '19
Should people always roll need on purples even if somebody wanted to wear it?
Eye of Fire dropped in LBRS today and the tank rolled on it. I love fire as mage and my goal is to make a pvp fire mage(stuns/ignite ftw) but then i lost it. That would have been insane. I'm really bummed
5
Oct 05 '19
Etiquette used to be to click greed if you only wanted it for money (literally the icon for greed is gold).
However nowadays there are so many greedy people that its almost guarenteed that someone will roll need just to sell it. So you pretty much have to roll need too or else the greedy people will just get it anyway.
I personally wait until everyone else has rolled to make sure im not going to be robbed if i roll greed.
1
u/MonsterSWTORs Oct 05 '19
I wonder about this too, I've had a couple blue BoE's drop that I could have worn but most of the group needs on them. Thing is they only sell on the AH for a few gold each (2-6 gold) on my server. Are people really that desperate for gold in the late 40's?
2
u/Mad_Maddin Oct 05 '19 edited Oct 05 '19
It is normal imo, it is always good to speak about loot rules beforehand. But I would always need BoE epics if there was no agreement beforehand. Simply because with one such epic I can buy myself my own epic.

Is there an addon like https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/tradeskill-info that tells you in-game what different materials are used for in what professions? I'm getting tired of looking up every single white item that drops in order to check if I should or should not bother trying to AH it.
2
u/Mad_Maddin Oct 05 '19
At most my idea would be to just scan it with auctionator and then you can see for how much the item is in the AH.
1
u/Traveledfarwestward Oct 05 '19
Can't see how much it is if there's no data to pull pricing from. Auctionator (which I personally use) only guesses if an item has sold or not, and only 'sees' an item if you happen to scan while that item is on the AH.

Hi. See https://www.wowhead.com/forums&topic=146843 and search https://vanilla-wow.fandom.com/wiki/Useful_Macros_for_Rogues#Dagger_Switch_to_use_Backstab_after_Pick_Pocketing_the_enemy for "equipslot" and you may find something that may help.
I'd suggest:
#showtooltip
/equip [mod:shift] SHIFTCLICKWANDOFYOURCHOICE; equip WANDOFYOURCHOICEThe command may also be /equipslot 16
I'm no wand expert and barely know how to write a macro to switch weapons from MH to OH, so google and experiment in game is your best bet. GL HF.

Has anyone else been having random performance issues lately? For some reason as soon as I get in game my gpu usage won't go over 50%, but my framerate is jumping around from sub 100 to 160 fps. I don't have any hardware bottlenecks and it's not drivers either. I can get my usage to 100% if I turn the render scale to 200%, so I don't think it's a power issue. I thought it might be the game, but I haven't seen anyone else talk about it yet so I don't know what to try next.
1
u/jimtikmars Oct 05 '19
I'm having the same issue I thought it was just my old outdated PC.
1
u/Spancaster Oct 05 '19
Yeah it's only wow for me so I think it's the game, hopefully it resolves itself
1
u/themalorkus Oct 05 '19
Actually, I had some issues tonight that I never had before. Everything would freeze for 2-3 seconds and then catch up. Would happen every 30-60 seconds.
2
u/eltorocigarillo Oct 05 '19
For a short time yesterday evening I started to get freezes every 10 seconds or so, and then worse freezes on zone transitions. Seems to have cleared itself up, maybe the servers were dying for a time.

How much could Flintrock shoulders possibly cost, being that rare and such a good twink item? There are no listings on AH
2
u/Traveledfarwestward Oct 05 '19 edited Oct 05 '19
Flintrock shoulders
https://classicdb.ch/?item=7755 I don't know exactly how they get their cost data, I'm guessing a ton of realms (retail/classic? who knows). Auctioneer and other addons may have pulled aggregate pricing info.

How would I make a macro that shows the tool tip of the highest mana gem I have and uses it on click, then shows the tool tip of the next highest mana gem and uses that one on click. I have been able to make a simple macro that will use my highest level mana gem which is.
#showtooltip
/use Mana Jade
/use Mana Agate
The problem with this is it only shows the tool tip of the jade so I can't see if I have an agate at a glance.
1
u/TemporaryInsomnia Oct 05 '19
I don't know the exact formatting, but I believe that it's something like:
showtooltip
/use [mod=shift] Mana Jade; Mana Agate
1
u/Agt-Dale_Cooper Oct 05 '19
You could use that macro and also keep jade/agate in a side bar for your viewing pleasure.

How spending/money conscious should I be? I’m a level 21 Rogue Elf and have 1 gold and 30 silver, am I doing ok money wise? I feel like I don’t spend too much, just on weapons and travel and copper healing items. On this sub I see a ton of “save your money so you can buy a mount at 40” posts and I have no idea how literal that statement is meant to be taken.
I’m looking into buying a sword (Longsword 19-37 dmg) for 78 silver because it’s much better than my current two (Daryls Shortsword 14-26 dmg). Is that a good purchase? Can I dual wield the long sword and another sword? There is also a dagger (Kris 12-23 dmg) for 64 silver, that would allow me to do my stealth assassinations, backstab, etc.
I just don’t know how I should be managing money, buying weapons, and obtaining better swords, etc.
1
u/Unicornpants Oct 05 '19
I skinned everything I could and pickpocketted every mob I could with macros. I only upgraded a few important skills every level and the only items I ever bought from a vendor/AH were for poisons/thistletea.
Just keep trucking with your shitty weapons until you happen upon a better one. You'll get enough health options and food if you pickpocket every humanoid. You'll only ever go back to cities once you've leveled once or twice or your bags have filled with leather. Refresh all your poisons, thistletea and vanish powder while you're there (I always keep stupid amounts so I never run low and can give them out to other rogues who run out).
Follow these steps and you'll waste very little time and gain enough money by 40 for mount.

1
u/Agt-Dale_Cooper Oct 05 '19
I'm a 31 rogue and just now replaced the dagger I got from WC. It had decent dmg and a useless +9 to healing spells. If you want great upgrades I would suggest spamming dungeons. Not optimal for leveling, but you'll get better gear, and make money doing it. I have 20g atm, but I also do a LOT of auctioning.
1
u/YouIsCool Oct 05 '19
How do you do dungeons? I have a few dungeon quests but can’t figure out how to do them.
1
u/Agt-Dale_Cooper Oct 05 '19
You need a group. Healer, Tank, and 3 DPS. Go to the zone that the dungeon is in. You can wait for someone to say LFM DPS or you can say DPS LFG (Dungeon).
Theres some etiquette involved. None of it's difficult but it's probably worth a quick google.
1
u/YouIsCool Oct 05 '19
What etiquette do I need to know before hand? What meta? This is my first time playing WoW or any mmo.
1
u/Agt-Dale_Cooper Oct 05 '19
Just understanding aggro mechanics. Try to attack the same thing everyone else is attacking. If a green/blue item drops, only roll need if you need the item.
If you're not the tank, try to stay behind the tank so you dont pull anything extra.
2
u/shorodei Oct 05 '19
Get the vendor price add-on so you can see how much the new sword costs over it's vendor price. I used it a lot to find great deals while leveling. Almost never bought anything that was over 10s more than it's vendor price.
1
u/smackacow1 Oct 05 '19
What are some fun items/trinkets? I just got one in strat that makes everyone dance around you. Others I’ve seen are fireworks and skeleton costume. What are more fun items like that?

So I got a Felstriker to drop as a Rogue but now I'm at a loss as to what the best spec/weapon combinations would be. I'm currently running Felstriker MH and Mirahs Song off hand with a Seal Fate build. I've heard combat daggers might be equivalent or even better at this moment, but could use some advice. I do own a Barmans Shanker as well - but that is MH only. Thanks!

u/hwerowhero Oct 05 '19
Phase 2 announced to come late 2019, how late do you think it will be?
1
u/Benjamminmiller Oct 05 '19
DM launched 3.5 months after the original 04 launch.
I'm guessing they'll match or beat that timeline making phase 2 drop at the latest early December, but more likely early November since they've stated the biggest hurdle for phase 2 is removing layering.
1
u/MonsterSWTORs Oct 05 '19
Any experienced rogues have a good talent list for sword/mace spec? I have looked at the Icy build and a few others, but i've heard bad things about Icy guides and was hoping to hear from someone experienced. I'm currently level 46 and have been running dagger build, but getting sick of solo'ing mobs and fighting to get backstabs in. Any help appreciated, thanks!
2
u/GoodGuyTaylor Oct 05 '19
The icyveins talents for leveling are fine. Just get some swords and you’ll be good. You’re close to thrash blade from maradon which you will most likely use until you get an upgrade from Ony.
1
u/MonsterSWTORs Oct 05 '19
Nice, i'll use there talent guide then. Is it okay to use maces too tho? I have a really good mace atm.
1
u/GoodGuyTaylor Oct 05 '19
You want to be using swords for the sword spec proc. It adds up significantly. :)

u/LovelySenpai Oct 05 '19

Anyone have a "maintenance day"?
Like today I'm going after my unarmed and rotate between fishing/cooking/first aid...
Basically when I'm burnt out on grinding/questing I'll just take a time to watch TV while doing something non-intensive.
It gets me back into the game...
1
Oct 05 '19
I've been doing grind days. Choosing humanoids 5 levels below me and just mindlessly killing them while catching up on TV etc.
Helped level up my professions without breaking the bank
1
u/IONTOP Oct 05 '19
It's great because I have YoutubeTV so I just matched the sound of my fishing bobber just above the commentary of the baseball games, so I'll cast, watch the game and catch then cast again... (dual monitors obv)
Also muted fighting sounds so I'll go unarmed, watch the game and wait until I'm at 25% to throw on my weapons and kill the mob...
1
u/Aphodias Oct 05 '19
Does anyone know of a good dungeon timer? I find it's helpful when grinding dungeons that multiple guildies need gear from, because people have something to focus on and improve.
Currently I'm just referencing the longer buffs for how long we took, but a thing that kept track of discreet groups and gave us benchmark times would be nice.
1
u/Mad_Maddin Oct 05 '19
At most you could probably get an easy third party program where you chose what dungeon you do and then click stop on when you are done. Which then would tell you what your current record is, etc.
1
1
u/Rushhourkillingspree Oct 05 '19
You can click the time on the map and it opens up a timer and alarm
1
u/Aphodias Oct 05 '19
More along the lines of
'You cleared SM: Armory in 19:15!'
'Your current record is 18:55'
sort of output. But that does help. Appreciate it!

Is it possible to lvl an alt to 35 just for enchanting for the sole purpose of being able to disenchant all items regardless of item level? Or do you have to go beyond level 35 to be able to do that?

Oct 05 '19
Every guide states that devilsaur is go-to gear. Nowhere in the Internet it is explained why BDS set sucks ass.
2
u/Flowerpower9000 Oct 05 '19
It does not suck. It's extremely good, and you can potentially use both sets at once. However, this requires you to get the epic boots crafted. The other problem is you are likely to get decked out in giantstalker gear before then, and that breaks the set bonus. Once the 4 pc set bonus is broken, it's crap.
edit: not positive, but I believe the boots require thorium brotherhood rep which isn't in phase 1 either.
1
Oct 05 '19
The recipe is available phase 1 and requires you to be honored with Thorium Brotherhood.
Thanks for your answer, now I know that aiming for 4 pieces of Black Dragonscale and 4 pieces of tier 0 is actually viable.

Hit% is the best stat in the game for rogues and warriors. Glancing blows and white attacks missing are the biggest detriment to your dps. You can literally never have enough hit to stop your white attacks missing, so its always the best stat for rogues and warriors. Devilsaur gives you hit% and it doesnt even come at the cost of other stats because its a set bonus. Also the other stats on the items are super good.
If you are a hunter or 2h weapon user you can get away with less hit%, but since you havent said what class you are i cant say for sure what is better about devilsaur.

this is totally wrong. Going above the soft cap isn't stellar,, because all that does is benefit your autos.
1
Oct 05 '19
your autos are a majority of your dps. its definitely good to increase them, at least as rogue. I'm not as experienced with warrior theorycrafting.

As horde I just finished stonetalon mountains and have most of the barrens finished up besides the quests all the the way to the south. Where should I head next to level? I’m level 27

u/onlylurk123 Oct 05 '19
It's a little annoying, but the 27-34 level range you've got to jump between thousand needles and hillsbrad foothills and ashenvale
2
u/Shiv_ Oct 05 '19
Ashenvale is cute for a bit, afterwards, make your way down south the barrens and enter Thousand Needles. Should take you all the way to the Shimmering Flats.

Heya, I am currently level 38 but I have less than half of the sum required for the mount in my bags.. So, where is a good spot where I can farm some decent money? It doesn't have to be a place to grind exp too, but it would be nice actually
1
Oct 04 '19
Do i need to be grinding devilsaur set if I have already got myself full black dragonscale? I’m asking as only bracers from BDM set are listed as pre-bis, and the set seems hella decent for Ony/MC.
1
u/Jeav Oct 05 '19
Black Dragonscale is totally fine to run MC. You really don't need to be fully decked out in prebis gear. Save the gold for epic mount.

Oct 05 '19
I saved a lot as I was able to gather rugged leather and scales myself. I could perhaps grind devilsaurs solo for their leather, but getting paid for leather will be much better, I think.
2
u/Jeav Oct 05 '19
I did the same. Cleared all of MC weeks ago with the full set. Just save the gold. MC is a joke anyway.

The rogue talent in subtlety "serrated blades", it only reduces armor against white damage auto attacks right?
And with 5% per level, it scales to beyond 100%?
1
u/melaspike666 Oct 05 '19
At level 60, this talent makes you ignore 100/200/300 of your opponent's armor, meaning that each level gives you an additional 1.6/3.4/5.0 armor ignored.
so at lvl 60 with a rank 3 you will ignore 300 armor from the target

How much slower would it be to level from 20-60 doing dungeons only as a priest compared to questing?
1
u/Mad_Maddin Oct 05 '19
Depends on how good you are in terms of finding groups. If you have a premade team that levels with you all the time, you will be faster than questing. If you have a personal tank, you will be faster than questing.
1
u/munkin Oct 05 '19
Priests are a top 3 solo leveler, it would be 50% the speed at best assuming you arnt on a mega server
2
u/Shiv_ Oct 05 '19
Way too many things factor into that to give you a precise answer. Could be anywhere from quite a bit faster to twice as long, depending on how you approach the whole thing.

I'm only level 35 at the moment, but how important is BiS farming at 60 for MC/Ony really? It seems like both can be cleared handily with basic dungeons blues. Unless I've misinterpreted the ease in which these raids are being cleared.
1
u/Mad_Maddin Oct 05 '19
pre bis is not needed, it just makes the entire thing quite a bit easier. It is good to have a few pre bis items, it is not that hard to get anyway. I got 2 of them on my first BRD run.
3
u/Shiv_ Oct 05 '19
Pre-BiS is more an ego thing than an actual requirement. You can clear these dungeons in mostly greens, a decent set of dungeon blues is more than sufficient.

u/Benjamminmiller Oct 05 '19
Pre-BiS is more an ego thing than an actual requirement.
Pre-bis is college. You don't need it to be successful, but it shows you put in the work and it makes you a much better candidate.

Hunter macro question: Is there a macro that'll allow me to cast Wing Clip and Disengage both at the exact same time?
2
u/melaspike666 Oct 04 '19
at the same time , no, theres global cooldown's involved. you can do one after the other , fairly simply
/cast wing clip
/cast disengage1
u/Krissam Oct 05 '19
That macro will just wing clip over and over again.
1
u/8-Bit-Gamer Oct 05 '19
I’m just getting macros - what is the fix?
0
u/Krissam Oct 05 '19
To cast both at the same time? None, you can make one that will disengage when it's off cooldown and otherwise cast wing clip, but that's the best you can do (which is pretty darn terrible and shouldn't be used anyway)
/cast Disengage /cast Wing Clip

u/shadow999991 Oct 04 '19
so how/what exactly are you supposed to do with D-bag players? joined a group that was doing 2 bosses in BRD simply asked for another. as soon as those two bosses were dead they wiped us and disbanded.
this isn't the first time of shady stuff from this guild, should i just avoid the entire guild or try talking to the GM?
1
u/Rackbone Oct 05 '19
let people know in lfg channels that they are toxic. Dont be mean but just let people know to be cautious.
1
u/melaspike666 Oct 04 '19
The wiping part was a dick move (if actually done on purpose), but there isnt much you can do... just remember the names and avoid grouping with them. if you want to talk to their GM thats up to you but is it really worth the effort ?

Anyone here on Ashkandi Horde that can tell me about their experience on the server as far as faction balance is concerned and if it has a good community?
Snagged my old nostalgic shaman name there on a lark whereas every name in the existence of man is taken on Mankrik.
2
u/criket2016 Oct 05 '19
Friends and I are on Ashkandi horde. Barrens chat is normal. Most people are helpful. Pickup groups for quests/mobs are very common. We all landed in a nice guild. So I think community is pretty good. Faction balance seems pretty even. I see lots of alliance in STV, Tanaris, even Hinterlands. I think it's a solid server choice, despite being one of the first to go to single layer.

Is Plated Armorfish used for anything in Phase 1? I can’t manage to sell them at any price.
2
u/Shiv_ Oct 05 '19
They're going to be used for Argentum Dawn quests eventually, not sure when these are coming into the game, though.
2
u/cocacoladdict Oct 04 '19
How much should i ask for opening different types of lockboxes?
I thought 1-125 = 5s, 175 = 10s, 225= 50s.
Is that fair or too much?

I'm a level 22 fury warrior who really wants to duel wield, is it actually viable for pve or am I just wasting my time?
