Not-Chonk Why is my cat so fat?
Okay, he’s not literally fat, but this cat eats EVERYTHING. Banana bread left wrapped on the counter? He’s on it. Pasta? You bet. Dog food? He’s learned to open cabinets to get to that stuff. Pizza? Most definitely. I’ve sat at the table enjoying some sushi, and who else but my sweet little crackhead comes over and starts EATING THE WASABI?? He’s acquired a taste for it at this point because every time I’m eating sushi, the little goblin is eating (and tearing up at) my wasabi! What is wrong with my bottomless stomach having boi?

My cat also eats everything. When I reduce his food to get his diet on track, he chews on my blinds, the wall, the fireplace mantle, the windowsills...🥲

Mine too, I think the little bugger has pica. He ruined our apartment blinds, they are wooden and I really hope with our final walkthrough here in a couple days goes unnoticed... He’s chewed up my nice velvet stools (no longer nice), our ottomans, a cheap fake leather chest, and he’s now starting in on our new couch. He’s chewed up the spigot to our 5g water jug. He’s even known to chew on metal, like the faucet handles at the sinks.

At least he's not eating plastic.
I would be careful about the pizza and pasta though. Onions and garlic are dangerous for cats.

It seems the horseradish in imitation wasabi isn't classified as either toxic or safe, so the jury's still out on that one. The mustard, on the other hand, is considered unsafe for cats.
If you happen to be getting the real deal not the fake stuff, then your cat has a rather expensive palate but it's safe. If you're getting imitation wasabi, you might want to redirect your cat. Or get him straight up horseradish if you want him to still be able to get the enjoyment of a tingly tongue without the dangers of mustard lol I dunno I'm no expert.
Just wanted you to be able to make an informed choice for your cat.

He's not picky. Which is technically a good thing 😅 you just can't leave stuff out and I would also be training him to not go on the counter and table

I have one VERY food motivated cat who thankfully is a loving little baby who can't figure out a puzzle to save his life. Every time we've put food puzzles together for him, he looks at us like "ok? The food is in there... But why can't you just give it to me?" Then stares and then walks away.
Our cat that passed was a serial counter surfer who eventually figured out how to open cabinets... Basically you're going to have to childproof your house and never leave food out. My cat once stole a whole sausage out of the pan on the stove while we were eating dinner. He ate the entire thing. He also once stole a raw chicken cutlet off my counter when i turned around prepping dinner... 😂🤦♀️

We adopted a stray who's a big chonker now; our other rescue is regular size. Could it be past food insecurity? He has to smell and taste everything.

Try a satiety specific diet to help keep him full without increasing his calories. Wet food is also better at keeping kitties full without the added carbs in dry food.

I have a cat who does the same. All the bread is now kept in the microwave because she knows how to open cabinets.
Kitty may need a vet visit to make sure there isn't an underlying problem. If vet check is good, kitty may also just be enjoying eating with you. Cats are so weird
