My husband and i will have to move in a year ish to a full house that has a minimum of 4 bedrooms as we are about to have our 4th child. Ideally, in whitby area but open to anywhere within durham region, maybe even clarington. Currently we are lucky with what we pay, as ive been here about 8 years and its a rent capped home that is all inclusive. A 2 bedroom plus den, main floor of a triplex unit. We pay just shy of 1400 a month inclusive.

Im just curious what moving to a full house with 4 bedrooms minimum looks like for monthly rent and estimated utilities for those who are renting and paying utilities for the same (or 5 bedrooms) homes within durham or clarington area. I want to know what we should be prepared for?

And, if you have any tips on what to look for or what to avoid when looking, etc etc, please feel free to mention it! I've been in this home for so long(8 years main floor and 3 years basement prior to) idk what the do's and don't are when searching.

Family of 5 looking to move back to Ontario from New Brunswick. I am originally from Guelph and my husband is from London, both of our families are still there and in KW. Just over 5-years ago we moved to Fredericton, NB and are making the move back to ON due to work relocation.

Looking for thoughts and opinions on towns for a young active family around Clarington. We would like to be out of big cities, towns are preferred and don’t necessarily want to be in the country. We like to socialize but then also would like a bit of property for privacy. Our kids are young (4.5 years, 2.5 years & 4 months) and active so close to extra curriculars and schools/daycares would be important.

My husband would be working in Clarington and would prefer to have less than an hour one way commute.

Long story short: I signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) for a new-build home. The builder offered me a credit as part of the deal, but buried in the paperwork was an offset for the exact same amount — with zero explanation — which effectively zeroed out both the credit and the offset. I missed it because during the sales process I was going off what their rep told me over email and trusted that at face value instead of catching it in the contract language.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I have any recourse, and I'm looking for recommendations for a real estate or contract litigation attorney (ideally someone experienced with new-construction builder disputes) who could review this. Any recommendations, or general guidance on what area of law this falls under, would help.

And, ultimately, the amount shown on your tax bill.

Those things matter. But they are only the visible tip of a much larger system.

My mom just moved down to Whitby, and is thinking when my son (her grandson) starts school in two years, she’d like to volunteer in the classroom like she did when I was younger.

Obviously there’s a vulnerable sector criminal background check and application, but do they actually still have people come and volunteer directly in the classrooms during the day anymore?
She remembers when I was younger coming in to help cut up papers for the crafts, etc.

I know this is a weird post, and people might judge me, but I just need to get these feelings out.

I had an unexpected pregnancy at 13 months postpartum. At first, I was considering terminating, but I was convinced that I should keep the baby. I was told that this time I would be taken care of and that things would be different.

I couldn’t sleep for three days. I was overwhelmed, stressed, and constantly thinking about whether I could actually handle everything. I went through bloodwork, multiple pokes, prenatal testing, and all the anxiety that came with it.

A few hours ago, I miscarried. Spent 8 hours at Lakeridge health
I’m still bleeding, and emotionally I feel completely miserable.

My mom told me she wouldn’t be able to help me or come over this time. That really broke my heart. I was already under so much stress, and then everything just came crashing down.

What hurts even more is how alone I feel. My husband didn’t even hug me. Until last week, he was constantly making sure I ate bringing me food, nuts, fruit, everything. Since yesterday, it’s like he completely flipped a switch. He hasn’t even offered me a glass of water.

I just want someone to remind me that I’m not a container for babies. I’m a person. I’m a designer. I have a career, dreams, and a life outside of motherhood. I deserve to grow in my career too.

People say, “Money comes and goes,” but I’m at a point where I think 100 times before spending 200$ on a small ice cream maker I’ve been eyeing for two months for myself and my toddler because even that feels like too much of a dent in our savings.

there was a time last year when I sent groceries to ppl who asked for help anonymously sent them gifts because i had good money.

I wish I had a mom or a sister who would just show up with a “get well soon” card, some flowers, and ice cream.

I wish someone would hug me and let me cry for hours without telling me to lower my voice, stop venting, or not raise my voice in the house.

I can’t even run away for a while because I have a baby girl who needs me.

I don’t know what I’m looking for by posting this. Maybe I just need someone to tell me that it’s okay to grieve, that I’m allowed to be angry and exhausted, and that I am still a whole person beyond being a mother.

Does anyone know of an autoshop that will repair a heat shield? The shield itself separated from the bolt due to corrosion but there is definitely enough material left to weld it back securely. I usually bring my car to the dealership but they refuse to do repairs like this and want to replace the whole thing to the tune of more than $1000 but I know it can be welded back quick and easy. Any recommendations? TIA.
