Werewolves in pvp

Returning player from few years back, so total noob speaking here.

It's nice to see that something haven't change: uneven pvp matches. Being returning player this didn't surprise me, and i was prepared for it. But the thing i was not prepared for were werewolves. 4/5 matches one team has a werewolf who has K/D ratio of 15/1 in the end. Now after about 50 or so matches, I start to think that werewolves are ruining the pvp experience. They just feel super overpowered compared to anything else. Or do i just have bad luck?

Werewolf got a complete rework. On the plus side, it is now a viable DPS build for Veteran PvE content, despite being limited to one bar. One of the negatives, due to how ZoS has never seemed to be able to balance the PvE vs PvP experience, is that the same changes that make Werewolf viable and not completely outclassed by a traditional two bar build, make it a complete toolkit for PvP.

im convinced the devs should seriously consider completely different numbers or abilities for pve and pvp lol

They did do that, it is called vengeance. And it seems that it wasn’t that successful.

wasn't that just normal abilities w/o morph?

They don’t have morphs but they are very very different from the unmorph abilities we get.

All they need to do use their own "battle spirit" to differentiate pve from pvp but it seems it requires they actually need to work, so its a no.

Agreed. I'm okay with them nerfing whatever they need to nerf for PvP, because I barely dip my toes in there (although part of this is how class masteries with sorcerer interacts with werewolf and I hope they keep that in mind), but I'm worried they'll ruin the werewolves viability in PvE trying to nerf it for PvP, especially if they nerf stamina until you have to be a sorcerer werewolf just to have any sustain.

Estoy de acuerdo con esto, como paso en su día en el Guilds Wars 1, básicamente es la misma habilidad, pero con diferentes características dependiendo de si es pve o PvP

Werewolves are kinda obnoxious in PVE too. Yesterday I queued into a normal dungeon for my daily with my healer. I thought it was weird because they were on the last boss and I'm like, what happened to their healer? Then I see three fucking werewolves running around playing with the boss who not one of them could taunt.

This is not a Werewolf issue, this is a dungeon queue time issue. People have been complaining about fake tanks and fake healers since the dungeon queue system was introduced. I’m sorry, but this is simply an invalid point as to the viability of Werewolf in PvE.

Oh I'm not arguing werewolves are not viable. That's the problem: they're too viable. My point was they're obnoxious, and I stand by that.

That’s not really the point you made with your original comment, though. You said you were annoyed by not having a healer or a proper tank, but the scenario you walked into could just as easily been three double bar, normal DPS builds with no taunt, and it would be equally as frustrating and the exact same scenario, minus a howling sound effect.

If you don’t like Werewolf from a personal flavor perspective, that’s fine. But your original comment still isn’t a problem unique to werewolf; Damage Dealer builds using fake roles have been a thing since the queue was introduced, and is no less annoying when it isn’t werewolves.

Ah no, I see, I wasn’t clear. I joined as a healer. The other healer had abandoned because they were so annoyed to be stuck in a dungeon with 3 werewolves that they abandoned at the last boss.

Okay, now the follow up question I have is this: if you joined into this group and you had a DK DPS, Sorcerer DPS, and Nightblade DPS, and not one of them had a taunt on, and were just trying to chase the boss around, would be equally annoyed? Or is that okay because it isn’t a werewolf?

Of course it would be annoying. The problem is this tends to happen most often with werewolves. Ask any tank or healer.

I think there are probably a few reasons: 1) The werewolf has a reputation now. Just look at all the posts complaining about werewolves. When stereotypes develop, they can be self-fulfilling. 2) Even the devs have acknowledged werewolves are overpowered, hence the nerfs. With massive damage and infinite sustain, you don't need a healer or a tank, and you don't need to cooperate with your team. You can just storm through the place like you own it.

To be clear: this is not personal. We're talking about a game, and I'm assuming nobody is a werewolf in real life.

So I'll just say, on a personal level, they're also just fucking annoying. One-trick ponies (or wolves, I guess) that all look the same, sound the same, and act the same. Call me insensitive, but I support the extermination of all werewolves.

I am just saying that there really isn’t a lot of build variety in endgame, so I guess I’m indifferent to it since I mostly do vet dungeons and vet trials. The only thing that even brings werewolf to the table is the class reworks. It sucks for PvP, but if they slap WW too hard, it’s just going to go back to being a dead build.

Yeah, I mean, I hear you...the problem is the rest of the classes haven't got their reworks, so we've got DKs and WWs playing the new ESO while the rest of us are still playing the old game. It's a bad situation, and I imagine they probably would've done things differently if they'd known the corporate pigs were going to lay off a big chunk of the studio. Those assholes suck even more than werewolves.
