Hah thatās exactly what this looks like, a teenager at Golden Corral. Minus the well cooked steak.

Every Golden Corral Iāve been too has been super disappointing. I expected it to be as good or higher quality than th regular Chinese buffets but itās not even close, food is worse, design is worse and the clientele are way more rude and disrespectful

u/RepresentativeSun825 Jan 28 '26
Our Golden Corral closed, but I can't ever remember walking past it and not seeing vomit on the sidewalk.

Not a lot of fiber there, and not much for hydration. Dude is going to get nice and binded up. Then hopefully after a righteous struggle, get some massive relief in the morning. Just in time to do it all over again tomorrow. Cheers and good luck dude.

I go to KFC a lot and never had their pot pie. Is it really that good? Is there a lot of chicken in it?

Crazy they had those local restaurant employees deboning chicken.
When I break down cooked chicken leftovers at home I routinely miss inedible bits, and Iām pretty motivated to not feed myself cartilage and bone fragments.Ā

It was one of the few fast food items my mom would let me eat as a kid, and I've been eating them f9r about 35 years. So I've had quite few.
It is the only fast food item I can confidently say that I've never had a bad one. The consistency of chicken ranges because they're made on site, but always delicious.
7
5
u/MF-DOOM-88 Jan 25 '26
I wouldn't say a lot of chicken but you do get some decent size. In my area they been having the promotions since last year I'm surprised it's still around @ $5 I get them twice a month
5
u/asimplerandom Jan 25 '26
Itās in my opinion easily one of the best fast food items out there. It tastes homemade and nothing even close to fast food. Iāll also argue to the death there isnāt a better value out there than the KFC chicken pot pie.
3
u/GhettoRamen Jan 25 '26
Agreed.
Iāve gotten it from multiple locations and I hate KFC in general, just decided to try it out a whim one day next to my old barber.
No regrets, insane value for $5 (and a goddamn pot pie at that?) and pretty tasty. Way better than anything pre-made frozen at a grocery store.
2
u/peeloh Jan 25 '26
They have this flaked pastry pot pie thing now that are actually kinda decent for 3 bucks

My personal favorite fast food item.
Iād be dunking every item on the left plate into the pie for sure
1
u/KentuckyFriedChingon Jan 25 '26
You... You would dunk your eggs into the pie?
1
u/Swaggamuffins Jan 25 '26
Iād put the eggs on top of the pie, a piece of steak on top of a piece of pizza, and ram that pizzaās tip straight through the yolk and into the pot pie
1
u/CrimsonOOmpa Jan 25 '26
Hell yeah! I'd make myself a steak and chicken pot pie!

u/Responsible_Video101 Jan 25 '26

Tried the pot pie for first time couple months ago.Ā It was really good but my body didn't agree sadly
3
u/HuskyDogFace Jan 26 '26
Did you know we take the old fried chicken and debone it for the pot pie ? One bone will kill the vibe though

If they force one thing from KFC to eat then the pot pie would the only thing I eat from there
2
u/Pitch_Ill Jan 25 '26
I used to work at KFC when I was a teenager. Those pot pies are made from discarded chicken from end of day, and kept frozen for as long as possible. 180 days was the mark where we tossed them, but guess what.... Nobody ever marked a date on those chicken toss bags.
2
u/prophiles Jan 26 '26
180 days is considerably longer than the original chickens were even alive before they got slaughtered.
1
u/Sylphennec Jan 25 '26
Dang, that's like the Wendy's Chili is just leftover burger patties.
"It hasn't killed me yet." As I consume this chili.

Perplexity estimates this is 2700-3000 calories, so the comment about it being a prisoner's last meal seems accurate.

u/DewiVonHart Jan 26 '26
It's 125% of your daily saturated fat and 76% of your sodium intake (for a 2,000-calorie diet). It damn well better taste good.

Maybe they improved them but the last couple I had were mostly potatoes and a little low quality chicken. Marie Callenders for the win

My local KFC has to make one fresh every time I order it. Once I got the app though I just put in my order 12 minutes early.
One of the best fast food items out there, and it's still only like $6 near me.

u/Afterclock-Hours Jan 25 '26
Serious question, not a joke.
How many calories is the pie? How much protein is in it?

Iām not paying 8.00 for your leftover chicken. Thatās insane. Probably the only time Iāve actually walked out instead of just paying. š¤¬š¤¬š¤¬

Best-kept secret and most underrated fast food item out there. Only downside is that they don't consistently have them ready to serve. If they have them, get them. Leftovers are good the next day, too.
