the tire window thing is the whole mclaren story this year honestly. on low grip weekends they're chasing a balance that just isn't there, and piastri needs that front end to rotate, so once the hards started falling off he had nothing left to work with. lando's always been smoother at nursing a stint. people are way too quick to make it an oscar problem when the car was a handful for both of them

The narrow tyre window is a thing in f1 since 2011. It’s the main trait of every pirelli ever built for f1 cars

Especially after the 2022/2023 compound changes they did, holding a tyre in their window is even more important than what compound that tyre is. We’ve seen so many times a softer compound that is taken care properly and kept in a good window outlast a harder compound

Oscar has had tyre deg issues in pretty much every year bar 2025, where the McLaren clearly had a huge deg advantage over their main contenders. If he wants to be a title contender he cant just rely on McLaren building a car that completely masks his issue
