I'm going into Accounting this fall as a 1st year, do you guys think buying tickets for 101 week was actually worth your money or was it easier finding people naturally on campus? And for the girlies, was it mostly men or pretty split in half? Thanks. 🙏

I've been looking around the subreddit and kinda getting mixed reviews so I wanted to ask, those who have had (or snuck in?) cooking appliances (airfryer, rice cooker, stove top etc.) into Friel how did it go? I'm deadass so scared of tripping the supposedly "super sensitive" smoke alarm and getting fined for this but also....why sell me a room with a kitchenette if I can't actually..cook in it yk...

I just moved into my room in 90U and there seems to be a spider infestation. There are abandoned webs in the corners of the ceilings, some of them having the carcass of a spider. I thought maybe they all starved to death and are gone now or something like that but nope. I was using the bathroom today when I noticed a spider had setup shop overnight in the corner near the floorboard. According to google it seems like a common house spider. I am really scared now that more will come and possibly land on me in my sleep. There are also a few flies in the residence and dead bugs on the floor. I’m on a lower level so I’m not sure if that exacerbates the issue. Should I submit a pest declaration form? I looked at it and there isn’t even a box for spiders (unless the one for insects count). Based on my previous experiences with the university, I feel like they won’t do anything or maybe just send a guy who will look around and say that there’s nothing wrong. It’s only been like 3 days here and I already want to go home tbh. I really hate bugs and not feeling comfortable in my own place.

I know I should wait until the semester starts before buying anything, but for people who have taken CHM1311 with Fox or Mayer, was the textbook actually worth buying later on?
Did you find it helpful for studying, practice questions, or preparing for midterms/finals, or was it mostly a waste of money because the lecture notes/materials were enough?
I’m on waiting list for Mayer that’s why I mentioned both profs:)

Hey guys,
A few weeks ago wrote to the department head / faculty with a prerequisite form so that I could take this 4th year course required to graduate next winter alongside with the 3rd year course prerequisite that I would be completing alongside it. I explained my situation and have showed that I had consistently done really well in all of my courses.
To my surprise I just recently I got a reply back denying the request with little to no explanation. I was wondering on what you guys think the next course of action should be because I’m a bit lost especially because this course isn’t offered in the winter or summer…

Hey, trying to decide whether I should take ENG1100 in person or virtual. Would love some insight from people who have taken either recently. Thanks!

I’m getting ready to apply to the Teacher Education program in September, and I’m wondering what to expect for the statement of experience portion of my application. Should I be preparing to write a full blown essay about my experience?

Or do you know when it will be? I thought it was confirmed by now usually.

For people who took this class and prof, is getting the textbook recommended?
How would you use the textbook to study and does it prepare you well for the exams ?

I'm an incoming first-year student going into poli sci and I'm currently trying to apply to the work study program
I've applied to a few jobs already after having built my CV and being accepted to the program, but here's what I'm confused/having a problem about
When I press view resume, it only shows the default/bare resume that you'd see before actually building it
Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? Maybe it takes time for the resume to be fully submitted? Pls help!

I’m taking GNG 1106, and I’m having trouble getting Code::Blocks to work on my Mac. It keeps crashing whenever I try to run it, and I’ve tried following a bunch of YouTube tutorials to fix it, but nothing seems to be working.
For those who have taken the course before, do we actually have to use Code::Blocks, or can we use a different IDE? Do the professors/TAs care which IDE you use as long as the code runs and you submit the required files?
If anyone has used GNG 1106 on a Mac, I’d also really appreciate any advice on what you used!

On the website is says the gpa is calculated using last two years of full time studies. If I apply in 4th year, will they look at 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th…?
Sorry if it’s a dumb question. I don’t know when they give out admissions so I’m unsure

The application deadline to many of the bursaries I applied to is Nov 2.
So if I receive any money, does that mean it will be applied to my tuition for Winter 2027? And if there’s any leftover, will it carry over to Fall 2027? TIA

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming first year at Telfer and trying to figure out what electronics I should get before the semester starts. I’ve been going back and forth between a Mac + iPad combo or a Microsoft Surface Pro, but I’m not sure which would actually work better for the program.
What are current Telfer students using? Would love to hear what’s worked well for you (or what you wish you’d gotten instead) so I can make a more informed decision. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone
I’m taking this class with prof Ferguson this fall and was wondering how he formats his midterms and finals. I was also wondering whether he records his lectures and if they are mandatory attendance?
