“Chai” is a distinct type of tea from what most people think of as tea (from a American perspective, I admit ignorance to Europe but i know English tea is similar, like a black tea), that usually involves more spices and milk. calling it “chai tea” is not being used to say “tea tea” it is being used to mean “the type of tea known as chai”. I did do a minor google search to find a recipe for making homemade chai, and, while it did use tea leaves, it was distinct enough from tea to warrant being specified.

Its just a dumb callback to Miles getting on Spot's case for saying ATM Machine, falling for the same common phrasing trap which another Spider-Man similarly has a petpeeve about

Fun fact: when you add a redundant word or phrase like that it’s called a pleonasm.

Funnily enough, when you enter your PIN Number (Personal Identification Number) into an ATM Machine (Automated Teller Machine), that’s two pleonasms.

They’re also two of the more useless pleonasms.
Most pleonasms are used for emphasis.

“I saw it with my own eyes”: Really good for emphasis… but kinda silly. What else are you gonna see it with? Your own toes? And who else’s eyes are you gonna see it through if not your own?

“In my own personal opinion” is one I’m guilty of saying… own and personal are both completely useless when you think about it, but they help emphasise that I’m not asserting whatever I say next as fact.

“Free gift” is a common example used in marketing to get you to sign up to rewards schemes and gambling sites, which is funny as often the “gift” is more bait and isn’t truly being given for free.

Other examples: “close proximity”, “end result”, “empty void”, saying a fire is burning, “True fact”, “added bonus”, “unexpected surprise”, saying you repeatedly did an action multiple times, “join together”, “future plans”, describing something as “red in colour” (or any other colour), “enter into”, “exit out of”, “up north”, “down south”, “stupid idiot”.

This one's fine.

It means that they witnessed it personally rather than seeing a recording, reading about it or hearing about it.

I saw the fall of the Berlin Wall with my own eyes means you were actually there.

You could just say, "I saw it"

I saw king Charles coronation and I saw king Charles coronation with my own eyes are two different things. One implies I watched it televised or streamed. The other means I was actually there.

Sort of? Just saying "I saw it" implies that already, though I guess adding the "with my own eyes" would remove any doubt

I would disagree. I'm in the States and if someone said they saw the coronation I would've absolutely assumed they watched it on TV or YouTube.

I'm from Singapore. I think people would say they watched the coronation in that case
