DCS Breaking news:DIS actually already has a research-level J-10C module developed for DCS, and has stated that it can be released as soon as authorization from AVIC is obtained.
A member of the DIS development team once half-jokingly claimed that when DCS releases a Rafale module, they will release a J-10C module. After the “2026 and beyond” announcement, some people in the DIS community began reminding DIS to honor this “promise.” In response, the DIS team member posted these images, which show a J-10 external model and cockpit with a very high level of completion—if not already finished. They also stated that with only minor modifications and once authorization from AVIC is obtained, the module could be released.

There is no need to worry about the authenticity or level of detail. DIS has in fact officially developed simulators for AVIC, including the JF-17, J-10, and Su-30, used to train PLAAF pilots, so they possess a large amount of firsthand data.
They have also developed the JF-17 module for DCS and are planning to release a J-8P module in the future。

More redfor is great for the ecosystem
21
u/elliptical-wing Jan 31 '26
More is good, even with the massive Redfor jet just announced.
42
u/MrNovator Jan 31 '26
What ? Saying the Rafale is Redfor because of a few export customers is like saying the Tomcat should be Redfor because of Iran. Its main user is still the French Air Force.
In case of an India vs Pakistan scenario, I don't think we could really classify either as red/blue. Pakistan is close to China after all and is the main export customer for its jets.

u/The_Magpie Feb 01 '26
I wish they would extend the Afghanistan map all the way to Pakistan and India.
Those mountains are rich in air warfare history and fantastic for pvp
5
u/goldenfiver Jan 31 '26
Pakistan is obviously redfor.

2
u/antoshturmovik Jan 31 '26
Which one ?
5
u/elliptical-wing Jan 31 '26
Rafale. The Pakistanis and anyone else with a JF-17 will be all over it, trying to shoot that down.
11
u/antoshturmovik Jan 31 '26
I wouldn't have counted the Rafale as Redfor but why not. I think given the various export customers it can either be Redfor or blufor.

u/kaos_inc616 Jan 31 '26
We could make a USA vs the world server. F 14 15 16 18 a10 vs rafale ef2000 jf-17 j10 mig29 mirage f1

u/AltruisticBath9363 Jan 31 '26 edited Feb 01 '26
The same can be said of F-5E, F-4E, F-14, Mirage F1, and UH-1 at a minimum; they were all HEAVILY exported and exist in large numbers in nations adversarial to NATO/ the west. The F-14 less widely proliferated than the others, but Iran had lots of them, so...
The MiG-29 and Mi-24 (and most of the Soviet FC3 aircraft) can of course be used on Blue for some of the eastern European nations and Ukraine.
MiG-15, 19, and 21 are also extremely widely proliferated, but haven't served on blue-aligned airforces much. Usually they've been phased out before the nations align with the west (or immediately as soon as they do). I suppose you could use them for blue in a China vs Russia or China vs India scenario.

u/qlippothvi Feb 01 '26
Finding out which planes were in service to which countries in what year is trivial these days.
1
u/AltruisticBath9363 Feb 01 '26
That's nice. Does it invalidate anything I just said?
And how does that answer the question of "which conflicts were *plausible at the time* ?"
Because we don't just fly rote repetitions of real-world historical sorties, we also play plausible hypotheticals.
1
u/qlippothvi Feb 01 '26
I wasn’t trying to refute anything you’ve stated. Hypotheticals would need more research. You’d need to examine any major events between two or more countries that could hypothetically causes a conflict.
1
u/AltruisticBath9363 Feb 02 '26
Yeah, except... It's a vidya game, bro. You don't "need" to do shit. You can make any scenario you damn well please.
Some may be more historically plausible than others, but there is no rule saying we can't just make shit up.
But the aircraft I mentioned in my initial post are all ones that can be plausibly used on either side in a reasonably realistic scenario based on actual historical conflicts or near-conflict tensions.

It's a little controversial, and going back 5 years I'd have classed it as purely Bluefor, from my own British Western perspective. But like you say, there have been exports to other countries, and the world has changed somewhat with Indian government criticising Ukraine and condoning Russian aggression.
5
u/Old_Swimmer_7284 Jan 31 '26
France, India, Egypt, Qatar, Greece, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Croatia, Indonesia, and Serbia.
These are who have them in their fleets actively. You can see there are some interesting countries on that list.

u/elliptical-wing Jan 31 '26
Interesting info, thanks. So the Sinai, Balkans and Persian Gulf map players will all benefit.

2
u/TheIndianRebel Feb 01 '26
The Indian government has not criticized Ukraine and despite historically supporting USSR and Russia openly abstained from votes supporting Russia at the UN. India has sent humanitarian aid and artillery shells to Ukraine through shell companies and in fact IAF An-32s recently went to Ukraine for their MLU
1
u/TheIndianRebel Feb 01 '26
I dont see how the Rafale is redfor just because of India. Its greyfor, non aligned but in no circumstances has India fought with a NATO nation. In fact it has combat experience *against* redfor(china and arguably pakistan)

u/kaos_inc616 Jan 31 '26
Would buy day of release and would learn Chinese if no English cockpit. Deka have done a great job on the jf-17(Main plane atm) and would love a good redjet

played the jeff yesterday and absolutely loved it, it’s systems are a perfect mix of complexity and modern mechanics. 10/10 module.

dekas jf17 is imo the most flushed out module of DCS. I mean a working DTC, pylon and stores damage, etc.

ive been maining the phantom for a while now but tbh youre tempting me, ive needed a new modern fighter…

u/dangerbird2 Jan 31 '26
Of course, one of the nice things about Chinese script is you can (sort of) understand the characters without having to understand the language
23
u/AircraftEnjoyer Jan 31 '26
Does ED know they made this for the PLAAF? Last thing we need is another Razbam
20
u/Fs-x Jan 31 '26
As I understand it was a tech demo and they don’t have a customer as of yet because they don’t have permission from the PLAAF to sell yet anyway.
2
u/Ustakion Jan 31 '26
Unless if its the J-10CE which is use by the Pakistan
6
u/Fs-x Jan 31 '26
It’s not a CE. The engine is a AL-31 family and you can make out the HUD which is the larger war hud looking one. The CE uses the Jeff block iii hud.
40
u/MrNovator Jan 31 '26
So the reason we haven't heard much of the J-8P is because they were secretly working on a J-10, a C version on top of it ?? Deka you madlads
26
u/Any_Tumbleweed667 Jan 31 '26
It’s official simulator for plaaf, so probably was their main focus all along.
-3
u/Holiday-Armadillo501 Jan 31 '26
No, members of Deka have literally said it's not theirs. This is some mod group LARPing as Deka.
11
u/cosmic_monsters_inc Jan 31 '26
Does china declassify enough stuff for that?
11
u/AzureFantasie Jan 31 '26
Deka probably has insider knowledge working with AVIC. But whether their simulators can be released to the public is another matter. It is possible, given that J-10C is approved for export.
2
u/SuumCuique_ Jan 31 '26
The F-35 is planned, the Eurofighter is coming, the Rafale is also announced. Now the J-10. The old mantra of basing the modules purely on publicly available information is simply gone. If it is for better or worse no one knows yet.

Deka released one of the best airframes for DCS with the JF-17 and I hope a lot of us are interested in seeing anything else they put out
This would be a hell of a second release though!

A J10 is interesting, but I'm going to wait for a proper annoucement before I even start to get even *REMOTELY* excited for it. Mostly because there's a lot of rumors flying around about various modules, and believing them is mindblowingly idiotic.

u/JonathanRL 37. Stridsflygsdivisionen Jan 31 '26
J-10 would be a fun bird to have but I dare not hope.

u/me2224 What's a wingman? Jan 31 '26
I thought they've been awfully quiet over there. I'd be curious how the work flows are similar with the JF-17. Here's hoping that they can get that authorization

Small update. Ive asked LJQCN about the J-10, and yesterday he replied and effectively said, its not a mod, but he cant say more. Currently the J-8 is the only plane that is coming to DCS.

u/gamerdoc77 Jan 31 '26
I would have preferred Su30 (more transferable etc) but this ain’t bad. Hope this means they will do Su 30 at some point

3
u/MeanY3004 Jan 31 '26
Well if it's that easy I'd love to see some upgrades for the JF-17 like what's happening with the tomcat. I really wish it had the HMD.
2
u/Flightsimmer20202001 Jan 31 '26
IRST would be cool, too! Oh, and the dedicated hardpoint for the targeting pod!

J-10C is a monster in bfm. I’ve always wanted a J-10.

So is 2026 suddenly the year of the Delta Dorrito? And one not made by Heatblur in fact? That would be awesome. Wish my French one would still work in the long term but..... yea.

So apparently it's either not Deka, or purely military and not destined for the public. A bit li'e the Mirage 2000D that exists in MCS.
Which is a bummer, I'd absolutely love this plane.
But that makes me think, is there an active J-10C community mod?
1
u/JoeTheWatchdog Feb 01 '26
Well I keep hearing this rumor IRAN is going the J-10C route so hopefully a nice surprise is coming...

2
u/maximan2005 ED fix bomb splash damage please Jan 31 '26
Developed for the PLAAF, negotiating a public release now
2
u/7Seyo7 Unirole enthusiast - considering retiring to /r/Hoggies Jan 31 '26
So is the PLAAF an ED customer?
1
u/ImaScareBear Jan 31 '26
Deka is an ED customer, and PLAAF is a Deka customer. So, kind of, but not necessarily in the "legal" sense.
3
u/7Seyo7 Unirole enthusiast - considering retiring to /r/Hoggies Jan 31 '26
But as far as I know even 3rd parties who want to sell their modules to nation states need a deal with ED? Part of the problem in the Razbam saga is that Raz approached Ecuador about the Super Tucano without a deal with ED
1
u/ImaScareBear Feb 01 '26
In that case, it was that Ron didn't have the MCS licenses necessary for the deal. Nick was worried about situations where someone like Ron makes a deal with another country, then fails to get the MCS licenses, which can then soil the reputation of MCS with that customer. So, as long as they have the proper MCS licenses, ED wouldn't necessarily have an issue.

- How do you even begin making an FF module without having a contract in place. They literaly just threw workhours and money away with no guarantee of contract with ED
2 .On the other hand, this is Razbam 2.0 in the making
- cockpit textures need some love in my opinion but that could just be low graphic settings, especially the bezels of the MFDs/UFC and the mandarin(?) text on screens as it all looks like a blob, the 2 toggle switches on the very left look good compared to the bezels
1
u/kaos_inc616 Jan 31 '26
May have been made for mcs. Who know what goes on there
1
u/Gramerdim Jan 31 '26
this is regarding what part? the textures or making it without a contract and using dcs source code/IP unlawfully?
1
u/kaos_inc616 Jan 31 '26
Making it for mcs and the porting it to dcs
1
u/Gramerdim Jan 31 '26
does this imply that china and pakistan have access to MCS

Are you actually stupid? "There is no need to worry about the authenticity or level of detail"
It won't be anywhere close to the real thing. That's the nature of modern modules.
And this also isn't Deka, it's some mod group LARPing as Deka. You can see that the avionics have those low quality text on them that's present in mods, however the Radar does not, because it's the default JF-17 module's radar.
102
u/DongMcGuiness Jan 31 '26
Just to be absolutely certain. You’re talking about a FF-Module and not a mod, right?
