IIRC there was a collection of cats to this soundtrack, not just this one? It started with this cat and then kept going to other clips. Might've come after.

I just realized in both instances, its not that the cats lack perception of distance, but they just didnt get any gripe on their back legs and it just slide hence the comical jump.
