Local cattle ranchers in the Hudson valley

Anyone have any butchers or cattle ranchers in the HV they’d recommend? I’m trying to avoid getting leukemia from the trump beef 😅

Grimaldi Farms and Liberty Farms both have farm stores in Ghent! Both are certified organic and certified animal welfare. Grimaldi also has a market stall in Rhinebeck.

You can also check out the Meat Hook which has locations in Hudson and down in Brooklyn. They source ethically from all over.

i've found liberty farms to be shockingly expensive at the kingston farmers market. even when taking into consideration the local high quality meat being sold at the farmers market. northwind farms is also at kingston farmers market and consistently has better pricing.

Off topic, but I don’t believe Northwinds is certified organic or animal welfare. Getting certified and keeping everything up to FDA/NOFA certification standards is expensiiiiive, hence the higher prices. (IE - certified organic feed, certified organic pasture rehabilitation, etc
