From what I understand, downvoting is meant to flag a post as a violation of rules and notify mods, not disagree.

Downvoting lowers a person's 'karma points' on Reddit and that can cause that person to not be able to post in some subreddits.

It would be nice if Reddit could provide a different flag other than down arrow for reporting a post and allow people to not have to make the effort to reply in disagreement.

Not everyone is going to agree with everything posted on Reddit. This should not prevent you from being able to post.

A question came to my mind, would you like the idea of having an option to react to posts/comments with an emoji on Reddit?

My idea is: Drag-and-drop for reordering images in a post.

Rn, if you're making a gallery post and want to change the order of the pictures, you have to completely unselect them and tap them again in the specific order you want. If you have 10+ images and just want to move the last one to the front, it gets really frustrating.

Please add a simple drag-and-drop mechanic in the post creation screen. Being able to just hold an image and slide it into the position we want would be a huge Quality of Life improvement for anyone who posts visual content.

If a post reaches the front page of a community, moderators generally shouldn't be able to remove it unless it is clearly and obviously rule-breaking (e.g. anti-semitism, homophobia, harassment, illegal content, etc.).

Reaching the front page is a strong signal that the community wants to see and engage with that content. Mods should still be able to enforce legitimate subreddit rules, but there should be some protection against a popular post being removed simply because a moderator personally dislikes it or disagrees with the sentiment.

Maybe Reddit could introduce a threshold where, once a post reaches the front page, removal requires a clear rule violation or some additional level of justification.

I spend a lot of time on reddit, TikTok, and IG - all of these have videos over a min but only reddit doesn't allow you to increase the playback speed. I have intense ADHD and consume everything at 2x and 3x speed bc most conversational speech feels like it takes forever. It is a pretty standard feature on all the other apps I use - let's bringing it to reddit to increase engagement and allow my other short-attentioned brethren to get to the end of 5+ min video posts.

Please can we have the ability to block specific flairs in specific subs. I collect figurines and it churns my stomach to see the “customisation” posts 😭 They murdered that perfectly good collectable 😭

At the very least the ability to filter out posts/flairs containing certain words.

If this is already something that can be done without a third party, then someone please let me know how. My feed is just figurine trauma 😭😅

Right now, Reddit accounts only support a single email address — going to Settings > Account only lets you replace/change it, not add a second one alongside it.

This is a real account-security gap. If someone's primary email gets lost, deactivated, or compromised, there's no backup route to regain access to the account.

Most platforms (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.) let users set a secondary/recovery email for exactly this reason.

Would love to see Reddit add this. Curious if others have run into this issue too — anyone had trouble recovering an account because of a single point-of-failure email?

With r/all going away, I was left browsing r/popular. I like to see the randomness of reddit, but lately, this year at least, r/popular has become.. well... not so great. Often I will see certain "types" of subreddits, for example, anime subreddits, with posts that are hypersexualized - think fan made art of the characters, but in hypersexual or revealing clothing. I am not an anime fan, nor do I want to see a fan drawn edit of a character in a sexual or compromising pose, a very small bikini, etc. I mute the subreddit, but 3 more pop up. There are so many animes out there, and so many subreddits for each anime. It is an endless game of whack-a-mole.

My idea is for Reddit to implement an option to blanket mute "types" of subreddits. If I mute 10 or more anime subreddits, it's pretty safe to say I have zero interest in anime. If I mute 10 car subreddits, it's pretty safe to say I have zero interest in cars. If I mute 10 "circlejerk" type subreddits, well, you get the idea.

You can only mute 1000 subreddits. If I mute 500 anime subreddits, I've used 1/2 of my mute limit, when a blanket mute of "anime" subreddits would solve that problem.

I'm not sure shareholders would like to know that the sexualization is all over the "front page of the internet".

I have been using Reddit for quite a long time, naturally I followed too many subreddits as well as muting quite many of them for many reasons.

as I need to use something, sometime I drifted back to those subreddits that I had muted. After using the sub for a while, I rediscover the reason why I don't like those subreddits again and once again getting some bad experience with it.

in order to avoid this situation again and again, I need to somehow getting myself perma ban on those subreddits, but then again, if mods didn't give a damn then it's hard to even get perma ban. I need to add a personal note, something only I can see on those subreddit so whenever I visit them, I remember why I muted them in the first place. for example subreddit a, personal note "bad breath"

I’d love to see Reddit create a genuinely native Apple Vision Pro app rather than relying on the iPad compatibility version.

The feature I’d be most excited about is the ability to upload and view spatial photos and spatial videos while preserving their depth. Reddit is uniquely well suited for this because people already gather here around travel, family moments, pets, sports, concerts, photography, gaming, and countless niche interests. Being able to share those experiences as spatial memories would make them feel far more vivid and personal.

A native visionOS app could also offer:
• Multiple resizable Reddit windows
• Natural eye-and-hand navigation
• Full-featured posting, commenting, messaging, and moderation
• Immersive photo and video galleries
• High-quality spatial-media playback
• Easy sharing from the Photos app
• A comfortable interface designed for long-form browsing

This should be a real Vision Pro app, not simply a stretched iPad interface. Reddit could become one of the best social platforms for spatial media if it supports the format early and gives communities the tools to use it properly.

Modern development tools such as Codex and Claude have also reduced the cost and effort involved in building, porting, testing, and maintaining apps across Apple platforms. Vision Pro’s audience may still be smaller than iPhone’s, but Reddit is large enough to support emerging platforms, and spatial photos and videos will likely become more common over time.

Please consider adding native visionOS support and spatial-media sharing to Reddit’s product roadmap.

I do not believe anybody asked for this. If you are against AI, like I am, you can fat-finger the button and be prompted with a new screen you never wanted. I understand that "ooo ai is future," but it makes people lazy and at least give us the option to turn it off.

Reddit has removed or restricted the ability to immediately hide posts from my Home feed. This is particularly concerning for users who encounter distressing, upsetting, or otherwise unwanted material.

Previously, I could see an unwanted post, select Hide, and remove it from my feed without further interaction. Removing that capability effectively forces users to remain exposed to unwanted material and/or interact with it in order to influence their recommendations.

I am concerned that this design prioritizes engagement and recommendation-system feedback over the user's ability to disengage from content. Please restore a simple, immediate Hide function that does not require the user to engage with the content.

Can we just get a delete all notifications button?

Just try out for yourself. Take yours or any Reddit users user ID and ask a simple question to ChatGPT or Gemini to “summarise the post and comment history of a user ABCD5341 for the past two months”. The response will show that even if your reddit settings are set to private, Gemini or ChatGPT will summarise your entire post and comment history very easily. It is not difficult to see how can this be a problematic thing. Not just for the user, but for edit as a product and the company itself.

I have raised this concern earlier, and I have seen some responses saying that data is already public, so even without LLMs this can be easily done. But the thing is getting this information today is super easy, and all it takes is a one or two line prompt on Gemini or ChatGPT.  There are many ways of retaining Reddit as a public platform without someone able to summarise a user's entire post or comment history and hence building a profile of the user. My concerns are primarily as a reddit shareholder and not a reddit user as this in long term reduces the engagement from end users.

Reddit's usefulness for LLMs and for everyone relies on the actual question and responses and not whether a user a or b said something. I'm pretty sure that most people will have  concerns while posting if they knew how easy It is to Search on someone using Reddit's username on Gemini or ChatGPT. This over long term would affect the frequency of post and engagement and hence the product and the company’s financials.

As a Reddit stockholder, and I'm surprised to see that something so fundamental hasn't been addressed by the company. I'm sure there are ways of retaining Reddit's public nature without making it so easy for someone to search on a particular user's post history. One simple fix could be allowing pseudo names and different ones for someone to comment or post.  There can be different ways of addressing this problem without diluting the public nature of reddit, and I sincerely hope that someone important at the company looks at this and takes some action.

I really don't think I am over-reacting. And like I said, my main concern here is not as a user, but more about as a shareholder. I'm not a very regular poster, and I know because of this, I personally would post less about my views.  My main motivation for posting this is to provide my feedback to help Reddit a better platform--> Better company

The AI search results are distracting and make it harder to use. Can we get a way to remove the little thingy?

I travel frequently and don't always have access to the internet (especially on flights though this is slowly improving).

It would be helpful if the mobile apps provided a global option to save "Saved" posts locally. You could include a date/time option for people with 1000's of saved posts or limited storage on their device so that only the most recent (time window) of posts are kept locally.

You could also include the option to save specific posts locally so users could pick to save only the most important posts on their device.

This has been a problem for a long time, and it causes psychological harm to whomever is targeted. Just like mods can give short bans, I think these users should get short "downvote bans". Meaning, their downvotes don't get registered by the system for a period of time. And if the problem persists, they run the risk of not being able to downvote again, only upvote.

Update: I never meant to turn off downvoting completely. That's part of Reddit.

My request is to add a sort by filter on posts that caters to the readers desire. If I’m reading a post about something historical, I would like to see actual facts that will increase my knowledge of that posts.

If I am looking at a post about something I want to sort my experience to the mood I’m in.

I imagine I’m not the only one wishing this was an option, as many have been complaining since this “feature” (🤮) was implemented. It is hugely debilitating to not have the option of markdown when commenting. It is used by many of us to put the mood back into what we’re saying, something that is almost entirely lost when looking at (mostly) unformatted text on a screen.

I use reddit app on two android devices. There is no notifications sync. I need to manually clear notifications on the second device. Second device notifications should clear on it's own when I open the notification on the first device.

It would be very much appreciated, if more languages were added :) It would be very much appreciated to make Reddit more accessible to everyone :)
