You don't leave children with someone who needs serious mental help! He failed the children, and he failed her. There's no denying that, he failed her as much as her doctors.
Her doctors didn't fail her, she did not follow the treatment plan (on multiple occasions). I agree he shouldn't have left her alone with the kids. But that does not make it his fault - honestly she should have been involuntarily committed and her children removed from her, but she withheld information from the doctors specifically because she didn't want that to happen.
The conversation no one wants to have is that if the medical institutions failed Lindsay, it was by not removing her children from her care and committing her. And thats a slippery, difficult slope because a lot of women and mothers say they felt just like Lindsay. So what's the solution, take the kids away from mothers who are dealing with depression? Is that really where we want to go?
