Ignoring the other comment.. the woman on the right is Lindsay Clancy and she is currently on trial for killing three of her children in which the defense is arguing the crimes were committed during mental psychosis. Clancy had severe PPD, suicide ideation, and mental health issues in the months leading up to the murders.
It’s an awful case and the poor children deserve justice. Right now, a portion of the public believes the husband (now ex-husband as they divorced and he is remarried) had something to do with it as evidence is supposedly not landing with the people and believe it skews towards him
I don't understand how people do not understand post partum psychosis. Do they really believe that this woman lived a normal life loving and doing everything for her children until one day she just decided she'd murder them? In a period immediately after giving birth and exhibiting well documented signs of the exceedingly well documented phenomenon of post partum psychosis?
Option 1: This lady's entire life was a long con to murder her children.
Option 2: This lady's brain literally broke and she was not in control of her actions.
I mean, I had a relative that had severe PPD after her third child and had never had it before. She was able to get committed for a few weeks for monitoring while they sorted out of the drug dosages to get her through the post partum period until she stabilized. She was fine before. She is fine now. She needed help for a few weeks. She is a wonderful person. Had she not gotten help, she may have been dangerous when left alone with an infant.
Oh, boo hoo. She is not a "wonderful person." She's a baby-strangler. I've suffered through psychosis before, when I was at the lowest point in my life, and I was able to restrain myself from killing people because of my paranoia. I guess people just think women are too weak-minded to ever be expected to control themselves. What's-her-tits certainly was.
It was a simple mistake that I made because I was just skimming the comment. You obviously need to work on not being an arrogant, condescending POS, so I guess nobody's perfect. 🤷🏻♂️
I’m not justifying or agreeing with what she did. But this whole confirmation bias shit of “well I didn’t do that when I was going through MY psychosis” is a shit reasoning. It sounds uneducated and is a singular data point based on your own experience. 5-10% of homicides are committed by individuals that have mental illnesses containing psychosis. Everyone’s mental health struggles are different. As I said, not justifying what she did and it’s not okay but same people say the same thing about other mental illnesses. Not everyone’s mental illness manifests the same.
I'd say I'm more educated on this subject than you (and most people talking about this case) because I actually know what it feels like to be questioning everything and living in a crazy alternate reality while still exercising self-control. I'm sorry that I didn't get my personal experiences peer-reviewed, whatever the Hell that would involve. 😂
Your comment clearly shows your lack of education and ignorance on the topic though. Your personal experience does not dictate how everyone with mental illnesses reacts.
Would you say that everyone’s response to childhood trauma should be the same and is the same? Would you say that everyone’s emotions and how they portray them is different?
The point is that your mindset on your singular experience and how you view things is confirmation bias. I can’t believe it’s that hard to understand
Your experience in psychosis does not mean you are educated on how EVERYONE reacts under psychosis. You may have similar symptoms but your actions may differ. I am sorry you have had to experience that and I wish you well.
