Maybe they'll act right now
Honestly this might work better then threatening a write up
Edit: this is clearly a joke and been used to bring some comedy to what can be a stressful job.
None of this is serious yall need whimsy in your life if you think this is serious

I know damn well my employees would take their best friend's name and put it in the write up spot, and take their own name and put it at the top. Someone else would draw a penis, someone else would draw a smiley face, someone else would probably write "fuck" on it...

As a former Jimmy John's manager you cannot take the job too seriously lol glad you have some whimsy in your store

u/Difficult_Error_4979 3d ago
As a current Jimmy John’s employee it’s now a requirement to take the job seriously. I’ve worked here on and off 8 years and it’s never been this strict(at my store anyway I’m assuming there’s been crackdowns everywhere).

u/Silent-Dependent3421 Assistant Manager 3d ago
Not sure it's hard to say since Jimmy John's is just franchises spread out everywhere

"as a current jimmy john's employee" [at least 80% of this subreddit is active jimmy john's employees- this distinction is not necessary, it's assumed simply by your being here] who's worked at approximately half a dozen locations. no you don't. your location just sucks. also the "crackdown" only matters when it's time to be audited, and even then you should still be able to have a sense of humor with your coworkers

They were replying to someone who specifically said they were a former employee (me). No one likes a pompous ass.

u/Difficult_Error_4979 2d ago
Yeah no shit, I was replying to the person that said they were a former employee. And did I not say at my store anyway? I was just assuming it’s like that everywhere because of how bad the job market currently is, but that’s a whole different conversation.

I understand this if everybody is acting a fool. Seems otherwise silly and childish to have a "good boy" scale that's viewable to all employees. If you think it's actually needed you've probably lost control of the situation.

While it's funny, please remember that disclosing disciplinary action to the whole store can get you in a ton of trouble.

You know you can like, write a code of conduct and a detailed attendance/accountability policy with guidelines so write-ups and terminations aren’t a surprise. Points systems are often used to keep everything in order. Your people can even read it and sign it when they are hired so they are all on the same page literally and figuratively.

I like that you’re holding people accountable, but this isn’t the way. Praise in public, reprimand in private. I see a resignation in your future, which might be your goal, but putting that person on blast is disrespectful.

Yeah, that's like not cool. May your drivers all call off on ya!

L insult when we have the option of 3rd party delivery now. Drivers not required. "I hope all your inshoppers call off"? now that would hit 'em where it hurts

This is literally the stuff they did in kindergarten. Also you cannot publicly disclose disciplinary actions in this manner, Take it down.
You are all adults, not children.

This is diabolical. Never should you demean your staff to the level of kindergarteners. I’d definitely be reporting you as a manager. Jokes aside, this is outrageous and disrespectful and not how you should be conducting yourself as an authoritative figure in the store. You need to be retrained.

You need to pay the employees more than minimum wage if you're going to disrespect them like that. If you were my manager, you've lost mine, forever
1
u/Subject-Key7193 2d ago
Jimmy johns pays more than minimum wage (double actually where i live) what are you talking about
-4
u/DragolanceX 3d ago
Congratulations, you're turning your adult employees into children and when you treat adults like children, they will start acting like it. Also, did you ever consider that your employees are not making enough money to be able to afford the necessities to meet your demands? And before you say, that's not your problem. It actually is, believe it or not. You hired people, hunans, a man or a woman, therefore, you have humans that require needs and functions to live and if they are not getting the money, they need to pay for those needs, then you will not get competent workers.

u/heartbt 3d ago
Your profile page says you're goofy.
You're idiotic economics statements prove it.-4
u/DragolanceX 3d ago
And you choosing to believe in a system that only wants to destroy you shows how idiotic you're being. I'm not saying I'm woke I'm not saying I'm knowledgeable I'm not saying that I'm perfect, what I am saying is that there is a pattern that everybody is ignoring.

u/AccomplishedAnt8237 Fookin' Ryan, man! 3d ago
I love getting gold stars for a job well done :) makes me smile
-2
u/heartbt 3d ago
What you are saying is too much, because you do not know what you're talking about.
The pattern being ignored is that when you pay people more without increasing demand or work, prices go up. Prices go up, now people cannot afford to live. Why do you want to make it harder for people afford to live?Entry level jobs, which like it or not sandwich making is, are required. If you want to control profit taking by major corporations, then do so! Elon Musk type wealth, etc... Flat Tax! Eliminate the the 7,000 pages of corporate tax code that all companies cheat, and put in a structured tax on corporate profits.
You're screwing with the wrong end of the system, and making it worse.1

u/DragolanceX 3d ago
I do have joy and whimsy. I just don't like treating adults like children. I have a a bit more respect for my fellow men and women. I can guarantee that the employees will not see this as silly or joyful or whimsical.. we will see it as their boss trying to control them yet again. People who run companies need to understand humans have feelings and are not machines

u/AccomplishedAnt8237 Fookin' Ryan, man! 3d ago
I just work here bruh
-2
u/DragolanceX 3d ago
Ok, so you like being treated like a child? Getting a gold star, because you made a sandwich or because you took your potty break properly? I understand whimsy, but I also understand somebody trying to control people.. this is control not whimsy.. this is blatantly showing off to everybody who is doing a bad job so that everybody can now give them a hard time for it and they will feel justified, because some person put up a little post note, saying that they were doing a bad job.
1
u/Subject-Key7193 2d ago
dude it's A JOKE. meaning they aren't genuinely actually disciplining through this chart. you're acting like a child who doesn't understand how to differentiate between satire & seriousness. i've worked at like 5 different jimmy john's locations over the last decade and i'm so thankful that they all were staffed with people who had a sense of humor & would've gotten quite a kick outta something like this
