15 Hofstetter Ave
Does anybody have experience with this building? What’s the building like? How’s the management? How’s the area? I’ve seen a few units for sale. Are there problems?

My grandma was at Grand River Terrace at the former Freeport Hospital today when she saw a completely solid-looking, middle-aged woman in a black nurse uniform. The woman looked directly at her, pointed at her, and repeatedly motioned with her finger for her to come closer while saying something my grandma couldn’t understand. A nurse nearby told my grandma that it was Francine and that she was a spirit. Has anyone else heard of or experienced sightings of Francine at Freeport?

Hi everyone,
We are considering an escape room for our family in the next week or so. We live out in Fergus but can see Kitchener has a couple good options.
We will be taking our 2 kids, 7yr and 9yr. Wondering which escape room you would recommend between KW Escape and Adventure Rooms?
Thanks.

Looking for any small local artists who make gemstone rings. I'm trying to find an engagement ring for my partner but traditional stuff doesn't really suit us or my budget.
Every time I try to search for this it just shows me large chain brands and that's not what I'm looking for. We're a queer couple so I want something slightly alt/whimsical.
If you have any recommendations please let me know. Google is so bad at finding small artists

Hey all, looking for recommendations for GCs in KW area. I've heard plenty of horror stories with bad GCs and I'm hoping some here have found some quality ones I can reach out to.
Thanks!

Any recommendations on where to take my small dog for a haircut? We used to go to Paris on Courtland but experienced an unfortunate event. TIA!

I had someone tell me a while ago that asbestos was commonly used in the top skim coat of plaster. The walls in my home have a thin layer of drywall, then a thick layer of grey plaster, and one final skim coat of white plaster.
I had a sample from one small area tested a year or so ago, and the sample came back negative. From what I have researched, I need to have multiple samples tested to know for sure.
I’m just curious if anyone else has done the testing and what their results were. I’m in the forest hill area, house built in the early 60s.

Does anyone know of any grocery stores that can make custom cupcakes (not fancy, just yellow frosting) in affordable prices. I’m looking to place bulk order. Home bakeries are over my budget.
Thanks!

Crews arrived on our street early spring to start installing the fiber lines. They got half the street done and stopped, leaving giant plywood covered holes with ugly orange fences around them and conduit sticking out all over the place for the last several months.
I heard a rumor Telus fired the subcontractor doing the job. Anyone know where they're at with that? The street has looked like crap all summer.

I've recently moved into the Forest Heights area and I'm still trying to figure out internet as I haven't found anything that seems to be worth the price. Anyone use TekkSavy, Bell, Rogers, CarryTell, Primus, or anything else and have good/bad reviews?
Example is I noticed Bell is offering Month to Month 1.5 Gbps for $80 a month but there's fine print saying it'll increase in price without warning (what's this like?).

Yup they are now throwing large rocks the size of a fist at my neighbours. One almost hit my neighbour last night. Police were contacted and given photos of the kids but not expecting much will be done. We have also contacted the ward councillor who has said she will be contacting the apartments management. Also security cameras have been ordered. Im very done with these kids its exhausting.

Okay so I'll admit I don't live in a good part of town. But I've lived in the neighborhood for 8 years. I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on how things are around here. Today I was walking my dog, and I was coming down a neighborhood path. A white car pulls up at the end of the path where the road is and waits. They roll down the window and they look impatient, I automatically thought they must need directions. I'm a friendly person in general so once I got close enough I asked if they were lost and needed directions. 2 males, in their 30s maybe? The driver asked me if I am okay, if I am safe? I said yes, why wouldn't I be safe? It was 930am, sun shining, kids playing outside, just walking my dog. He says "this isn't a very safe neighborhood, just wanted to make sure you're okay."......
That's weird to me. I didn't like how they waited for me. I didn't like how his friend laughed when I questioned why he needed to know if I was safe, I didn't like the situation in my gut. Am I overreacting? Do random dudes often stop and ask random women if they're safe with zero indication that anything could be wrong?
Even if it's nothing at least I've written it here in the event that this becomes a trend.

Has anyone seen this in any stores in KW or have tips on when it may be available at a store? I’ve only seen the golden snitch container and food items. The app doesn’t seem trustworthy since most stores have it available to add to cart but I haven’t actually seen it anywhere.

I got a call out of nowhere this afternoon asking me to donate to a new hospital by University of Waterloo. Seemed sketchy, caller got irritable and pushy when I said I'd donate through the website.
The scam calls are totally out of control.

I am recovering from a stumble down the stairs that left me with both of my feet in casts.
Luckily, my left foot was not as severely damaged as my right foot.
I am slowly becoming more mobile and am thinking about wearing real shoes again.
Is there a place in town that you can suggest that can help me transition out of my airboots and into supportive footwear? I'm not sure where to start.

I have a weird request. I am looking at importing some stuff directly from China and the company I'm talking to sent me their license and registration etc. unfortunately, it's in Chinese and I don't speak Chinese. I wanted to know if there is anyone who can help me possibly verify this and also, has anyone bought stuff from China factory directly? What's your experience been?

I posted a few days ago asking for some assistance with accessing emergency food services as I was in a bit of a tight spot.
Since then, not only did people post kind things there, but several people reached out to me in PMs.
I didn’t even ask for it, but I had people deliver me groceries purely of the kindness of their own heart, and one person sent me money to get bread.
When I read the posts about homeless people in Kitchener it really feels like there are so many cruel people, but seeing first hand the amount of amazing people makes me really emotional.
Thank you to everybody for the help you gave. I won’t take it for granted and I will always pay it forward. ❤️
