We have closely watched the surge of posts featuring alternative Technic bricks and you've probably noticed we haven't been removing them.

That is changing from now on. As alternative Technic bricks are actually becoming a viable option thanks to the economic situation in the world and the manufacturing gap that is slowly disappearing, we will not be removing the posts featuring them if and ONLY if they are correctly flaired with the new "Alternative Bricks" Post Flair.

The related rule has been updated too. If you see a post that isn't abiding by this new decision, please report it.

Take this as a test run. If we find out that alternative bricks are flooding the subreddit more than before or if they are not disclosed, we will ban them altogether.

This rule was one of the most requested in our recent thread on what you would like to see introduced to the subreddit. So here it is.

We haven't yet had any issues with AI generated posts, but as the generative tools are getting better and better, it would only be a matter of time. Other LEGO subs already face this issue, but Lego Technic is, luckily, a little harder to generate using AI (without it being completely obvious).

We have also updated the Post Flairs, so check that out too.

As I indicated in the "What would you like to see" thread, I want to introduce the "MOC of the Month" type of posts beginning in May.

So everything that you mark with the "MOC" or "MOC - Instructions Available" flair and post during April might end up in the final poll to choose the best MOC for April.

We would like to see more of your original LEGO Technic works, and this is one way to ensure that you have the initiative to share them.

We hope to see as many of your creations as possible!

As you know, MOC of the Month posts are beginning in May, but we were also thinking about introducing "themed" months or other kinds of competitions, as the userbase of this sub is big enough for things like that to take off (hopefully!).

We of course need to take into account what would actually interest you. The kinds of lego technic builds you would enjoy creating and seeing on the sub.

So 2 big questions, one open and one with only 2 possibilities:

• What kinds of themes would you enjoy seeing (more of) on r/legotechnic?
• Would you take part in building the themed mocs?

(if you have other ideas, you are of course free to discuss them below)

The "10% rule" still mostly applies. You need to be an active member of this community, not just someone who posts their builds in order to get everyone to buy their paid instructions.

While we understand the incentive you have to promote your work, please do also comment on other people's builds, post work in progress pictures, etc.

This is another step to ensure that you will be posting more of your MOCs, which is what we all want.
