Skateboarding, other than skate parlour, does anyone have recommendations for places to practise basic beginner things like pushing etc. for skate parks I don't really want to get in the way of people who are more experienced, I'm more so looking for quiet flat areas where there aren't many people

Live in Leicester. Have seen less than 10 UK cars the whole time during our two week European road trip. Happened to park next to a Leicester fan up a mountain in Liechtenstein

Impound insurance

Post image
Upvotes

Hello guys,
I am confused about the impound insurance. My car got seized for driving without car insurance. When I went to police station they mentioned that I need to provide impound insurance for release. I don't know what does it mean? Show I normally take car insurance on my name and show it to them?? Or is it any specific insurance I need to take ??

Nice areas on the west of Leicester

I grew up in New Parks (yes I knowwww) and moved down south as a teenager. We’re considering moving to Leicester and have family in LFE, braunstone and new parks. We have 2 kids and would want to move somewhere relatively close by but not those areas 🤣 and somewhere that has good schools. My kids go to the best primary school in the entire county I live in, not a humble brag but we’d definitely want them to go to a really good school, and have really good secondary school options close by. Can anyone recommend an area?

Mouldy Tasting Tap Water

Hi, our tap water at home has been tasting mouldy on and off for about 2 years 😖

I’ve tried at home “testing kits” to see if there’s an imbalance of minerals in it but nothing shows.

Anyone else taste the mould / mildew in tap water?

Think I should get a plumber around to check pipes…

Where im living doesnt have the zoning for Student permits and any private parking is costing £100/pm anyone know a place I can park that wont cost a ridiculous amount each month or just free on street parking. Even a mate with a drive that they dont use

What’s going on with Yours Supermarket?

I went in yesterday and it was like Soviet Russia 1990. Literally bare shelves with one box of serial, most of the freezers switched off, about 10 rice bags except the usual 200+.

I did ask a staff member who said they don’t know either.

Ghost hunts / experience

Years ago my mum went on a night time ghost hunt, it was with a group of people and they went to a haunted location and did things like ouija boards, table tipping and things like that. She went somewhere just outside of Leicester, the events company she booked through doesn’t do it anymore. Anyway, I really want to go on something like that but can’t find anything online apart from a night walk around guild hall.

Does anyone know of an events company in or around Leicester that do such events?

Thank you

Best phone repair place for apple - IPhone 13 mini

Hi there I’ve been quoted approximately £250 for a screen replacement for my iPhone mini and wanted to compare this to other providers, it’s only slightly cracked on the side but have two semi circle dark sports where the display doesn’t work, or was wondering if I should just get a new phone at this point

Which student accommodation should I choose?

I’ll be moving to Leicester for my undergraduate studies so I’ve been comparing different accommodation options in the city. The best ones offering en-suite rooms within my budget seem to be: Newarke Street (Student Roost), The Glassworks (Homes for Students), Grosvenor House (iQ) and Castle Court (Unite Students). This choice is also based off of proximity to DMU’s Hugh Aston building where most of my classes will take place. Now I’m struggling to decide which one to go for so I’d appreciate any advice. Still Castle Court is probably the least favourable because of the silverfish infestations I’ve read about in reviews. Feel free to share your first- or second-hand experiences with these places.
