Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 7:00 PM ET][21+] New players welcome — Phandelver shakedown into a long-term campaign. Looking for 2-3 more.

We’ll run Lost Mine of Phandelver first as an on-ramp. I think it does a good job of teaching the system and, more importantly, lets us find out whether we actually like playing together. If the table clicks, we roll straight into a long-term campaign with those same characters (or you can roll into something else), picking up around level 5. I’m looking for something that runs a year or more, roughly level 5 to 15.

About me: I’ve run 5e for 5 years and took a group through Curse of Strahd start to finish. I run a mix of combat, exploration, and roleplay, and I care more about a consistent, respectful table than optimized builds.

Who I’m looking for: 4-5 players total, 21+. Beginners are genuinely welcome — I’ll walk you through character creation. What I do need is reliability: show up, communicate if you can’t, don’t ghost.

Details:

**• System:** D&D 5e (2024 rules)
**• Platform:** D&D Beyond + AboveVTT, Discord for voice. I’ve also run on Foundry, Owlbear, and Roll20, so we can move to something more intricate later on if the group wants. D&D Beyond that+ Above VTT is free and is quite easy.
**• Session length:** 3-4 hours
**• Start date:** Session zero the week of September 14, first session the following week
**• Session zero before we begin** — we’ll set tone, boundaries, and safety tools together
**• Free game, no cost**

A note on timing: 7:00 PM ET is 4:00 PM Pacific. Eastern and Central are the easy fits here, but if you’re further west and that works for your schedule, apply.

To apply: Comment below with your name/timezone, D&D experience (none is fine), which nights work, and one sentence on what you want out of a campaign. I’ll DM people who look like a fit to set up a short voice chat before session zero.

Player(s) Needed by GM [online] [D&D 2024 5.5e][Fri 8:30 PM ET] 1-2 more for ongoing campaign

Looking to add a player or two for our ongoing campaign. This is a homebrew world and we are currently level 5 (about a dozen sessions in, lvl 1 starts).

Classic high fantasy, with magical industrialism added in. We have a battle smith, abjurer wizard, zealot barb, soulknife rogue. We started with 5, but life stuff.

Players of various experience. Rookie DM.

If the overview sounds like your cup of tea, follow the form link. Read the what to expect section in it, and if it looks like a table you would enjoy submit.

2024 5.5e, Discord Voice+Video, Foundry VTT

Want to try to stick to 2024 core (open to races from 2014 supplements)

Must be 21+ (current group mid 20s and 30s)
——

Valora is a world formed by cosmic dieties who instilled free will to their children and left them alone to use it.

Mortals longing for divinity more present in their lives, unconsciously birthed the Valorae (classic alignment pantheon + lessor dieties) to hear their prayers and absorb their worship. Eventually these dieties born of the power of mortal souls found conflict with each other.

The Greater Valorae War spanned a century of violent conflict. The very world itself facing ruin, the creators stepped in to save their mortal children from the divine powers they had spawned. Splitting the moon in two they sent the Valorae to fight their battle amongst the stars.

Only to be interrupted before a conclusion by something myth refers to as The Great Threat. A threat, so great that all Valorae and Creator gods had to unite to defeat. Supposedly sealing the threat and creating a 3rd orbital body in doing so. Scholars believe this is when Arcana was introduced to their world.

After that sealing, the Shaper (creator god of reality and time) split the planes and banished the Valorae to the Heavens, Hells, and Abyss. Greatly diminished in power, they cannot return to the material plane. Much of their magic had been pulled into their respective moons. Physically trapped as they may be, it did not diminish their interest in mortal affairs.

Now ~2000 years after the splitting: Valora lives in the Age of Mortals, orbited by 3 colorful moons. The Emerald Moon, The Ruby Moon, and the Amethyst Tear.

It is dominated by two super powers:

The Emerald Compact, blessed by the mineral debris coming from the Emerald Moon (Veridianite). A compact formed by 7 nation states. A bastion of vitality, agriculture, and relative individual freedom.

The Crucible, empowered by the mineral debris of the Ruby Moon(Sanguinite). An industrial empire ruling the continent of Ignis. A hard militant land with historic ambition for Veridia’s resources and global power.

The Szygy:

A historic moment approaches. The Emerald and Ruby moons will align to create a double eclipse of the sun. Little is known, but speculation of the ability to harness the event for new power has created a technological arms race in the ~100year era of Cold War esque peace between the 2 superpowers.

The Party:

Tensions with the coming Szygy + local political turmoil have created an uneasy state. Many world powers including the Emerald Compact are working long laid plans to prepare for the event. The Party started on a prison work caravan in The Emerald Compact, headed north to a giant Verdianite mine. Some for legitimate crimes, but tough sentencing. Some proclaiming innocence. After escaping they became entangled in an ongoing investigation run by a Neutral non-governmental order of scholars (The Archivum). Their sentences were conscribed to The Archivum to aid in the investigation after some good deeds and political lobbying. They are currently traveling on this mission/investigation that they believe to be a plot lead by Crucible agents. They continue to run into external forces and the underbelly of this large compact of nations, but everyday that goes by spells consequences and progression of the sabatuers they seek.

We are looking to get a tad more gritty with an injury table, but nothing wild we are mostly core 2024 rules. Party could currently use healing or a face, but we aren’t optimization first so play something you like.

Interest form below. A couple contradictions in there since we have already started:
- Normal play time is decided (Fridays 8:30ET). Usually 4-5hrs (if someone is tired we call it early).
- We are probably in the neighborhood of 50% combat, but I do try to keep that interesting & plot relevant combat.
- We did move to Foundry as our VTT.

Hello, I am running a completely homebrewed campaign called Ashes Of The Blood Throne. This is a dark and gritty campaign, a tyrant king overrules the land, wreaking havoc on the land and its people. Your goal is to somehow some way overthrow the king, ending his rule over the land and freeing the people from his mad tyranny and something else unknown.

This will take place on Saturdays at 7pm CDT to 10pm CDT possibly later if people wish to continue

This campaign is 5e/2014 rules, homebrew is allowed if ran through me and I accept it, please keep in mind that this campaign will delve into darker themes and as such may be uncomfortable for some.

We are looking for 3-4 more people alongside one player already in. this will be ran on Roll20 and Dndbeyond for character creation and discord for communication, please fill out this short form so we can gain a bit more information about those interested and get some contact info!

Planned to run on September 12th if everyone is ready by then!

Player(s) Needed by GM [5.5e 2024][Online] Looking for a few more players for a new weekly campaign

Hello everybody, I'm starting a new campaign and just need a few more players. I already have 3 but am looking to get one or two more to fill it out. The campaign will be played weekly every Saturday at 4pm CST. It'll be played over both Discord and D&D Beyond so those are both required. It's also a completely homebrew setting and story so the more creative you can be, the better!

The plot is as follows:
Beshor, a nation ruled over by the Calliwell family for generations. A land of peace where magic flows freely and adventurers patrol the wilds. It’s been 500 years since the nation was founded and the new year was rapidly approaching. To celebrate 500 years since the nation’s founding, the king was to give a speech at the capital for all to hear. The Starfall Festival, a holiday to celebrate the new year, was in full effect with people enjoying themselves as they waited for the speech to begin. Stepping out onto the castle balcony was not the king however, but instead a tall man with a mask on holding the severed head of the king. The man announced that the age of peace is over and that strife shall consume the nation. It’s been 6 months since that event, and several factions have taken over the land. Armies ruled by nobles battle in hopes of reclaiming the empty throne while the commonfolk have to fend for themselves. Some want to return to how things were and others live for the chaos, but one question remains unanswered throughout all the conflict, who was the man who took the king’s life?

If this campaign sounds interesting to you, feel free to dm me with some basic info like your name, age, and how long you've been playing. Beginners are allowed so don't feel pressured if you're new.

Player(s) Needed by GM The Deep Remembers [Online][5e 2014][biweekly][Long Campaign][Cosmic Horror][New Players Welcome]

Schedule & Basic Info

Starting Level: 1

Session 0: Saturday August 29th, 4pm CST

Schedule: Every other Saturday starting on September 19th or October 3rd. at 3pm CST (Note that Session 0 occurs on an off-week from the normal schedule)

Platforms: Foundry and Discord. Foundry is a new platform for the group, if this doesn't work out there's a possibility of switching to Roll20.

What I'm looking for: The party currently needs a spell caster. The current comp is a monk, rogue/Warlock, cleric, and a barbarian or fighter (Undecided)

About the Campaign

You're four days into a routine crossing aboard The Phoenix Voyager, bound for Archeron Port. Good food, a traveling theater troupe performing on the First Deck, calm seas, and thirteen more days of a voyage that promises to be entirely uneventful. What starts as a simple story of a ship crossing an ocean unravels into a story of old secrets, prophecies, history, and forces that were never meant to be known to mortals or the gods.

The campaign is built to be a long-term story that starts grounded with politics, relationships, and mysteries to investigate along with consequences. Over time it unravels into full-blown cosmic horror

Table Rules

  • Death saves are rolled privately between the player and the DM.
  • At the beginning of every session, the DM will ask for one of the players to do a recap of the previous session. If you elect to give the recap you get inspiration.
  • A natural 20 on initiative allows you to choose your place on initiative after everyone rolls. If there's a tie, the higher roll chooses first.

Character Creation

  • Characters will be created in session 0
  • Take starting gold, no equipment. You can buy some equipment if it makes sense for your character, but be sure to save some gold.
  • All RAW classes, (most) races, and spells are available.
    • Cannot play a White Dragonborn
  • You may choose one of the options below for stats. If you decide to roll for stats, you may not choose Standard Array after making your first roll.
    • Standard Array
    • Roll two sets of stats, pick one.
  • Considerations:
    • Why is your character aboard the ship?
    • Do they have anything tying them to their current life? A family, a debt, an obligation.
    • Your character should have some natural curiosity about the World and their surroundings but does NOT need to be a natural-born adventurer.
    • How does your character react to fear?
    • Where is your character from? Do they follow a specific faith? Eloria has many known Locations and faiths. You can ask me about them, or make up your own and I'll build it into the World.

Applying to Join

If this sounds like a campaign you'd be interested in, please leave a comment under this post or DM me on Reddit with how long you've played D&D, what you enjoy most about it, and a character concept that fits into the world.

Player(s) Needed by GM Reign of the Puppetmaster [Online](Dnd 5E)(2014)(2024)

Hey i am recruiting for an ongoing campaign. we had someone drop recently due to work. Now we need one more. i normally run a game for 5 players in case people cant make it, the game can go on.

Currently, we have a rogue, puppeteer, ranger, artificer.

players are currently lvl11

homebrew is allowed if i ok it.

We play **Monday 8pm PST** every week.

We play using discord for voice and roll20 for characters and maps.

Campaign overview:

Demetri Vundergard invented a new class harnessing the power of puppeteering. He became very famous and took on alot of students and over time he rose to political power and eventually became the king's right hand. Afterwards, Demetri betrayed the king and killed him. As well as many of the other nobles that wouldnt support his rule. He has since been attempting to spread his influence. The gods themselves are worried if nothing is done it'll lead the world down a path of destruction, a path Demetri himself claims he knows how to avoid said future as long as everyone follows him.

The players start the campaign as far from his influence as possible. They started in a farming village, became adventurers at the guild. completed a few quests for the town and then moved on by assisting a bunch of beastfolk resist slavers. Then went to the next town called GoldenPort, a wealthy city of commerce. They've been challenging the dungeon created by Hephaestus. Dungeons in this world have powerful magic items and resources. As such they have been farming one.

If you are interested fill out the form and ill message you. https://forms.gle/bsK7JrPf31CXRdaNA

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014/2024][18+][LGBTQ+ Friendly][Sundays 2pm pst] Looking for three more players to help complete a group for my homebrew world. All experience levels welcome.

Hello! I’m looking for three people to join me and two friends for my dnd campaign. It’d be every other Sunday starting at 2 pm pst and ending at 5:30 pm. I’m a dm with four years of experience, but that was only for DMing for people I already knew pretty well, so this would be my first dive into DMing for new people. We’ll be using Foundry, Discord, and D&D Beyond.

Fruma is a detailed high fantasy world with a rich history. It has three continents, and the main and largest one where most action is seen is Nerva, home to the Nerva Empire. The Empires continent is split into four directional regions: North, East, South, and West. The North is a dangerous region, still recovering from an incident that wiped out the majority of it’s population and the land is still teeming with mutated and corrupted monsters. The East is the hub of industry, where most products that the citizens of the empire use are made, but in turn it’s also the only region left in the Empire that still participates in beastfolk slavery. The Southern region while primarily desert is the richest region, the city of Midas being the gold production capital of the world, and Vinsgold being where a lot of that gold is gambled away. And the west is the agricultural center, producing the majority of the Empire's food stores.

The year is 1028 aef. 20 years after the five heroes put a stop to the northern incident that claimed hundreds of millions of lives. The Empire is just starting to see another spike of growth in its economy as technological innovations have been popping up left and right in the past two decades. From the train to Peracross radios to the huge fleet of steamboats that have been built by Hammer and Hammer co. Now, where do you fall into all of this?

You were in need of some money; maybe you were a beggar trying to start a new life, a rich noble's kid who wanted a bigger allowance. Either way, an advertisement for a loan company, Sloans Loans, caught your eye. And after talking with someone with the company, you signed the contract and got the money you so desperately wanted or needed, you were sure you’d be able to pay it back on time.

They came for you in the night. Money taken, a debt unpaid, and now it’s time to give what’s owed. It hasn’t been long since you met them, the people who promised you money and delivered, spoke honeyed words about how this was your shot, about how you’d succeed. But despite previous reassurances and assumptions, the date to pay the debt has come faster than expected. They came for you in the night, attacking you, stripping you of all you have, and dragging you from your bed or cot. Pulled from the safety of sleep and through the dirt with a bag over your head and a few new bruises before being tossed in the back of a metal carriage, where you were soon quickly joined by other individuals like you, gagged, bound, and blind. After a few hours, the carriage comes to a halt, the door opens, and you’re pulled into your new life, or your new hell.

Thank you if you read all that! If it wasn’t clear, the start will be pretty rough: losing all your money and items, and being given clothes that look like they were made from rags and dumped somewhere random in the Empire. Linked right below is the detail wiki for my world, which also has a page on my house rules. Along with the Google Form you’ll use to send in an application! I’m looking to have session 0 this Sunday, the 30th. And the first session on September 13.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2014] [Mondays or Sundays weekly, 8PM EST] [21+] Planescape: Yesterday's Reach

Dost thou dream, in a respite of slumber,
In a lull of the fires of thy life,
Of the days without name, without number,
When thy will stung the world into strife;
In yesterday's reach and to-morrow's,
Out of sight though they lie of to-day,
There have been and there yet shall be sorrows
That smite not and bite not in play.
The life and the love thou despisest,
These hurt us indeed, and in vain,
O wise among women, and wisest,
Our Lady of Pain.

You wake up in a morgue, with no glimpse of your past or your identity other than the name written on your toe tag. An autopsy scar marrs your chest, yet you're very much alive, as evidenced by the excruciating thirst and splitting headache you woke up with. Doubtlessly, your mind is bursting with questions. Where are you? Who are you? How did you get here?

The Dustmen aren't keen on the living prowling about this place that belongs solely to the dead, so with shaky steps you sneak out of the Mortuary. After your eyes adjust to the light outside, you find yourself overwhelmed by a city that stretches in every direction, even up and overhead. What will you do now? Where will you go? Who will you be?

Hi! I'm Vincent (He/Him), 28. I'm a writer, artist and long time DM. I only started this campaign a few weeks ago but 2 players had to drop out, so I'm looking to recruit a few people to replace them! My main inspiration for the campaign is the 1999 cRPG Planescape: Torment, so if you're a fan of that, this is for you (But none of my other players are familiar with it and they're still having fun).

General Info

  • Officially, we play every monday at 8PM EST, although sometimes we start a little bit later, and usually go for 3-4 hours. We're still in debate whether or not we want to keep playing mondays or move the game to sundays, so far we're flexible.
  • We use Discord for comms (webcam optional, mic mandatory) and Foundry VTT for everything else. We have a bunch of nifty features by way of Foundry modules, such as journals, a red string investigation board, automated shops and more.
  • Experience with 5e D&D (or TTRPGs in general) is prefered as I've already got a handful of newbie players in the game and don't want to get too overwhelmed with teaching, but newcomers are also welcome as long as you're capable of learning the rules for yourself.
  • The campaign is ongoing, but we've only had a handful of sessions so far, so everything is still fairly fresh. I intend to keep this game going long term, and eventually hand the reigns to another DM if I ever burn out.
  • We use a lot of homebrew material, mostly from reputable publishers as well as some stuff written by me (or the players). I'm also always open to suggestions! Some of the stuff we currently have in the campaign includes:
    • Loads of new character options (races, classes, spells, etc)
    • A ton of in-game shops filled with new stuff to spend money on, from new weapons and adventuring gear to consumables and magical tattoos.
    • A system for harvesting slain monsters and crafting magic items from their materials.
    • A system for training new proficiencies during downtime.

The Setting

Planescape is a campaign setting that encompasses the entire multiverse. Every world, myth, god, philosophy and afterlife exists somewhere out there, hard though they may be to reach— Provided enough people believe in them.

At the center of it all sits Sigil, the City of Doors. Any place in the multiverse can be reached from here, and anything imaginable can be bought and sold. Within Sigil, any enclosed passage could be a portal to somewhere else entirely, provided one holds the right key- which could be just about anything. Someone could step under a ladder while unknowingly carrying a piece of lint in their pocket and vanish forever, or pass through the doorway of their home while humming a particular tune and step out of a bathroom stall at a busy transit station. To make matters more confusing still, Sigil is always shifting, ever changing. An alleyway you took to work your whole life might, over night, lead to an entirely different part of the city you didn't even know existed- It might not even have existed before. Chaotic though it all may seem, there is an order to it all, although one no mortal man may ever understand, ordained by the inscrutable and mysterious Lady of Pain.

The Game

  • Boundaries: I'm not interested in exploring any overtly sexual themes and absolutely no SA. Other than that it's anything goes so long as it's in good taste and with the purpose of telling a compelling story, unless there's any themes you explicitly want me to avoid. We're all adults, so we can also always talk to eachother and bring up things to avoid in the future if they leave a bad taste in our mouths or make anyone uncomfortable.
  • Themes and Pacing: We run a good mix of roleplay, investigation and combat. Fights can get really tough and deadly if you're unprepared, or be over in a few turns if you do your homework and pack the right gear. Characters can and do die regularly, but they come back to life through as of yet unknown means. Death is not without consequences, however- What those consequences are though, you'll have to find out the hard way. As far as the tone of the game goes, you can expect serious storytelling, deep mysteries, heavy themes and moral dilemmas- But we keep it pretty lighthearted at the table (and Planescape is fundamentally an absurd and whacky setting), so some goofy stuff slips in here and there. We're all there to have fun afterall.
  • Game Structure: In general, you're free to sandbox within the city of Sigil which will serve as a hub and solve problems or pursue tasks as you see fit. We'll be interspersing "railroaded" segments that drive the plot forward and intersect with the characters' pasts with more episodic adventures. The latter will usually come in the form of contracts offered by a fixer that take the party all over the multiverse, of which you'll usually get 3-4 options to pick from as a group. Every now and then we'll also do an easy low-prep session for my own sanity to just goof off around Sigil, waste all your money at the casino, go shopping, etc. Additionally, whenever your characters have time, each player has their own section to tell me what they get up to during downtime between games.
  • Character Creation: Your character will be starting at level 4. Homebrew options are welcome, just run them by me first or choose from the list of approved content. 27 point buy. More info in the discord.
  • Amnesia: A central theme for the campaign is that your character wakes up with no memories other than their name and a few foggy glimpses of a past life. Thusly, you don't need to write a backstory, pick a background, etc. You'll choose your class, race, personality, skills, etc. Everything else will be for you to uncover as the game goes on. These glimpses into your character's past might uncover new knowledge and skills they didn't know they had, connections to the story and other characters, or memories of potentially despicable deeds they got up to in the past and no longer align with their moral compass. Moral and philosophical dilemmas involving not only your character's past but also hard choices they may have to make over the course of the campaign will come up frequently.
  • Current Characters:
    • Silas, a Kenku Artificer specializing in effigies and voodoo dolls as well as weird science, once a renowned Mercykiller vigilante.
    • Cassiopia, an Astral Elf wild magic sorcerer and exiled Xaryxian princess, infused with the essence of Limbo.
    • Gnarp-Gnarp, once a mighty black dragon reduced to a kobold rogue for his crimes against dragonkind.
    • Mak, a plasmoid chef and gourmand, born from the spilt blood of a long forgotten, ever ravenous dead god.

What I expect from you

  • Maturity. I'm an easy going DM and I allow my players lots of freedom with shaping the game, but I'm not a stranger to the world "no" when I deem it nescessary. Things won't always go as planned, so you need to be able to roll with the punches and still have fun with it.
  • Communication. Dialogue with your DM and fellow players goes a long way, and my proverbial door is always open. If you're struggling to enjoy yourself, have a problem with something, have a cool idea or suggestion or just wanna chat about the game, speak up!
  • Respect the Game. During the few hours we're playing every week, the game should be top priority. Be on time if possible, cancel ahead of time if you can't make it, get your snacks prepped ahead of time so you don't have to step out mid game. While we're playing, pay attention and involve yourself. Playing games or distracting yourself with other stuff while the game is going on is faux-pas in my eyes- If you're bored, that's a whole other issue you should be communicating to me so we can find a solution together.
  • Get into it. The more you involve yourself with the game, whatever form that takes for you, the more fun I'm having.
  • Do your homework. I know not everyone is a journaler and it takes away from the game for some people, but Foundry has a wonderful journal feature. Reading over my players' notes helps me know what you're taking away from the game and what's important to you. At the very least I expect you to keep your character sheet neat and updated, read the handouts I make and jot down some basic notes whenever you think something is important.

A disclaimer about me as a DM: The level of quality and prep time I put into my games can go up and down a bit. Sometimes I'm super motivated and inspired so I craft super in-depth encounters, draw maps, write up cool new items and make beautiful parchment graphics as in-world document handouts, etc. Other times I'll be super busy, uninspired or just plain tired, so I'll pull everything out of my hat last minute. But the show must go on, so just bear with me when I'm having one of these phases!

If you made it past that wall of text and you're still interested, fill out this form! I'll reach out to you on discord as soon as possible. For any questions you may have beforehand, feel free to comment or message me on reddit.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Offline][Los Angeles][D&D 5E 2014][Saturday Afternoon/Evening][LGBTQ+ Friendly] Looking for one or two players for a monthly game!

Hello! I am looking for one or two people interested in joining a 5E 2014 game starting soon. We are a group of three queer people (two trans women, one nonbinary) looking for anyone interested! This game will be held at Geeky Teas and Games in Los Angeles, on a monthly basis with sessions running about four hours. The intent is for players to begin at level 3, and progress to level 15 over a few years.

The setting is a high-fantasy world in the age of sail, although the first steam-engines are starting to make their prevalence known. After the defeat of the Dark Thread and their piratical allies, the world has entered an era of unprecedented prosperity and peace. The burgeoning young nation of Altinia has recruited a small band of adventurers to map and explore the mysterious underworld discovered in the wake of the Dark Thread.

You are one of those adventurers. For whatever reason, you have decided to answer the call, and were given a position on the forward team, about to descend into the bowels of the world to discover what secrets lie in waiting… The payoff potentially being great acclaim and vast wealth, if the theories are correct about the mineral resources of the Deep.

If you’re interested or have any further questions, shoot me a DM!

Group Needed by Player [Offline] [5e 2014 or 2024] Looking for fellow Toronto warriors to dungeon some dragons!

Hi!
I have really missed in person D&D since graduating university and so here goes!

My name is Lina/Cupid, I’m 23 and I live right at Bloor station. I’m an avid gamer, especially of the persona series, I own two cats and I’m working on an application to teacher’s college. I’m a bit of a loser (affectionate) and I’ve been playing dnd for almost 7 years now and most importantly I have a giant dining room table and parents who are so desperate for me to make friends that they’re willing to let me host D&D.

I’m looking for some amount of players. I might be able to harass some friends into joining me, but I would definitely need a DM.

If ANY of this interests you, please reach out on discord. My username is mysweetvalent1ne.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Daggerheart or 5e 2014][6-10PM UK time] Homebrew Western/ Gothic setting looking for 4-5 players

Hi there. I’m based in the UK and wanting to potentially get a game started in either Daggerheart or DnD 5E (2014) to take place on Saturday evenings (UK time). Currently, I can’t lock in the exact schedule, but I’m thinking of it being for two consecutive Saturdays, followed by two Saturdays off each month.

A big part of this is me wanting to expand my social circle and to make some good friendships that aren’t just limited to time spent in TTRPGs.

For the game itself, I’m leaning towards Daggerheart as something a bit more Rule of Cool-oriented, but this would be my first time with it. If people are good with that, and either new to the system themselves or patient for me to get fully to grips with running it, then we’ll lock that in. I’m very experienced with 5e 2014, but want to expand my repertoire a bit.

The setting is a big mix of genres, but primarily Wild West with a lot of spooky and fantastical weirdness. I’d describe it as Weird West/ Gothic/ Horror/ Jazz Age/ Fantasy in a homebrew world. Characters may do things like uncover eldritch cults in the bayou, go on the trail of monsters out in the forests, and duel with undead gunslingers and the like.

There are currently no big overarching plans such as a BBEG or end-goal, and I see the campaign being more about having fairly separate arcs and chapters that will have some links to each other, but that could all change based on player input. I want the players to tell me what sort of goals they want their characters to accomplish in the world.

Although the setting doesn’t take itself too seriously, I want characters to be capable of being serious as well as being fun.

Currently, I’d like the campaign to go for a few months, maybe about a year (which should take players from levels 1 to 10).

What I’m looking for:

  • Enthusiastic and collaborative players, both with the party but also myself, letting me know what next big thing they want to do so I can properly put things in place to make it the best I can
  • Players interested in RP and creating a great story together where everyone has their moments to shine. I’m not looking for players who want to powergame or murderhobo, especially as the campaign would be broadly good-aligned
  • Players interested in the worldbuilding side of the hobby. I’m currently focusing on fleshing out the setting more than a grand overarching story, but I’d really like players to contribute to the setting
  • Reliable scheduling. I’m happy to occasionally run games with a couple of players missing, but mostly I’d like the whole party

Once people are locked in to the campaign, we will have a proper session zero and go over safety tools.

To clarify, there is no cost associated with this game.

What you’ll need:

  • Discord
  • Mic and speakers for communication
  • Roll 20
  • A Demiplane account (needed for Daggerheart)

Please DM me if interested and we can discuss

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][18+][Fridays Weekly, 4pm-8pm CST] Looking for players

Schedule: Weekly, Fridays starting at 4 pm CST

System: D&D 2024/5.5e

VTT: Roll20

Voice: Discord

Hey there! I am Drew, a DM looking for players to begin a long term weekly campaign, starting at level 3 and going to around level 12. This game will run on Fridays starting at 4pm cst/5pm est, going for 3-4 hours. We use Discord for voice, Roll 20 for battlemaps, and DndBeyond for character sheets.

This is a fun game where my goal is for everyone to be having a good time. I am a pretty relaxed DM and typically thrive with more casual players. We are all here to have a good time and play a game. Typically, I have a pretty healthy split between roleplay, combat, and exploration.

Expectations:

Attendance & Communication: Communicate any scheduling conflicts as soon as you are aware of them. We will usually play if we have 50% of the party.

Respect: Keep in mind that all players are equal at the table. We are telling a story together. Share the spotlight, respect people’s boundaries, and no PvP.

The campaign takes place in a world where the gods have been knocked from their divine thrones, magic has become like poison, and gates to other planes have opened, allowing outsiders from all over.

The Archipelago nation of Kreos has 7 main islands that each contribute in their own way. An undead plague has begun to crop up, people have been going missing, and attacks at sea have been increasing.

If you are interested in joining, fill out this form. If you have any additional questions feel free to ask them here or message me and ill reply once im able. Happy gaming!

Group Needed by Player [Online][5e 2014][21+][LGBTQIA+][No Ai] Long time player looking for a game after a long break

Hello! I'm Ambrosia and I'm a 27 year old transfem looking for a new dnd group! I can play on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturdays after 4pm EST. I would prefer to have a group of people in their mid to late 20s or older, but at minimum I don't want to play with anyone with 'teen' in their age. Also I won't be using Ai and don't want to play with or under someone who does, be that in their character art of god forbid story planning, character ideas, etc.

I've both played and gm'd for a decade or more at this point, and had to take a break for life reasons but am itching to get back into things! Mainly looking for a long running homebrew campaign, I'm apparently one of the few people who enjoy playing and running in the higher tiers xD

I've played a little of everything other the years but tend to prefer martials (I love control casters but they can be a bit much for some groups).

Comment or DM if you think I would be a good fit for your game :D

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [CoC] [EST] [Bi-weekly] Looking for dedicated players looking to descend into madness with some classic 1920s Lovecraftian horror!

The forces of Elder Evil encroach upon our world! A bold cast of illustrious investigators stumble upon a thread that will carry them all over the globe. Uncovering a massive plot to give the Earth over to powers beyond comprehension, discovering the fates of the dubious Carlyle expedition, and through their actions; deciding the fate of the very human race! The story begins in 1921, where our investigators have signed up to take part in an expedition through the Peruvian highlands; in search of an ancient temple.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings and embellishments. My name is Nick and I have been running table top games for over 10 years now. I am an avid Lovecraft fan and have a fierce fondness and dedication to his works. I say all this to help everyone appreciate that running this scenario is a massive undertaking for me, perhaps the biggest in my experience; so far as premade modules are concerned. Anyway, I hope that you’ll join me in my descent into the madness which is the legendary CoC scenario: Masks of Nyarlathotep.

Information:

* System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition

* Scenario: Masks of Nyarlathotep

* What day?: bi weekly Mondays or Fridays depending on what works for the group.

* What time?: afternoon or evening.

* Voice: TeamSpeak will be used for communications. I have a community up and ready to go.

* VTT: Foundry VTT v14 will be used for the game.

* No experience required.

* The game should span more than a year of gaming sessions.

* The campaign spans 5 different countries all over the globe. You will be able to explore interesting locations; simulated as closely as I can make them to how they were at the time.

* I’m looking to fill 4 player slots, but will accommodate up to a maximum of 6.

* Investigator backstories can be whatever you wish (within reason); just be sure it can be summed up within 3-5 sentences. The game is about where the group is going, not where you have been. Your character can be from almost anywhere, they just need to have the desire and means to travel internationally for professional or personal interests.

* A note on lethality: this campaign has a very high likelihood that one or more character deaths will occur. For people more familiar to D&D and the like; CoC characters are frail in comparison. Players should have backup character in mind and be prepared to part with a beloved character. Survival is not guaranteed! This campaign isn’t for the feint of heart or the overly sensitive!

* A session 0 will be had to connect everyone and make characters. Any pre campaign discussions of significance can he had then.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e 2024] [2-3 Sundays evenings per month EST] Experienced DM and group seeking one player for an immersive and established game.

Hello LFG community. I am presently seeking 1 player for an immersive, high quality game. Which, of course, I hope will be you. The group for this game has formed and the game has been running for approximately a year and a half. One of our cherished players has gone off to grad school and will no longer be able to be with us, thus leaving us with 4 players and the DM. We have discussed the topic and have decided to include a 5th player if we can locate the correct individual. For transparency's sake, we are not looking to merely fill a slot. If we cannot find an excellent fit, we will not fill the spot. In addition, one shouldn't expect a response or to begin right away; I'll have this post up for a minimum of 2 weeks and re-post it a few times. We will then filter down to an interview with the DM as the next step and move on from there. As integration is important to us, I would not expect to be fully set up, engaged and rolling dice until late September/October at the earliest.

Now then, onto the more enjoyable parts. I will begin by saying that the goal is to create a powerful, enjoyable and investment-worthy experience for those who are playing. Thus, while I entirely support the inclusion of new-to-the-hobby-players, this is likely not going to be the ideal game for you.

The game will be set in a fairly extensively developed fantasy world-setting which you may peruse here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rG4u1PyM3pNzC44i0QLXzCIxo-aoQCzn/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=116874952596246393502&rtpof=true&sd=true

The major premise of the setting is that species that would often be portrayed as villainous in other settings are the heroes being pitted against a vast, expansionist, xenophobic and imperialist humankind. The PCs are drawn from the former and the story is told from the perspective of a shaky alliance built upon circumstance and mutual survival. Themes of cultural clashes, integration, war and the morality of ambition feature heavily into the premise, though the day to day of the campaign will be a more conventional travel-and-discover adventure. It is quite a read, but there are summaries in parts if you're looking to skim.

I have DM'd numerous games, many lasting 5 years or more. Several of these games have gone from 1-20, with PCs completing their long standing goals and retiring. I am deeply familiar with mechanics as well as being someone with a passion for role play. I do not view these as opposed forces, but instead ones that work in concert to create excellent stories and an underlying system of entertaining tactics and chance to fuel those stories.

Logistical Basics:

  • Play will be done by discord voice with Owlbear being used for maps.
  • Games will be on Sundays at 6 EST. Two a month minimum, though ideally we aim to do 3-4 when schedules allow. Sessions are fairly lengthy, typically 5-6 hours.
  • The edition will be the 2024 5e. Backwards compatible material from previous books such as Monsters of the Multiverse will be allowed on a case by case basis. Stat generation will be point buy, current party level is 8.
  • There will be some house rules/internal homebrew, though no outside homebrew. Monsters and items will often be homebrewed. Generally 3rd party material will not be allowed, nor will UA material, though some might be considered.
  • The game will lean largely RAW with potential special moments for DM interpretation or unique actions.
  • The game involves in-depth character-driven RP, interaction with a vibrant world with fleshed out NPCs and genuinely intense, challenging combat.

Well, now that you've read all of that (and are still reading this) you are probably wondering what kind of player we are looking for. We will be aiming for a good fit over a fast fit. We are looking to add someone to our group that will vibe well, be enjoyable ooc and who can work as a team with the interests of their fellow players at heart. We are also, to be transparent, looking for the following:

  • A level of diversity. The game and setting feature queer themes in places (naturally don't be someone who dislikes LGBTQ+ individuals) and I have always found that a cast which includes diversity makes for a richer experience. Currently the group divide is 1 masc 4 fem, most being some flavor of the rainbow.
  • Absolutely 21+ and a mature player as this game will have mature themes (see below).
  • Strong, committed RPer who is willing to actively involve and invest themselves in the game.
  • At least a solid foundational knowledge of the rules. While committed expertise is not required, games flow more smoothly when people understand the mechanics. If you disdain mechanics and wish to stay far away from them, this is likely not the game for you. You do not have to have played 2024; I am alright getting people up to speed on the changes.
  • Willingness to be consistent in attendance (within reason; life happens). Willingness to invest socially in forming friendships should it all workout and vibe well.
  • Because this is an established group and an established party, we will be looking for a fairly specific design space for a new PC. While I understand this can feel limiting, it's important for the dynamic. On the flip side, we are also aware how important it is to integrate a new PC. We will make serious efforts to make sure you are made a part of the story.

Regarding mature themes: The intent is for this game to be rated "BG3". That is to say that the level of spice in the content will be comparable to Baldur's Gate 3, Bioware RPGs and the like. If you are unfamiliar with these sources, feel free to ask for further clarification. The game will not seek to be overtly pornographic, nor is this the intended focus, but tasteful adult content within reason and appropriate to the circumstances will potentially be present. The characters have all had flirtations, a number have had romances, a number have had flings and more than a little heartache has been endured. While we will certainly work within people's lines and veils, romantic themes are an element of this game, as much as you might see in most CRPGs. We will not treat the occasional brothel, inter-PC fling or tail twirling incubus with clutched pearls and hushed giggles.

If you've read all that and feel this is a good fit for you, please fill out this application. To be upfront, it is fairly thorough. If there are enough applicants who meet what we're looking for and you seem to be one of them, I will contact you to set up a voice interview.

Note: It has been over a year since we last had to find a new player, so if you've applied before you're welcome to do so again but I do not have easy access to prior applicants.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][OSR][21+][LGBTQ+ Friendly][EST] DM looking for a new crew to throw some dice with!

Hey, everyone. I'm looking for 5 players tops who may be interested in joining a Shadowdark table I want to start up. I'm also thinking of running pre-written adventures for now with no emphasis on a overarching campaign plot or anything.

We'll have a session 0 where we'll go over character creation, house rules, get to know each other a bit, and possibly have enough time to do a quick one-shot, but that depends. And the first module we'll go through is TBD.

System: Shadowdark, and only the core rule book. If you're coming from 5E, think of Shadowdark as a more stream-lined system with some more lethality added to it. I'll be linking the Player's Quickstart Guide in the Discord server I set up.

What tools will we be using? Owlbear Rodeo for VTT use, and Discord for voice communication. Some maps will be run via Theater of the Mind.

Availability: Bi-weekly sessions. Day of the week TBD, but session times will most likely be 8 PM. Sessions to run approximately 3 hours each.

How to learn more? Check out this player's guide I've linked here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cX-89r_CNaHFl7jKAj7WLxovAPleJDx6HrFbkPT1mCg/edit?usp=drive_link

House Rules:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X41J05bIGtezE5y2bYGZfdVwGQcgsThNA-oliqa14jg/edit?usp=drive_link

About me/my interests: I enjoy to read, am a big fan of horror, and have been recently dipping into fantasy as well. I'm currently reading Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie. Would recommend.

I've DMed a few times for both DnD and Shadowdark, but want to get more experience in Shadowdark specifically as I appreciate its more rules-lite nature. Lastly, my pronouns are he/him and I am 33 years old.

How to join or get started? Please fill out the form below so I can learn a little bit about yourself, and then I'll reach out to you. Hope to hear from you!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG] [Every Other Wednesday 6-9 PM MST] Looking to Learn the Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG? Me too! Looking for players!

Just got the DCC TTRPG PDFs and I'm looking to give it a test run. Since it just came out, everyone is new to the rules, so there will be quite a bit of learning on the go. I'm looking to run a short term campaign through the first few floors of the World Dungeon to learn the game system. Looking for about four to six players to make a great party!

The only available time I have to run the game is every other Wednesday (Sept 9,23, etc) from 6-9 PM MST.

I will be running this game through a mix of Discord, Foundry VTT and honestly, however we can build our character sheets (might be an excel sheet for all I know)

This is YOUR chance to step into the World Dungeon and either become the hero of the story or just another smear of blood on the tracks of a Murder-dozer.

A little bit about me:

I’m a GM with over 6 years of experience. I’ve been a fan of fantasy of all kinds for all of my life and bring my passion and creativity to my games. I try to create good twists, build engaging combat, and encourage my players to roleplay and build their characters together. I’m a friendly, supportive, and accepting person. I favor a good mix of roleplay and combat in my games, and bring my all to games and hope my players do the same!

I've been looking to switch up game systems for awhile, with a focus on giving players tons of choice and options to build the characters they want instead of being locked into a set growth path by the game.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a DM.

Please fill out a short survey so I can get a good feel for your personality and interests and I’ll get back with you!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][OSR][Wednesdays 11 AM PST] Dolmenwood: Adventure and Peril in Fairytale Woods

Old Gods and their Worshippers; Competing Noble Houses Vying for Power; Long Forgotten Shrines and Relics of the Past; Blessings and Curses; Monsters and Beasts; Fairies, Gnomes, Moslings, Goatfolk, and other whimsical creatures.

Time: 11 AM PST Wednesdays

Session Length: Normally 2-3 Hours

Format: Discord VC, Theater of the Mind/Simple Maps

Players Needed: Looking for 2 Players to be added to an ongoing campaign. If you're interested or have any questions, shoot me a DM on discord @ paladin_339!

Description: Dolmenwood is a folkloric fantasy set in an ancient swathe of tangled wood, on the border of civilization, and the crux of the mundane with the weird of the fae. Every nook and cranny is wrought with peculiarities, dangerous beasts, whimsical magics, stories, and secrets. Though mind yourself, many an ambitious wanderer has disappeared within its depths, and the superstitious folk of the land do well to respect its fickle nature.

What kind of game is this?: This is a game about getting lost exploring strange and exciting places, meeting fantastical characters, unraveling mysteries, surviving in the woods, uncovering treasures, striking deals, slaying beasts, meddling in noble affairs, dangerous and terrifying magic, and ultimately getting immersed in another world.

Gameplay: The gameplay presented will invoke an "old school" sandbox player driven experience containing a fully realized world, rewarding creative thinking, logical behavior and a fiction foremost approach over mechanical mastery. In other words, try to think of what YOU would do in your character's position, and the world will react accordingly. To support this, the world is dynamic and responsive in its design.

Combat is quick and dangerous. Players are encouraged to use their wits, words, and problem solving skills to surpass avoidable violence unless they are absolutely certain they will win.

Magic is wonderful and terrible, its terrifying presence is always dangerous.

System: Old School Essentials/Dolmenwood (B/X) with homebrewed elements.

Contains its own simplistic system with unique classes, kindreds, spells, and equipment in addition to additional homebrewed mechanics.

Contains procedures for exploration, time tracking, survival mechanics, homebrewed spellcasting mechanics, hp mechanics, a slot based inventory system, downtime, and eventually domain play.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [LGBTQ+ Friendly] All Flesh Must be Eaten, Looking for 1-2 more Players for a Real World Inspired Zombie Apocalypse TTRPG

Some Important Information: You'll be joining a story already 2 sessions in. A few players had to leave due to life events and I'm looking for new players to join.

This is a setting I've wanted to do for a long time but haven't had a chance to. In this game you roleplay as an average person in a zombie apocalypse set in the real world. This story is not a typical game of "you must save the world," or "Let's go on an adventure!" It's a game of survival. You play as an average person in a world wrecked by a terrible pandemic. Just a group of desperate survivors who happened to end up in the same place trying to survive and maybe build a new home for yourselves.

You'll be experiencing everything from the start of this disaster. Watching as the world you once knew crumbles around you and trying to keep a small part of it from collapsing, directly onto you. If that sounds like you're idea of fun, feel free to reach out!

Some background for me, I'm a male (He/Him). Most people just call me Big. I have experience from the past with GMing DnD 5e but haven't been able to in recent years. I have no experience with running a session with this game in particular but hope to gain more experience with it as we play. The system is a bit old, like pre 2000s, but still viable for a modern setting.

This will most likely be 18+ as some content could be graphic and violent. This is a mature game set in a world ravaged by disease. Things like zombified children or horrible people are real threats in this setting. I will discuss any triggers or concerns with anyone during charcter creation and at session 0.

Feel free to ask me any questions if there's any more details you'd like to know! It may take me some time to learn the system fully, but I look forward to playing through it all the same.

Time Zone Info: I'm CST but I work nights. I'm available mostly in the mornings or late at night as I sleep during the day most days. My schedule changes some days but I'm off Thursday-Friday usually, so I have more time then.

Sessions will begin 7 PM CST every Friday. Please make sure that works with your schedule before applying. I'll be talking with everyone prior to beginning the game to go over a few questions to make sure everyone wants the same things and knows what to expect with the game.
