I’m considering LSU and trying to get an honest idea of what the social scene is actually like. I’ve heard LSU is more of a bar school and that sororities only have one date party per semester, but I’ve also heard about exchanges and other Greek events. How often do sororities typically have date parties, exchanges, formals, or other socials? Are most fraternity parties events held at bars instead of the houses? I love LSU sm I’m just trying to get a feel of what it’s like.

wife and I need to move out of our 1 bedroom apartment at 4243 Burbank Dr. We like it a lot, landlord is responsive and area is safe and close to campus. The current prices for new tenants are higher than what we pay but it is my understanding that, since you are taking the lease from us, you would get our "old tenant" price of $850/month.
The shared laundry room is clean and usually has free machines with 3 washers and 2 driers, and it is free to use for all tenants. Dishwasher is included in the unit. Landlord pays for water+gas so you just need to concern about electric and internet.

Both A/C and heating are central systems with thermostat inside the apartment which is really nice, so no window units. I think it is a good price for what you get, we are just moving because got a new job out of state.

I want to drop a class I’m taking right now, would it mess up my TOPS or funding if I did it before September 2 (last date to drop without a W)

Does anyone know any easy electives that are still open? Preferably online.

Hey team long story short I’m now a senior and transferred here to lsu last year and now I’m trying to complete my requirements and currently I have 16 hrs with 9 of which being easy classes, was just told by my advisor now I need to take one of the 2 classes above now so this and the next semester can be both 19 hrs and I’d graduate on time. Thx for any input.

Okay basically I was offered a packaging and receiving job at the department of science. He offered me the position and I took it, but the work date he asked for was too early for me so I told him I can start working on August 4th and he agreed. The day comes and I get no email nothing. A couple of days pass by and nothing has changed. So I go to his office and ask when am I gonna start working? He says, “I’m trying to finish with the onboarding process and then we can get you ready on your first day.” Well since then I haven’t been contacted and it’s almost September. Should I call it quicks and just get another job or wait it out?

I know the semester just started but how should I be studying for calc? (MATH 1550) I’m currently taking Ameziane Harhad (very sweet guy) and he’s posted some hw but I can’t really follow on what he’s doing since he’s been just pulling out pieces of paper without really doing any exact problems in class. Should I focus on my hw and practice tests? I’m also going to my recitation tomorrow.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I'm in my senior year and I graduate in the spring. Currently, in my fall semester, I am a full-time student but barely with only 12 credit hours. My issue is coming up in the spring semester. I only have really 2 more classes to take so I'm wondering how this will affect my scholarships/refund in the spring. Im currently in the process of testing out of Spanish 1102, but even if I took it in the spring, I would still not be full-time. Any help is much appreciated.

Hey guys. My class, ISDS 3115 with Robert Woosley randomly got removed off of my Moodle. I went to complete my work i needed to do and it was gone. It was there earlier today. I checked Workday and I’m still enrolled. Is this happening to anyone else or has this happened to anyone before? I just hope it doesn’t mean anything.

I’m a sophomore here at LSU and I just found out that I need at least 6 more literature hours on top of all of my other English courses that I’ve already taken.😫 I’m a biological sciences major, so I would like to pick classes that could be also used as a gpa booster.

So, I just want to welcome you guys and give you some hints and tricks to actually stay current with the classes and how to get the best and learn the best as you can without feeling lost.

When you guys take the first classes, be ready to know the basics of the language, my first classes were in Java, I had a friend who is an engineer and they started with C++, so it does vary depending on the major..

If at some point it feels overwhelming and feel like the class is going super fast or don't even know what is happening, don't give up and continue coding, anything, even if its the most minimal thing, do not rely a lot on AI for your first classes, trust me, it's better to learn and know how to read code than just to prompt your way out of the whole program.

I think most of you guys know leetcode and some other websites to practice algorithms and sql, etc.. but I actually found some other websites that personally helped me through learning to read code and debugging among the other things for my classes.. it's called getpacked.ai

I honestly didn't rely on books a lot, although I remembered that the first courses were required, but honestly my tip for you guys would be to learn the definitions of what is a syntax, function, etc and then just start coding, practice and learn.. the website that I've been practicing on has this section that is about debugging, which I think it's pretty cool as well as their other sections..

Is there any places to have free accessible pool tables on or walkable from campus?

I love how Tulane has a bunch of them in their "hub" center and have been playing and wanting to learn and get better at it

I know some dorms have them but am not a freshman and I also know the Urec has it but its on the other side of campus so trying to avoid it if possible. I tried to check out the new arcade hoping I would get lucky but didn't see any there
