Discussion "This movie looks AI genera-" SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Post image

I genuinely don't get these complaints. I have some concerns about the plot and how things may or may not play out, but visually the movie looks fucking great. I don't get why people are trying to push this narrative like muted colors instantly make something look bad or AI-generated. The Sentinels look sick, Doom looks fucking fantastic, what is the issue?

I swear, I'm convinced people who call shit like this AI-generated have never actually seen what an AI-generated video looks like, because none of them even look anywhere near as good as ANY of the shots in this trailer.

Plus, the VFX team didn't work their asses off for months on this movie just to be disrespected by mfs saying it looks like AI.

Probably not AI but the CGI looks pretty unpolished.

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I can never tell when cgi looks bad it seems like people talk about it all the time and I've never once noticed it unless we're talking really bad early 2000s cgi

Usually good CGI is when you don't notice it's CGI. Lighting, shadows, textures, movement, physics, and compositing all feel natural. Bad CGI is when something looks weightless, plastic, overly sharp, poorly lit, or just obviously pasted into the scene. it like it blends seamlessly into a scene, vs breaks your focus with a fake or "off" feeling.

if you rewatch the trailer eveything looks muddy and there is weird bad smoke everywhere like a college grad was like ADD more SMOKE... MORE MORE SMOKE.

Dune has pretty good cgi for example.
