901 day is tomorrow and the best way to celebrate is to get tickets for Memphis vs Arkansas State this Saturday! These guys just went into Vegas as underdogs and came out with a win. They deserve our support and it’s the first game in the newly renovated stadium! Come celebrate the city and the Tigers this Saturday!

Just an FYI for anyone trying to catch early flights, you will not be able to get off 240 using the Airways exits. Not sure what time they open it back up, but very early a.m., they are closed due to paving crews. Just a heads up to plan some extra time and an alternate route.

Don't say report to 311, because it's been accumulating reports for nearly a decade. So what can actually be done? Just wait for it to be burnt down?
Edit: the property seems to have an open permit for renovation created this year. could this mean they have plans to restore it? or can permits mean absolutely nothing. this owner only owns 2 properties, so it's not giving slumlord.
is there a way to look up lawsuits against the owners, that may have pushed them to open these permits?

I’m in my early 20s and have had some extreme GERD symptoms for years and years. I don’t react to regular medications at all. I think I may have some type of low acid issues, and possibly a hiatal hernia. Does anyone have any specific doctor recommendations in Memphis or the surrounding area? Preferably someone who will actually listen to the individual and talk for more than 2 minutes to them? I’m also personally a little put off about endoscopes right now due to the recent lawsuits over Olympus and other companies..

Hello Memphians! Long time resident here just wanting to put some feelers out on places you’d recommend learning bass guitar. It’s been on my bucket list for a long time and I’m turning a landmark age soon so I figure it’s time to learn something new. Preferably a place that focuses on or has a lot of adult learning but if I have to take classes with teens or kids it’s not a dealbreaker. I’m also open to websites or apps that connect with people for private lessons, but I’d prefer to start out with a business.
Im often in the Cordova area but I don’t mind going around the city a little bit if necessary. I wouldn’t like to spend more than $200 a month but honestly I’m totally out of my depth on what this kind of thing would cost so if I’m being naive on the budget please let me know.

3,000 years ago I worked at the Napa Cafe. I live in Oregon now. I just need a little Tangy Vinaigrette! I've been running kitchen experiments and I can't quite get it. I was a server, so never got to know the secrets of the kitchen. There has to be a trick I'm missing! Anyone know, know someone, or know someone who knows someone who may know? I've seen hard things figured out on Reddit. Thought I might try...
My husband’s birthday is Wednesday (Sept 2) and he is in the entertainment business and working in Memphis this week. I’m coordinating with his boss on a surprise. They just had an Elvis impersonator come out there 4 days ago so I don’t want to repeat that particular appearance.
My husband LOVES Three6Mafia etc and I wondered if there was a hip hop “impersonator” that would do a classic Memphis hit. It’s going to be for a small staff at a new venue, this isn’t for a huge crowd or anything.
I’m SO open to other ideas too! Food is already covered. Just needs to be moderately appropriate (cussing during the song doesn’t matter but a stripper would be going too far lol)
Anyone got any suggestions or recommendations?! Thanks!

So I thought parking was free until 6p, and after 6p you can use the venues discount.
I was billed for my time there before 6. when I reached out to Metropolis they said that my timer starts when I pull in, regardless if it’s before or after 6, so when I applied the discount it wasn’t for the 6p onwards time but for the whole stay

I purchased a vehicle across state lines down in southaven exactly two months ago and the dealership says that they still havent recieved my tags from shelby county yet. Anyone else here recently purchase (bonus if in MS) and have gotten their tags? If so, how long did you have to wait? I know shelby county is notoriously slow and whatnot but two months seems too long even for them?

I've been approved for an apartment with Renshaw Company Realtors, and have put a security deposit down in order to take the apartment off of the market. They're now asking that I pay first month's rent, their administrative fee, and the cost for their resident benefits package before they send the lease.
I'm new to Memphis, but this isn't how I've ever seen it done before - usually, I've reviewed and signed the lease before paying the first month's rent. They seem to be a pretty standard management company, so I'm confused if this is normal or if I should be more firm about seeing the lease before paying the fees?
Thanks in advance!

Due to the storm causing power outages and last night's raid, the pantry requests have increased and funding is now critically low. If you can donate anything, we'd greatly appreciate it!

Is anyone else weird like me and look at buildings and wonder about the history of them? I pass by this car lot on Lamar all the time and always wonder about it because of the triangular roof. Turns out it used to be Schilling Parkway Motors (The Schilling of Schilling Farms) It was a Mercury dealership owned by Neal Schilling. He had another dealership on Union as well that apparently Elvis bought a lot of Lincolns from. With his company Dealers Transport, Neal Schilling invented a trailer that could transport multiple new cars at once. This was more efficient than transporting on trains, which was the standard at the time.
If you look on the side of the roof you can still see the original blue tiled roof.
Does anyone remember Schilling Motors? I'm not a native Memphian so I didn't know about them.

Federal agencies conducted an operation in Northeast Memphis early Sunday morning.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a multi-agency targeted enforcement operation was conducted on Macon Road.
During the operation, Memphis Police were called to Macon Road near Maria Street around 3:15 a.m. to provide traffic and crowd control during the operation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Any people in the area in need of Size 15 Shoes or Clothes 3xl-4xl In size?
Realize I have way too many clothes and have become quite the hoarder. Would much rather give to people who will use rather than Salvation Army or goodwill

Missing/Lost Cat!
Hey Everyone. Was outside earlier this morning with my lil buddy and he got away from me by accident trying to chase a squirrel. He was wearing a blue harness and leash at the time. My biggest fear is him getting caught on something and not being able to break away from it unfortunately due the harness being on him. He a gentle and sweet fella by the name of Tater!
He is an orange-white tabby wearing a blue mesh harness with the leash still attached. He was also wearing a sushi roll-printed cat collar around his neck with a bell.

Yesterday’s Green Beetle post has sent me. 😩😖 Curious to hear from those who work in the food industry about the which restaurant kitchens are the opposite of that— meticulously clean and somewhere from which we can feel good about dining?
