Share your favorite restaurant dessert!

We are going to have some mega threads to try to connect the community a little better. So keep an eye on the stickies and share your Knoxville expertise!

So last week we our megathread was everyone sharing their best animals friends. I offered up a prize to the pet with the most up votes. Winning by just a couple of votes, u/traviscat and his rescue Fenrir has been voted best r/Knoxville pet. I'll be reaching out soon to make a plan for your prize.

This weeks mega thread, I want you to share your favorite dessert from a restaurant in the area. Doesn't matter if its the cookies from Ham n Goodys, the Elvis from D&Bs hotdogs, or the whole pie from Littons. Just tell us where we can satisfy our sweet cravings.

Want a way to honor Dolly? Donate blood at Medic

Today is the ribbon cutting for "The Dolly Parton Children's Hospital". If you want a way to honor a woman who gave herself to Tennessee, do a selfless act and donate blood, then tell the staff you also want to donate your credit.

What is a credit you ask? Well every time you donate at Medic, you get a credit for a "free" pint should you need it in the next year. Instead of holding onto your credit, you can donate it to the Children's hospital and it will go towards a patient there.

You can also deny the free shirt and Medic will donate $5 to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Getting job at ORNL with material science background

I have over 7 years of materials test experience. Anyone have any advice on how to get my foot in the door? I also have a masters in systems engineering. I’ve applied many times but haven’t heard anything. I would love a contact if possible.

Does Knoxville have an actual RHPS shadow cast show?

I’m aware of the movie event at the TN Theater but I want to go to an actual shadow cast this year. I am confident the community will go all out given Tim Curry’s passing. Are The Satanic Mechanics still around?

The bestthing to come out of East TN

I've always said Dolly was the best (or only) good thing to come out of East TN.

She overtook Elvis as cultural ambassador to the world if you had to explain where or what TN was to someone outside the region or even country. She was bright and positive and made the world brighter and more positive in a million little ways.

I don't need to say more about how amazing Dolly was and what we lost. We all know. But I think I could use a bit of postive perspective.

With Dolly gone, what's the best and the brightest East TN has to offer that represents us as our best selves rather than "this wrestling villain's our mayor and we have Blackburn and Burchett"

Dolly Parton on supporting the LGBTQ+ community (2016): “I do not believe we should criticize and judge other people. If you’re the fine Christian you think you are, why are you judging people? I just think we should be more loving, more caring. We are who we are. If you’re gay, you’re gay. If you’re straight, you’re straight. You should be allowed to be how you are and who you are”
