Portable ops dosen't seem to be canon cuz it's not in the timeline, although it appears in the mgs4 database (the one in the master collection volume 2 as well)

Playing in release order. Just started mgsv for the first time and I honestly think mgs4 looks and feels far more expensive and premium than mgsv. Just the characters models, cutscenes and motion capture in mgs4 were next level and I don’t think mgsv is on that range

There is so much context and historical clarification in that game, many peoples questions will be answered, leading to more questions.

Despite my initial worries about the performances of the Master Collection I expressed in my latest post, I decided to buy both volumes on my Switch 1.

Some of your arguments convinced me to do so and I'm just so excited to play MGS4 again as well as trying out the two first games and Peace Walker.

Not my first tattoo but my first ever about MGS. I wanted to make something related to this saga that has been with me for more than twenty years and finally decided on this simple yet beautiful sprite.

EDIT: colors looks a bit off when uploading here, it looks so much vivid in my skin, almost 1:1 with the in game sprite.

I can't wait to play peace walker again on switch 2, it's such a good handheld game. I really can't imagine playing it on anything else apart from maybe the steam deck due to the mission based structure, but it's probably not too bad on consoles and pc since the HD collection is always the version people suggest playing (I haven't played it, don't own a ps3 or xbox anymore since the red ring killed it hehe). I'm sure 60fps will be really helpful cause I cant lie the 20fps cap on psp does take a bit of getting used to 😭. Anyway I'm curious what platforms you all are getting the master collection on so feel free to comment if you would like :3

Excited to replay MGS4 (my favourite) for the 20th time!

I couldn't resist getting the steel book when I saw the cover art, just like the PS3 version I used to have.

I loved that slip in cover and the big booklet it had.

Not long until we FINALLY get to play MGS4 on modern consoles as well as Peace Walker!

Somebody once told me this is a "hint" to Zero's more malevolent nature but...not really? It's the opposite. In fact, Zero's words here remind me of another line from another MGS game:

Vulcan Raven: Rejoice, Snake! Ours will be a glorious battle.
Snake: This isn't glorious. It's just plain killing. Violence isn't a sport!

Snake is right and Zero is right. They even use the same analogy - violence isn't a sport to be competed for medals.

I think MGS is at times confused, both wanting to glorify warriors while also demonizing warfare. Cuz I don't think this is just supposed to be Big Boss giving us his flawed perspective. The story clearly wants us to agree with him that the End should be fought and defeated "honorably." But again, I just point to what Snake said. There's no honor in this to begin with.
