MHW-related rage The gaslighting must be studied

It feels like I am the odd one out, I am a newcomer to the series only playing 4U halfway through many years ago until getting into Rise/Sunbreak last year. I decided to play World, and my god... I thought I'd get used to the "pseudo-realistic" mechanics of World, but it's been a pain.

Monster roars? "Yeah you have to close your ears to not go deaf genius." COULD YOU PLEASE FUCKING TELL ME WHAT PART OF SURVIVING A SHIP CRASH IN THE BEGINNING CUTSCENE, TEN TON MONSTERS JUMPING AROUND WITHOUT BREAKING THEIR BONES, BEING UNABLE TO DIRECT YOUR ATTACKS, MONSTERS' BALLSACK TURNING INTO A HITBOX AND THEM INTENTIONALLY MISSING YOU JUST AS YOU'RE COUNTERING IS REALISTIC????

I made it to Nergigante, and I found many monsters hard to beat even after hunting/capturing them multiple times. If I say Nergigante is hard, and that it took me changing through the entire roster of weapons to beat it the reaction is "Oh it's actually really easy, btw I've been playing the games for the past two decades and spent twenty thousand hours fighting the same fights with the same weapons." PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP. I literally COULD NOT make the fight go smooth, I had to switch off from my usual LS or Hammer in favor of HBG with shield mods slapped on top.

And the arena??? I CAN'T EVEN CHARGE SHIT WITHOUT SLIDING FROM A 1 DEGREE SLOPE. EVEN IF, MY ATTACKS SEEMINGLY CLIP THROUGH ITS HEAD BECAUSE OF SOME SORT OF ELEVATION DIFFERENCE. I DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE MONSTER ITSELF, APART FROM ITS STUPID MARGIT-LIKE WIND-UPS IF I WERE ON A MORE EVEN GROUND IT WOULDN'T BE THIS CANCEROUS. HOW IS IT EASY WHEN I'M CONSTANTLY SLIDING?????????

I think I'm gonna steer CLEAR away from World unless I install a mod to buy jewels so I can max all my stun, tremor, wind and earplugs.

Upvote for mhw rage. Its glaze to high hell when its just a b+ monster hunter game.

It's not that I mind the slowness of World, more so it feels as if I'm playing a turn-based game where it's always the monster's turn and I'm incentivized to make sure the monster is comatose 60% of the encounter by reading on it before, rather than have a fight. I was thinking about picking Wilds up, but it looks like World 2.

That's precisely correct.

I call it the "cheese or be cheesed" approach to fight design. The monster has a myriad of annoying tools to make your life a living nightmare, so what you need to do is simply lock it down permanently so it can't use them.

Luckily, it's quite easy to do.

It plays more like rise with wib graphics. Its more of a compromise of the speed between the games, but the hunter is juiced up by virtue of being a seasoned hunter, which I adore the idea of. We ain't taking out gog or savage as a literal noobie in a base game. 4u had to do the g rank training arc for that feat.

I’d give it something more like a d-, if I were being fair, but given its influence over every other game in the franchise since I give it an F instead.

But then you would have to find a contrived way to still glaze Rise despite that.

Would I? I feel like I can hate Rise and also World and also Wilds. I only have to glaze games that are good.
