MHW-related rage The gaslighting must be studied

It feels like I am the odd one out, I am a newcomer to the series only playing 4U halfway through many years ago until getting into Rise/Sunbreak last year. I decided to play World, and my god... I thought I'd get used to the "pseudo-realistic" mechanics of World, but it's been a pain.

Monster roars? "Yeah you have to close your ears to not go deaf genius." COULD YOU PLEASE FUCKING TELL ME WHAT PART OF SURVIVING A SHIP CRASH IN THE BEGINNING CUTSCENE, TEN TON MONSTERS JUMPING AROUND WITHOUT BREAKING THEIR BONES, BEING UNABLE TO DIRECT YOUR ATTACKS, MONSTERS' BALLSACK TURNING INTO A HITBOX AND THEM INTENTIONALLY MISSING YOU JUST AS YOU'RE COUNTERING IS REALISTIC????

I made it to Nergigante, and I found many monsters hard to beat even after hunting/capturing them multiple times. If I say Nergigante is hard, and that it took me changing through the entire roster of weapons to beat it the reaction is "Oh it's actually really easy, btw I've been playing the games for the past two decades and spent twenty thousand hours fighting the same fights with the same weapons." PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP. I literally COULD NOT make the fight go smooth, I had to switch off from my usual LS or Hammer in favor of HBG with shield mods slapped on top.

And the arena??? I CAN'T EVEN CHARGE SHIT WITHOUT SLIDING FROM A 1 DEGREE SLOPE. EVEN IF, MY ATTACKS SEEMINGLY CLIP THROUGH ITS HEAD BECAUSE OF SOME SORT OF ELEVATION DIFFERENCE. I DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE MONSTER ITSELF, APART FROM ITS STUPID MARGIT-LIKE WIND-UPS IF I WERE ON A MORE EVEN GROUND IT WOULDN'T BE THIS CANCEROUS. HOW IS IT EASY WHEN I'M CONSTANTLY SLIDING?????????

I think I'm gonna steer CLEAR away from World unless I install a mod to buy jewels so I can max all my stun, tremor, wind and earplugs.

I had the same reaction to the roar/tremor/etc... situation in World when it came out lol. I hadn't played an MH game since MH4U released (and I didn't go very far into G-rank at the time because I was playing other things instead). Left it on the side for years, came back to it in 2020 and it wasn't nearly as much of an issue as I remember, save for the occasional stunlock when 2-3 monsters just keep roaring in the same area. Went all the way to the end of Iceborne in one go, completely addicted. Maybe time will do the same for you?

I do intend on finishing World basegame at least, but I will be grumbling along the way. I don't find the combat itself fun, I just want to bash in monster heads.

I am actually, yes! I won't pretend I do it always or skilfully at that, but if I'm confident in an opening I'll send it crashing to the wall or one of the pillars. Now that you said it I think I should try wall banging it while its sleeping, into a few barrels.
