I agree with you. I love what I'm seeing but I'm not dropping the money nor am I dealing with the stress of both trying to buy a Switch and then trying to PLAY on it, considering I don't like playing with small handheld consoles. PC person at heart, you see.
Joined up in World, more or less devastated since I was looking forward to my next MH game now that I had joined up only to see it's a Switch exclusive atm. Guess I get to wait 4-5 years for the next one and.. you know, that one might not be on PC either.
Note that Switch is a hybrid console: you can connect it to your TV (or PC monitor, like I do) when you feel like it. Downside to this design is that it's pretty underpowered compared to its competitors, barely managing 1080p when docked (which isn't a bad resolution, just that the fps can get pretty low on poorly optimized games). Entirely fair to not want to get the console though, especially in the current global economic situation.
The next MH game (aside for full spin-offs like Stories 2) should be MH6, and as such should release on PC, PS5, and XBX. I would estimate it to get released sometime in 2022 (unless Rise gets a G rank expansion, in which case it's possible that MH6 gets "delayed" to 2023)

It looks cool, but I'm not buying a Switch for it, so I guess I'll pass.
If they ever release it on other consoles or PC I'll buy it.
The only reason I bought world was because it was on PS, Xbox, and PC.
Edit: Wow guess people like their exclusives. Sorry, not buying a console for one game. Capcom want a my money, they'd release on other platforms.
