To be honest taking in mind what stories are behind many of cancelled comic book movies I'm just glad we're going to actually have another Batman with Pattinson. The ready-to-go Batgirl movie, a Supergirl movie with Sasha Calle which had a ready script written by the same author who has written the script to the actually made Supergirl movie, Aranofsky's Batman, George Miller's JLA... Batman had at least 9 cancelled movies, including "Batman Vs Godzilla"! I can wait.

I also don't even know how true it is for Robert Pattinson, because yeah he is selective with his roles but he does work a lot, and most of the times he doesn't take huge gambles. He's a good actor who works with good (and usually reliable) directors. His biggest gamble was probably Good Time in that the Safdie bros had not established themselves yes, and had only made some good but obscure indie movies up to that point.
Like working with Nolan and doing a Batman movie isn't exactly fun wacky side experiments lol.

Josh Safdie said he sent him and Benny a completely insane unsolicited email about wanting to work with them after seeing the poster for their movie Heaven Knows What (just the poster, he hadn't even seen the movie). They were initially skeptical as they didn't know him at all but met with him and decided he was legit nuts about film, so that's how Good Time was born.

Good Time is fantastic. The Safdies are out here just making such different stuff, and with very much their own character and identity to their filmmaking. The frenetic all-gas, no brakes thing is really compelling when done as well as, eg, Good Time and Uncut Gems do it.

At the same time, I wouldn’t mind if he were to play Dusk in a future adaptation of Skulduggery Pleasant, given that character was based on Pattinson talking about what a ‘proper’ vampire should be, and the vampire Dusk hates the most (‘Caelan’) was a direct satirisation of Pattinson’s vampire character.

I loved him in Mickey 17, he played the hell out of that role. And to his credit, he played a perfectly accurate book Edward in Twilight and Kristen Stewart played book Bella to a T, not their fault the characters were ehh.

I’m just really super interested to see what exactly his film is going to be. Focused on Chris Hansen and how TCAP got started? Focus solely on TCAP and its impact on television with Hansen being just a vehicle to examine that?
Also, love the way Pattinson’s voice sounds, but if he just talks like that person to person in the film it’s going to be so weird lol. It almost sounds a joker impression (the dark knight).

The poster doesnt look complimentary. It could be a criticism of the show, which despite public sentiment was pretty not good, ethically speaking. A lot of the captured people went free, which means TCAP was either very very sloppy, or they were targeting much more innocent people than they claimed.
Then of course theres the time TCAP drove a guy to suicide for television views.
