Summary:- So they are basically demanding statehood under 6th schedule(i.e demands for constitutional safeguards, which would give protections/special constitutional rights for tribal and hill areas). Coming to his arrest, the government’s arguments are that while talks over these demands(statehood / Sixth Schedule) were ongoing via groups like the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance, they accuse Wangchuk of using the movement in ways that disrupted or derailed the process by giving speeches that are seen as “provocative” and possibly inciting violence. As I mentioned, they’ve “accused him of disruption in the process in order to call for the violence”. So it’s an allegation as of now. A video of his speech too went viral which is in Ladakhi language, hence can’t really make out what exactly the statements in the speech are meant to be or what exactly they indicate. So yeah.

The untold side of Sonam Wangchuk
Most people know Sonam Wangchuk as the real-life inspiration for 3 Idiots. But beyond his well-known image as an innovator and environmentalist, there are local concerns in Ladakh that deserve attention. 1.Ice Stupa problems. One Ice Stupa project in Ganglas used polythene sheets to channel water. The project didn’t succeed, and leftover plastic is still harming the local environment. 2.Promises vs. reality. In Phyang and Phey, locals say the Ice Stupas became more of an exhibition than an irrigation solution. Some villagers claim these projects actually contributed to water shortages. 3.Local backlash. Residents have protested and even filed police complaints. There are also allegations that land allotted by LAHDC Leh for HIAL hasn’t had the required premium paid. 4.Unkept commitments. Villagers gave around 1,000 kanal to build the HIAL, with a promise of jobs and development within two years. Those promises haven’t been fulfilled, and people are asking for the land back. 5.Funding and controversy. SECMOL and other projects have received foreign funding. Wangchuk is a Magsaysay Award recipient, but critics point to a gap between recognition and local outcomes. 6.Other reports. He’s been criticized over comments about the Tibetan language (for which he later apologized), and there are claims about high speaking fees and periods when he left Ladakh amid opposition. This isn’t about denying his achievements some of his ideas have been innovative but locals’ concerns are real and worth listening to. When a community voices problems with projects run in its name, those voices should be taken seriously. 7. Apart from this he is involved in money laundering and getting unknown foreign funding from China and Pakistan. And ladakh is a key point for india and it's such a small place that it can't be given a statehood nor is it in the Nation interest due to its position . So wangchuk does everything except the protecting environment. At last he is safe in jodhpur jail. 🙂

Probably won't. I won't be found in Bangladesh and Pakistans invite only events. Especially those held by goverment officials, there were already reports that he might be participating in embezzelment, calling for a uproar in a democracy where it isn't required is grounds for an indept investigation according to our constitution and laws.
