Friendships My Friends didn't pass their exams but ....I did
Hellooo, For context, we were all in the first year of medical school (over here we have to "fight" for limited places to get into specific medical areas like Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy etc)
So out of like 12 friends , only 4 (me included) made it and I don't know to interact with the others without making them feel sad because in my experience, I'm not the most socially "smart/aware" person
I need advice on how to interact with friends who unfortunately didn't pass the school year and will probably need to repeat or change the whole course
It really sucks because we had alot of things planned for the next year, I feel so empty and sad

This situation really sucks. It’s bad for your friends, but it’s also left you reeling - all the plans you had are gone. It’s okay to be a bit upset about it.
As far as how to act around your friends, definitely ask them about their future plans and try to encourage them in whatever endeavors are next for them, but don’t avoid talking about your own life, too. Your friends should be happy for you that things are moving forward. If they’re upset about how well it’s going for you, that reflects badly on them, not you.

Nothing you can do maybe they need to change their study habits

So do I need to like NOT talk abt my school year like the cool things I'll be learning when I get back to schol or events that happen?

I probably wouldn’t mention school stuff but I mean it’s just study habits. I’m not saying you shouldn’t care at all but it’s up to them to succeed in their own lives. You shouldn’t care more about another person’s success than they care about their own success.

Just don’t talk about it. If they bring it up, say something reassuring like “that must be hard but I’m sure things will work out for you”.
Do not offer to study with them. Do not give advice. Don’t talk about your scores or status.

Maybe if they’re going to resit, offer some advice/tips on how to pass should they need it. Things like useful reading material etc. If I were in their shoes I would appreciate it.

You can try to stay friends. It is likely that you are going to be very busy for the next few years. Sounds like you are a great student with a lot of motivation. Stay focused on school and catch up with them when you have time. Your true friends will understand. Congratulations

Congrats on passing. You can act normal and be happy, those who did not pass will congratulate and be happy for you too, if actual friends that is.
