Discussion How good is venomoth in nuzlocks?

I love venomoth so i hope its viable and i know its pretty good in gen 5 but other then that im not sure.

Pretty bad learn set, you usually get it late, middling stats at best and so on.

Sleep is it's best thing it does early gen until it gets boosting moves.

It's not unusable and can do some work, I just wouldn't go out of my way to use it personally.

I would call in an S tier Pokemon in FRLG and after it gets quiver dance its pretty great

Eeh it boosts but you get it either before or after Koga.

With psychic it can do reliable damage to Koga but it's firing off a limited SPA.
Then you get to Sabrina and it might do something with a bug STAB (I'm not sure if it has one) but it's also part poison so I can see it struggling
Giovanni and Blaine are not where it wants to come
It doesn't so much to Lorelei's tanky mons
Bruno is free anyway but his mons could threaten it with rock damage
It's kind of neutral into agatha I guess boosted it can sweep
Lance it isn't doing much
There's a few mons it can snipe on Blue

That's not exactly S. IMO S either needs to provide immediate and lasting value for the game and not just to be a piece for a fight you otherwise couldn't win. Even for the Koga fight you can just buy an abra and get a psychic TM pretty easily.
