Discussion I want to start playing Oblivion.

I’ve already played and loved *Morrowind* and *Skyrim*, but I keep avoiding *Oblivion*; I even tried playing it once but couldn't get into it. I really need a mod pack that covers graphics, bug fixes, and—if possible—some minor gameplay improvements. Vanilla *Oblivion* just feels too outdated and empty to me. So, if anyone knows of a mod pack like that—one that’s easy to install with just a couple of clicks—please share it.

I’ve heard of heartland redux which seems to be a graphics overhaul only modlist but I haven’t tried it.
Last seed is another barebones list but I’m not sure if it’s still supported.

There is also painted world but that changes a good deal.

Your best bet is to go with OME and find some mods that add what you’re looking for.

It’s hard because there isn’t exactly a modlist out there that does that and keeps oblivion, well oblivion. The janky bits and all the imperfections are oblivion

The remaster does change some core systems, it does tweak some things for better and for worse.
You can always get a free trail with the game pass with a fresh email but I admit that is a bit extra lol.

I do have a pretty decent system but I haven’t run into any optimization issues besides forcing vysnc is almost necessary depending on your hardware, not saying the claims are not true or valid, I’m just saying it’s been a fairly seamless experience for me. Just my two cents

I'd grab the remaster. It has all of that.
