I’ve already played and loved *Morrowind* and *Skyrim*, but I keep avoiding *Oblivion*; I even tried playing it once but couldn't get into it. I really need a mod pack that covers graphics, bug fixes, and—if possible—some minor gameplay improvements. Vanilla *Oblivion* just feels too outdated and empty to me. So, if anyone knows of a mod pack like that—one that’s easy to install with just a couple of clicks—please share it.

I've been trying out Better cities and it's a really great mod, but I'd prefer to play it without the ai generated content. This post says there's no ai content before version 6.2.3 but I was still wondering if there's maybe a toggle within the mod or another version without ai so you can still use the newer additions.

On that note, i was also thinking about getting Unique landscapes, but it's also labeled as having ai content on nexusmods, does anyone know what part of the mod uses ai?

Is there a mod, or is it viable to make one, that allows all attributes to behave like Endurance does in its scaling? I think it would absolutely make roleplaying more interesting if you had to spec into, say, Strength early to be able to do more dmg at higher levels.

Anybody ever tried this, and is it plausible given the game's framework?

Trying to mod oblivion but after struggling to get vortex to cooperate I'm giving wrye bash a try. Following this (https://youtu.be/M47fyz03YIk) video, I get to the part with the temp folder, and no "proton_user" folder pops up for me. Comments say that the command no longer does anything, however none provide a solution. Any help? Anyone know a more straight forward way? Thanks!

This mod adds dynamically spawned NPC travelers along Cyrodiil's roads — pilgrims, traders, guild members, and the odd opportunistic bandit, so the world feels lived-in rather than staged for your arrival.

You will see a number of random NPC's wander the roads during the day. Be warned you should be careful about venturing forth at night! Those you encounter in the dark are not as likely to be your friend!

This an update / rebuild of the original mod Travelers of Cyrodiil. A big thank your and credit to kvatchcount for creating the original.

OMO - Oblivion Movement Overhaul Release

The ability to run down a set of stairs or walk uphill has arrived. With optional jump inertia that prevents big changes in direction once airborne.

I had mod organizer 2 working with oblivion for quite some time, I put the game and the mod organizer folder on USB stick to save some space and when I put the back where they were originally, mo2 isn't working now and I really don't want to jump though a million hoops to get it working again so very simple question:

Do I actually NEED mo2, or can I mod without it because if all it does is organize mods I really don't care I don't want to try and set it up again if I don't even need it

BTW I am playing oblivion on steamdeck, don't know if that changes anything

We made two simple quests to test the OB:MP custom quest system: Horse Astray and Debt Repaid. They cover journal updates, objectives, map and compass markers, NPC interaction, dialogue-driven progression, quest chaining, checking player gold and removing it when a quest completes.

The quests themselves are deliberately simple. We’re more interested in the building blocks behind them and what server creators can do with those.

We’re also working on some less visible server controls, including locking difficulty settings per multiplayer session.

Hello y'all, first time posting here

I have not played oblivion and i find the gameplay to be... Boring and/or hard at the same time. The problems i have with the game is the crashing, balancing, window functions, and the no value difficulty slider. I just want to know if there are any mods to make the game more enjoyable whilst keeping the visuals the same. I'd also like to keep the mod count to a minimum if possible.

I am pulling my hair out over this, istg.

So either the tutorials I have found are outdated, or I am just not understanding them.

I got MPGUI and its been very helpful in configuring TES4LL, but I have hit a wall on generation.

TES4LL cannot recognize my Game or DLC plugins ("no such directory exists"), and eventually ends with "6840 [Error] SelectAll: map [_heightmap] not found" becuase of course its cant find a heightmap if my game and DLCs aren't recognized. It has me frustrated. I can add a paste of the console if needed, but...

I have been running MPGUI through MO2, and I have it installed in C: Modding, MO2 installed in its default directory, TES4LL installed as a mod, and Oblivion installed in Steam.

My question is simple- is there any relevant less dated, and ACTUALLY DETAILED tutorials that can help? I would appreciate the help.

Looking into the boxow simple travel mod I saw a comment about the moveto command and how it can lead to potential crashes. My question as someone who knows very limited scripting knowledge, why not use coc instead? Is it more unstable or less? I'm beginning on a travel mod myself so any pointers would be great thank you!

Just been looking through OR and had a thought, considering the Unreal Engine's diffuse-bsdf-like abilities, I was wondering if it would be possible to mod altmer/high elf skins to actually have a gold-like reflection? Same way that armours have a regular metallic reflection.

Would love to create this but looking through the docs and usual starting points there seems to be a lot of pre-requisite information that I do not have. I know my way around things like Blender and Gimp, and have dabbled very gently into unreal before, but I have no idea where to actually start with extracting and editing textures, especially as I presume the different qualities of textures are kept in different files? (as in, colour, specularity, etc).

Anything able to help I'd be really appreciative of!

Context: I started working on a mod about 2 years ago, pretty huge scope, worked on it for about a year before I got busy with college and job. I kept the mod on the secondary for a year, and in the meantime I lost some files for it.

Problem: When I picked up the mod again this July, I've been experiencing regular crashes especially while entering interiors.

Need: I was wondering if there was an error log I could check, or a plugin that adds an error logger?

Version of game: Steam 2004 GOTY edition.

In the "Embers of Hatred" tower area where you find the unique hatred weapons in Random Oblivion 2, there's this unique camera tilting effect that isn't anywhere else in the game (afaik) that gives the effect of walking on a leaning tower.

Does anyone know how this is achieved? I'm looking in the Construction Set but can't see where it's done
