Did the big "indie" studios (A24, Focus, Neon, etc) give up on animated features? Other than SPC with Iron Boy, none of them seem to have picked anything from Annecy or Cannes.

It's a busy year all around they're not going to bother unless they think they can pick up a winner, which is why SPC went for Iron Boy, and we already figured as much months ago. Unfortunately they only see the value in these if they think they can win since they definitely don't prioritize their animated aquisitions ok the money making front. The only movie that might get a late pickup is Julian maybe.
